PORTLAND, Ore. — BridgePort Brewing Company, Oregon’s original craft brewery, is celebrating hop harvest season with the release of its fresh hop Hoptoberfest IPA. This year’s edition is a hoppy, Mãrzen-inspired IPA using fresh Centennial, Amarillo and Mt. Hood hops.
“We start with four malts and the hops to build a solid, lightly bitter background and amber color,” describes BridgePort Brewmaster Jeff Edgerton. “We then ferment with our German lager yeast before pouring over fresh hops,” he adds. “As the beer cools, an incomparable fresh hop flavor develops.”
