Delirium Launches Its First Beer in 330ml Can Format

July 8, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Delirium Frederick Maryland – BBL, Inc. of Frederick, MD, announces that Brouwerij L. Huyghe’s Limited Release, Deliria, a Belgian Blond Ale, has arrived in the United States and is shipping throughout their nationwide network of distribution partners.

Deliria is the first Delirium beer to be offered in a 330ml Can format! The undeniable popularity of cans in the US Market made Deliria a natural choice to enter the range of Delirium beers already available to American beer lovers in cans. Delirium Tremens, Red, and Nocturnum are all offered in 500ml cans.

“Deliria has shown steady growth in popularity since its initial brew in 2013” said BBL, Inc. CEO Laura Day. “Up until this year, it was only offered in 750ml bottles and draft, but as brand interest, recognition, and partnerships have grown, we decided to try a new, more accessible package format.” She continued, “The beer has always been brewed in honor of International Women’s Day. In recent years we’ve partnered with National Breast Cancer Foundation and The Pink Boots Society, which helped bring this beer with a message to an even broader audience. We’re very excited that the 2021 vintage is now available in cans as well as Microstar kegs. This year, it was a whole new approach for the brewing team in Belgium to make these cans happen, on top of everything the pandemic threw their way.”

About Deliria from Brouwerij Huyghe:

Deliria was first created in 2013 by Brewery Huyghe’s Head of Marketing, Catherine Dubrulle, who is also the wife of Brewery Owner Alain De Laet. Early in Catherine’s career, she couldn’t help but notice how male-dominated the beer industry can be, so she decided it was “high-time for women to have a beer of their own” this was the birth of a concept that would one day grow into Deliria. Catherine always believed a beer for women should be made by women. That’s why each year a select group of women is invited to Belgium to brew alongside Catherine. The brewery classifies Deliria as a Strong Belgian Blond Ale. It rings in at 8.5%ABV, yet you wouldn’t guess it from the drinking experience. The aroma is fruity with floral notes that are reminiscent of chardonnay grapes with a distinct touch of hops. The flavor is full-bodied and balanced with tones of apple and those chardonnay grapes. There is a fine mild bitterness to the finish complimented by a round mouth-feel that evolves from one sip to the next.

WeldWerks Brewing’s Latest 10K IPA Will Provide A Home to A Local Family

July 8, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

WeldWerks BrewingGREELEY, CO – WeldWerks Brewing Co. proudly announces the next iteration of their philanthropic 10K IPA series. At least $10,000 in proceeds from the sale of 10K IPA: House That Beer Built will be donated to Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity’s House That Beer Built program so that they can provide the Legawi family a home in Greeley. The beer will be available on July 9 at the brewery.

“We care about beer and we care about people. Affordable housing is a clear need in Weld County and a focal point for our Brewing Better Communities initiative,” says Roy Van Anda, WeldWerks Community Foundation VISTA. “We are both excited and grateful that Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity provided us a pathway to give back to the community with greater intentionality.”

The Legawi family, which consists of Aster and her four children, came to the United States from Sudan by way of refugee camps in Eritrea and Ethiopia; they have been living in Greeley for the last three years in a cramped two-bedroom apartment that is constantly in need of repair. The House That Beer Built program will provide a home for the Legawi family with space to grow as they eagerly await for Aster’s husband to join them in Greeley.

“The Legawis here in Colorado are incomplete,” says Anna Carr, Program Evaluation VISTA for Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity. “Aster’s husband, the children’s father, has been trying for years to leave Ethiopia and join his family. Aster says that in that situation it is hard to have hope, but the thought of being able to give her children a home that is theirs, and to have such a home ready for her husband to come home to—this gives her and her children hope. That is what this donation is doing for the Legawi family.”

Brewed with Citra, Strata and Idaho Gem Hops, 10K IPA: House That Beer Built will be available on July 9 at the Greeley taproom, with limited distribution across the brewery’s footprint, while supplies last. Check the brewery’s beer finder for availability.

WeldWerks launched its 10K IPA series last March with the UNITE edition to support the University of Northern Colorado’s efforts in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programming. Every quarter, WeldWerks will donate at least $10,000 in proceeds from the sale of the beer to a rotating nonprofit partner. This summer the brewery hopes to provide a big impact on the Legawi family.

“Community Partners like WeldWerks are truly what make our work possible. By supporting our mission, they are making a family’s dream of homeownership come true. We could not be more grateful for their support,” says Lowrey Moyer, Senior Development Director for Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity.

Maui Brewing Adds Mosaic Mo’Betta to Year-Round Lineup

July 8, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Maui BrewingKihei, Hawaii – Maui Brewing Company is thrilled to announce the inclusion of fan favorite Mosaic Mo’Betta into the year-round lineup. The Double India Pale Ale will replace Double Overhead Double IPA shelf space for the second half of the year.

According to MBC’s Brewmaster, Kim Brisson-Lutz, the decision to feature Mosaic Mo’Betta which was originally brewed in December of 2015 was to honor the hops offering in the Imperial IPA position.

Brisson-Lutz stated, “Our Team is stoked for the release of Mosaic Mo’Betta. While Double Overhead IPA has a large demand, Mosaic Mo’Betta will quickly become a new go-to beer. The brew team wanted to celebrate one of our favorite and expressive hops (Mosaic). This Double IPA is super quaffable and drinks more like a single IPA along with tropical and berry like flavors.”

MBC brewed Mosaic Mo’Betta from 2-Row, Munich, and Wheat malts with Simcoe and Mosaic hops. The result is a deep copper appearance, tropical citrus aroma, and notes of berries and citrus to round out the juicy flavor. Mosaic Mo’Betta, at 8.0% ABV and 70 IBUs, will be available in 4-pack cans and draft in Hawaii. MBC is a fiercely local company and has remained steadfast regarding local production.

The MBC team are stewards of their communities and the ‘aina, and curators of the craft beer way of life. Their beers have been recognized worldwide for quality and innovation.

Temperance Beer Company Releases Beer Benefiting Mental Health

July 7, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Temperance Beer CompanyEVANSTON, IL – Evanston’s Temperance Beer Co. is releasing a new beer in collaboration with Hope For The Day, a nonprofit movement empowering the conversation on proactive suicide prevention and mental health education.

THINGS WE DON’T SAY IPA: Craft Beer For Mental Health project was created to help shift how we approach mental health by encouraging people to talk about their experiences and feelings, both good and bad, and to demonstrate the importance of asking for help when we need it.

“We all deal with mental health challenges at some point, especially this past year, and unfortunately especially in our industry” says Temperance’s founder, Josh Gilbert, “yet longstanding stigmas around mental health still keep us from talking about our challenges. Beer is the best beverage to get a conversation started, so we jumped at the chance to brew Things We Don’t Say and brew a beer that would get the conversation going about mental health.”

Temperance’s version is a smooth and balanced West Coast IPA that beckons you with its enticing aromas of damp pine needles, lemon, bubblegum, and everyone’s favorite loop-based fruit cereal. The first sip starts with grapefruit-rind flavors and finishes with a pleasant lingering bitterness.

“The stigma associated with mental health issues is, in many ways, preventing people from getting the essential help they need. That’s why I truly believe in the work that the Things We Don’t Say project is committed to doing, and I’m incredibly humbled to participate in such a deserving cause,” says Temperance Beer Co.’s Head Brewer Mike VanCamp. “This project also hits close to home. Having PTSD has been incredibly isolating, and scary at times. Over the years, my friends and family have been more involved in my journey, by asking questions and listening intently. The walls began to drop. All I ask is that we as people pay attention to our loved ones, ask questions if you feel something is wrong, be present and listen. We all struggle, we all have our demons. Say something, please. We are all in this together. There is hope.”

Temperance will be donating $3 for each 4-pack sold in the Tap Room and 30% of all on-site draft sales will go directly to Hope For The Day.

Beginning Friday, July 2, Things We Don’t Say will be available at the brewery, located at 2000 Dempster Street in Evanston. It will be available from local retailers in the Chicago area, as well.

About Temperance Beer Co

Temperance has never been interested in keeping up with the Joneses and has been creating a whole new neighborhood with their award-winning beers and supporting the community since 2013. The Tap Room has fully re- opened and is the best place to quaff their approachable and delicious beers. The brewery has been featured in numerous media such as TimeOut Chicago, ABC-TV, Zagat, Crain’s Chicago Business, Red Eye, WCIU-TV, WBEZ-FM, and the Chicago Reader. In its first competition, at just over a year old, Temperance took home a Silver Medal from the 2014 Great American Beer Festival® for Gatecrasher, its English-Style IPA, and then won Gold for the same beer in 2016.

Flying Dog Brewery Releases Deepfake Non-Alcoholic IPA

July 7, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Flying Dog BreweryFrederick, Md. – Deepfakes are getting harder and harder to spot these days and Flying Dog Brewery’s latest release is no different. What looks like a delicious IPA from the Frederick-based brewery, wrapped in original Ralph Steadman art and all, is actually the brewery’s first non-alcoholic release, and one that will make you question everything you thought you knew about non-alcoholic beer.

What on the surface smells and tastes like an IPA is in fact a masterful forgery engineered to trick the senses. Using Mosaic, Simcoe and Citra hops, Flying Dog’s innovative brewers have crafted a smooth-drinking brew with an aroma and flavor profile dominated by hop notes of orange, grapefruit, mango and passionfruit.

“Choosing a non-alcoholic beer shouldn’t mean suffering through a tasteless, watery imposter,” said James Maravetz, VP of Marketing at Flying Dog Brewery. “Deepfake gives you the satisfaction of drinking a real beer, without the added calories and alcohol. It would fool anyone.”

While the NA market has dramatically improved in recent years, Deepfake’s hop dominant flavor profile raises the bar. The experts in Flying Dog’s brewhouse went back to their beer school notebooks and tweaked each and every part of the brewing process to ensure they were capturing the maximum flavor compounds every step of the way. The result is a delicious IPA-imposter with a medium body and clean finish. For consumers who want to avoid alcohol for any reason, but don’t want to sacrifice the taste and feel of the real thing, Deepfake is the perfect illusion.

Deepfake Non-Alcoholic IPA is the brewery’s first NA release and the newest addition to their year-round lineup. The NA IPA starts shipping to distributors on July 2, 2021 in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans.

About Flying Dog Brewery:

As one of the fastest-growing regional craft breweries in the United States, Flying Dog has been brewing world-class beer that pushes the confines of traditional styles for 30 years. Flying Dog attracts everyone from craft beer connoisseurs to those just catching the wave with up to 20 styles available at any given time. Introduced to Flying Dog by the Gonzo writer Hunter S. Thompson, artist Ralph Steadman has produced original art for Flying Dog’s labels since 1995. Recent accolades for Flying Dog include its Pale Ale ranked as the #1 American Pale Ale in the U.S. by The New York Times.

Bent Water Brewing Company Releases Second Installment in Lynn Tribute Series

July 2, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Bent Water BrewingLYNN, Mass. – Bent Water Brewing Company is releasing their second installment in its Lynn Tribute Series, a rotating New England IPA that showcases unique ingredients and names that highlight stories and features of the brewery’s home city of Lynn.

The second installment of the Lynn Tribute Series is named Timeless, a nod to Lynn’s historic Diamond District, as well as the timeless features of the city itself: its location by the sea, its diversity and culture, and its reputation for great food, art and people.

Timeless has a smooth, full mouthfeel with a touch of bitterness to balance the slight malt sweetness. It was brewed with Trident, Sultana, BRU-1, and Columbus hops, a list of hops that aren’t commonly found in many popular New England IPAs.

“For this installment in the series, we wanted to try using some hops that don’t get as much attention,” said Adam Denny Golab, Head Brewer at Bent Water and Lynn resident. “It’s good for us from an educational standpoint: we’re able to use this beer both to highlight another aspect of Lynn, while showing customers some hops that might be new to them.”

Trident is a Pacific Northwest blend of hops that packs a citrus and tropical fruit punch. Sultana provides notes of pineapple and pine. And BRU-1, developed less than two years ago, brings aromas of stone fruit backed by soft spice. The finished product blends fruit notes with pine and resin for an earthy, yet tropical, New England IPA experience.

Timeless will be available in Massachusetts later this week, and in partner states in the following weeks.
