Faubourg Brewing Releases Beignet Au Lait and 19.2 Oz Cans for Football Season

October 16, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Faubourg Brewing

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – Faubourg Brewing Co., the oldest operating brewery in New Orleans, released its new fall seasonal and launched two of its year-round beers in 19.2 oz. cans. Beignet Au Lait Imperial Blonde Ale is available in 12 oz. six packs, and Faubourg Lager and DAT’SUMA Satsuma IPA are now also available in 19.2 oz. cans.

”Our Beignet au Lait coffee blonde is the first in a series of new seasonal beers that Faubourg is set to introduce each quarter. Beignet au Lait debuted in our brewery tasting room last year and was one of the fastest selling innovation beers we made in 2020. We’re excited to now add it to for wholesale distribution throughout our Gulf Coast markets,”  said Jim Birch, General Manager of Faubourg Brewing Company.

The first of many upcoming seasonal releases, Faubourg Beignet Au Lait is an Imperial Blonde Ale inspired by the classic pairing of beignets and café au lait. Crafted with Pilsner and Vienna malts and Cascade hops, Beignet Au Lait has a soft, malty sweetness. Cold brew coffee, vanilla, and lactose give this medium-bodied ale a rich mouthfeel. Golden in color with a medium-dry finish, Beignet Au Lait celebrates the iconic local flavors of New Orleans.

Along with its seasonal offering, Faubourg is releasing two of its top sellers, Faubourg Lager and DAT’SUMA, in a 19.2 oz. format. Over the past few years, the popularity of the 19.2 ounce “stovetop” can size has grown rapidly, largely due to demand in sports arenas and music venues. The larger cans are perfect for grabbing at concerts or sports games or for those looking to enjoy “just one” beer.

In addition to retailers across the city, Faubourg hopes to make their new 19.2 oz. cans available at many more bars, music venues, and stadiums across the state. Fans of the New Orleans Saints will be able to enjoy this new package in a fully-packed Caesars Superdome for the first time in two years.

Faubourg Lager is the brewery’s flagship pilsner and is a full-flavored and exceptionally well-balanced brew made with just barley, hops, 100% pure filtered water, and yeast. Clocking in at 4.8% ABV, Faubourg Lager is the neighborhood beer of New Orleans, an easy-drinking lager everyone can enjoy.

Faubourg DAT’SUMA is a 7.2% ABV IPA made with real satsumas. Quickly becoming a local favorite, the light citrus burst of DAT’SUMA is balanced with a heavy dose of Amarillo and Azacca hops.

Faubourg Brewing Co. beers are available for purchase on draft, in cans, bottles, and six/twelve packs at fine retailers across Louisiana and the Gulf South and at its brewery in New Orleans East.

About Faubourg Brewing Co.

Faubourg Brewing Company is the oldest operating brewery in New Orleans and was founded as Dixie Brewing Company in New Orleans in 1907. Hurricane Katrina decimated the brewery in August of 2005, forcing the company to relocate production out of state until Tom and Gayle Benson, owners of the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans, purchased a majority share of the business. Committed to making our home more united, strong and resilient for future generations, Faubourg Brewing Company was announced as the new name of the iconic brewery in 2020. The Faubourg Brewing Company is completely locally owned and not affiliated with any national or foreign brewing conglomerates.

Lone Tree Brewing to Release Mustard Style Rye with Kik’s Spreads at Fifth Annual Fall Market

October 15, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Lone Tree Brewing

LONE TREE, Colorado – Lone Tree Brewing will host their fifth Annual Fall Market on Saturday, October 16 from 11am to 4pm. They will release a collaboration beer with one of the market vendors, Kiki’s Spreads, to mark the occasion.

Not only boasting Lone Tree’s usual delicious brews and relaxed brewery atmosphere, this event offers guests an outdoor art and craft market in the brewery parking lot. A wide variety of local vendors will be present, and everything from handmade soaps to local meat and produce will be available for perusing and purchase while guests sip on the freshly tapped Rye So Flustered.

While beer mustard can be picked up at just about any grocery store, mustard beer is much harder to find on the shelves or in taprooms. Enter: Rye So Flustered, a rye beer brewed with four whole jars of Kiki’s Original Chickpea Mustard Spread (one in the mash, another in the boil, and the last two during fermentation), this beer is light bodied and dry finishing. The subtle spice of the rye blends beautifully with the tangy mustard kick from Kiki’s and added mustard seed and coriander. Its distinctive flavor is a perfect match for browsing the local markets in the early fall weather.

Kiki’s Spreads will also be present and offering samples of their chickpea spreads, along with tents from Two Ravens Soap, Light Provisions, Mountain Gypsea, Gypsy Souls, Wooden That Be Nice, 5280 Can Art, Burlyman Woodworks, LLC, Catellier Made Leather, Spooky Bat Designs, Poppy Colorful Art, J.A.D.E. Healing, Brother Mel’s BBQ, and laserlab.io.

The Mac N Noodles food truck will also be on site, providing guests with a diverse menu of artisan crafted macaroni and cheese.

ABOUT LONE TREE BREWING COMPANY

Lone Tree Brewing Company was the first brewery in Lone Tree, Colorado that opened near Park Meadows Mall in 2011. The neighborhood-focused, family-friendly brewery and tasting room regularly hosts community events that gather around a stylistically diverse lineup of flagship, seasonal, and limited release beers. Lone Tree’s cans are sold across the state of Colorado, and in select locations in Kansas. Its draft beer is poured at many bars and restaurants across its distribution footprint as well.

ABOUT KIKI’S SPREADS

Born out of a desire for a substantial snack that would be healthy, delicious, and that the vast majority of folks could enjoy, Kiki’s Spreads are the unexpected flavor addition food didn’t know it was missing. Kiki’s Spreads are different, hearty, and not just a hot dog topper. From pretzels, hard boiled eggs, wraps, and zoodles, to cheeses, meats, fish, or straight out of the jar, Kiki’s pairs well with life!

Hopworks Urban Brewery and Aslan Brewing Join Up for IPA Collab

October 15, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Hopworks Urban Brewery

PORTLAND, Oregon – Hopworks Urban Brewery, the first B Corp brewery in the Pacific Northwest, is releasing a beer in collaboration with fellow B Corp Aslan Brewing of Bellingham, Washington: Eco Freak IPA.  This beer was designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating locally sourced, organic ingredients, and Salmon-Safe hops from yet another B Corp, Roy Farms.

“We are always looking for ways to express our sustainability through the lens of beer. Bringing two B Corps together was paramount,” said Christian Ettinger, founder and brewmaster at Hopworks. “We asked each other what the most meaningful way to be ‘eco’ in the brewery space was, and decided that organic, Salmon-Safe, and local was an interesting intersection of three things that, on their own, are remarkable and impactful–then we then brought them all together in one beer. The beauty of collaborative beers is not only pushing each other on the recipe, but on the process too.”

Eco Freak IPA ($12) is available on tap and in 16 oz. 4-packs at independent grocers and at Hopworks’ two locations on SE Powell Boulevard in Portland and SE Mill Plain Boulevard in Vancouver, Washington. It can also be found in Aslan Brewing Co.’s taprooms in Seattle and Bellingham, Washington.

Eco Freak IPA:

This eco-friendly hazy IPA has a juicy tangerine-and-peach cocktail on the nose from Sabro hops. The malt lends a smooth platform and a lighter body, allowing hints of pineapple and coconut to sparkle through. All ingredients were sourced locally and sustainably from Roy Farms and Skagit Valley Malt. 5.8% ABV. 20 IBU. Releases September 29th.

About Hopworks Urban Brewery

Founded in Portland, Oregon, in 2008 by Christian and Brandie Ettinger, Hopworks Urban Brewery creates world-class beer and food with sustainable business practices that protect the environment and support our community. Family-owned and operated, Hopworks sources thoughtfully, operates efficiently and minimizes waste in an effort to protect the planet. The company’s 20-barrel brewery produces 10,000 barrels of beer a year for Hopworks’ brewpubs and distribution throughout Cascadia. Hopworks is the first Certified B Corporation brewery in the Pacific Northwest.

About Aslan Brewing Co.

Cape May Brewing Company Announces Release of Honey Porter 12-ounce Cans

October 14, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Cape May Brewing

New Jersey – Cape May Brewing Company is excited to announce that Honey Porter will be distributed in 12-ounce cans for the first time this month, alongside its continued distribution in draft year-round. Honey Porter is a 5.4% ABV brown porter that is deceptively smooth, easy to drink, and features a light body with a hint of sweetness.

“Honey Porter is a beer that got its start when I was homebrewing in my Brooklyn bathtub, and the recipe as a whole hasn’t changed much since,” says Cape May Brewing Company CEO Ryan Krill. “We pride ourselves in providing the same experiences people know and love every time they take a sip or open a can, and the same is certainly true for this beer.”

Honey Porter has been a staple of Cape May Brewing Company’s lineup since the company’s inception, and has strong roots in South Jersey.

“We are thrilled to be working with Cape May Brewery on the new can launch of their Honey Porter made with Jersey Fresh honey,” says New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Doug Fisher.

Using local honey was key in Honey Porter being the first beer in New Jersey to carry the Jersey Fresh designation.

“The ‘Made with Jersey Fresh’ program is available to food and drink companies that use NJ agricultural produce in their products, helping us extend the Jersey Fresh season to year-round,” Fisher says. “We encourage other companies that are interested in partnering with us to reach out. We can all raise a glass to promoting New Jersey agriculture!”

The Jersey Fresh program launched in 1984 to help inform consumers about the availability of produce grown in New Jersey. It has now become a benchmark for other state-grown agricultural marketing programs. The logo indicates that the contents have been inspected and meet quality standards equal to or better than U.S. No. 1 (the chief grade for most produce). This standard adds a quality assurance note to the overall Jersey Fresh marketing program that is welcomed by wholesale buyers and consumers who want high quality products that are uniformly sized and consistently packaged.

Honey Porter is Cape May’s second-oldest mainstay, right behind the iconic Cape May IPA, and was previously bottled in 2015, 2016, and 2017, with a limited can release in the Tasting Room in 16-ounce cans in 2020.

“We wanted to create a special label for this beer, which has been such an integral part of our flagship series for so many years,” says Marketing Director Alicia Grasso. “The honeycombed image represents our interconnectedness as a state as well as the importance of each individual area and piece to the whole. This label is a way to pay homage to our state and the incredible people we work with that make this beer possible.”

Honey Porter won a bronze medal at the 2019 Great American Beer Festival, and many devoted fans relish a dark beer option that they can enjoy year-round.

“With such a focus on IPAs throughout the industry, Honey Porter is a refreshing change of pace,” says Chief Brewing Officer & Brewmaster Brandon Greenwood. “It’s a traditional style brewed with English malts and a touch of local flavor with the locally-sourced honey. It is a delicious beer with a fine balance of bold, yet delicate flavors.”

Cape May first brewed Honey Porter in October of 2011, making this release Honey Porter’s very own 10-year anniversary.

Cape May Brewing is thrilled to give fans the option of taking this brew home with them as consumers shift to darker beer options this fall.

Honey Porter will be available in 12-ounce cans throughout New Jersey and Delaware starting Monday, October 18th, with eastern Pennsylvania distribution beginning Monday, October 25th.

About Cape May Brewing Company:

CMBC started in 2011, with three guys making one beer in a 1,500 square-foot space. Now, between their administrative, production, and distribution facilities in Cape May and Egg Harbor Township, they have over 74,000 square feet of space and are still #brewingstrong at the Cape May Airport. They have several hundred flagship, seasonal, and small-batch brews under their umbrella, distributed throughout New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Their original space is now dedicated to experimental brewing and their award-winning Tasting Room, with a separate, industrial brewing facility across the street. Bridging the gap between the two is their new seasonal outdoor Brewtanical Garden, which provides guests with an alternative space to enjoy popular CMBC beers, complete with attached restrooms and its own bar and servers. Two Brothers’ Heavy Handed Wet-Hopped IPA Returns for 20th Year

October 14, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Two Brothers BrewingWARRENVILLE, IL – Since its formation in 1996, Two Brothers Brewing Company has constantly looked for ways to experiment, innovate, and push the boundaries with flavors in beer.

So, when the brothers heard about a new brewing process involving “wet hops,” their interested was instantly peaked.

“It was something that only a couple breweries in California were trying at that time,” said Two Brothers co-founder, Jason Ebel. “But it was something we definitely knew we wanted to try.” They contacted their friends at Puterbaugh Farms and set up a process to pick fresh hops straight from the vine and immediately ship them overnight to the brewery. The brewing team then added those hopes, at 6-times the normal amount, into the whirlpool first thing the next morning. This sped-up process of brewing with a massive amount of freshly picked or wet hops created a distinct flavor profile, with big, bold hop notes coming to the forefront.

And with that, Heavy Handed Wet-Hopped IPA was born. That was in 2001. Since then, Two Brothers has selected hops during every hop harvest (late August, early September) when the hops are fully matured and have reached peak ripeness. These hops are brought back to the brewery and instantly added to the brewing process to create the unique wet hop character.

“Nowadays, wet-hopped IPAs are fairly common,” said Ebel. “We thought we could use our experience and love of innovation to create the first Midwest-version of that beer. It was a huge hit with our fans and we’ve been making it ever since.”

Over the years, Two Brothers has used a number of different hops in Heavy Handed. This year will feature Chinook hops from Hop Head Farms in Michigan. The wet Chinook hops will produce spicy and piney characteristics, with notes of grapefruit and a noticeable bitter finish.

Available in 16-oz can 4-packs and on draft, Heavy Handed will be available throughout all Two Brothers distribution areas in the coming weeks.

About Two Brothers Brewing Company

Two Brothers Brewing Company was founded by Jim and Jason Ebel in late 1996. What started out as a two-man passion project, Two Brothers has grown into a lifestyle brand,  including award-winning craft beer, three artisan restaurants, specialty-grade coffee, a distribution company and a line of hand-crafted spirits. With an unrelenting passion for producing high-quality, well-balanced beers that push the boundaries of flavor, Two Brothers remains 100% family owned and staunchly independent.

Mother Earth Brewing Company Brings Back ‘Wet Hop Dreams’

October 13, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Mother Earth Brewing CompanyVista, CA & Nampa, ID
– Mother Earth is welcoming back its one of its original annual releases in Wet Hop Dreams, this time featuring PNW all-star hop varietal, Sabro. Keeping with the tradition of selecting a single fresh hop varietal each year, Mother Earth’s legacy brew comes in at a very drinkable 6.7%, with Sabro taking center stage in front of an appropriately muted malt bill of just Pale 2-Row and wheat malts.

A relatively new player in the hop arena when compared to some of its other popular IPA counterparts like Citra and Mosaic, Sabro is known for imparting distinct tangerine, coconut, tropical fruit, and stone fruit aromas, with hints of cedar, mint, and cream, attributes that Mother Earth strove to highlight this year.

“We’ve been experimenting with this varietal a bit in our Project X Series and were really impressed with the results. Some hops can be tricky to work with on their own but we felt that Sabro had a lot of unique flavor and aroma qualities that needed to be explored without the influence of other hops. Of course, when you have the opportunity to get them fresh, you can really capture the true essence of the hop.”

– Chris Baker, Director of Brewing Operations – Mother Earth

Wet Hop Dreams will be available in 16oz 4 packs and on draft beginning in mid-October at various craft beer outlets and Mother Earth’s Nampa brewery tasting room. Details are available on the brewery’s blog/news page at motherearthbrewco.com/word.

About Mother Earth

Mother Earth Brew Co. develops hand crafted artisanal ales in year-round, as well as seasonal and specialty offerings. With multi-state as well as international distribution serviced by breweries in Vista, CA and Nampa, ID; Mother Earth’s award-winning beers help define and maintain the standard of excellence expected of independent craft brewers.

When asked why this season is so exciting, Sales Director Pauline Knighton-Prueter had this to say: “We jam packed almost every type of beer a good human could ask for into a three month period: nitro stouts, big IPAs, classic Short’s innovations with wild ingredients that our audience has been BEGGING for (so please drink it all so we can keep putting out special requests!). Oh, and I can’t forget about two kick-ass variety packs—one perfect for hosting and the other gifting. It’s a good Short’s beer drinking time of year.”

Spruce Pilsner – Imperial Pilsner – 9.4% ABV, 70 IBU 6 pack bottles, draft Every June the Short’s team gathers and heads to the wilderness to hand-trim the fresh, juicy tips off of local blue spruce trees so that we can make a couple of very special beers, including Spruce Pilsner. This is a historic beer for us, one of the 13 beers in the 2007 Imperial Beer Series, and admittedly one of Joe Short’s favorites. But how does it taste, you ask? Exactly the way a spruce tree smells. If you love gin, if you love the smell of pine, you will love this beer. Distribution area: MI

Superfluid – Imperial IPA – 9.1% ABV, 85 IBU 6 pack bottles, 6 pack cans, draft Seasonal brew: Available October to February Sorachi Ace, Citra, and Columbus hops are given center stage in Superfluid, a Double IPA that blends the power of a Midwest IPA with the fruit-forward pleasure of a West Coast IPA. Wild Heaven Beer Announces Collaboration With The Cork Bros

October 10, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Wild Heaven Beer

ATLANTA, Georgia – Wild Heaven Beer, Georgia’s 4th oldest production craft brewery, has teamed up with Atlanta-based strategic content creators, The Cork Bros, for a unique beer collaboration called DoppelDiggity Doppelbock. A German-style Doppelbock made with a traditional Ghanaian street food called ‘Kelewele’—fried super-ripe plantain with strong flavors of cloves, ginger, and African spices, DoppelDiggity marks the first collaboration between the two entities.

“Its beautiful and unique flavor immediately transports the taster back to the Sekondi streets I grew up on,” says Michael Corkrum of The Cork Bros. “Expect playful tropical plantain and clove notes in the nose. Deep earthy spices mesh with aromatic and toasted malts that complement well the round vanilla and ginger tones. Finishes clean with lingering island flavors,” continues Wild Heaven Brewmaster, Eric Johnson.Beginning Friday, October 8, 2021, DoppelDiggity will be available as a limited draft-only taproom preview at both Wild Heaven locations (Avondale Estates, West End). Additionally, the Wild Heaven executive team, with The Cork Bros, will be at the West End location for an invite-only VIP launch event to discuss how they came together with Wild Heaven to make DoppelDiggity Doppelbock for Atlanta.

This rich and complex beer launch comes just in time for cooler weather in Atlanta. Look for a larger barrel-aged release which will take place sometime in 2022 (between 6-12 months from now). The barrel-aged version will be finished in 500ml cork and cage bottles at both Wild Heaven taproom locations and available in market to the Atlanta metro area via Georgia Crown Distributing.

New Belgium Brewing Recognizes National Coming Out Day with a Special Release and a Call for Anti-discrimination Policy

October 10, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

New Belgium BrewingFORT COLLINS, Colorado – To recognize National Coming Out Day, New Belgium Brewing is asking members of Congress to join them in supporting the Equality Act to guarantee an inclusive future for all. Coinciding with this year’s special release of New Belgium’s signature Biere de Queer, New Belgium is sending cans directly to hundreds of members of Congress, inviting them to join in a conversation and engage with personal stories – over a beer, of course – about the need to pass this legislation. While seventy percent of Americans support the Equality Act, Congress has yet to make it law.

or by following @NewBelgium or #BrewedForAll on Instagram. Every can of Biere de Queer is also a vehicle to collect these personal stories, via the QR code embedded in the label. BrewedForAll.comAlong with the beer, New Belgium is sharing with federal policymakers a growing collection of personal reflections sourced from coworkers and beer drinkers across America and voicing support for the Equality Act and expressing why they think it’s important to make the world a more inclusive place for those coming out, whether for themselves personally or in support of someone else’s journey. Anyone can view these stories and contribute their own by visiting

“We brewed Biere de Queer to honor the stories of so many people who face a difficult time coming out,” said New Belgium Brewer Kelly McKnight. “I’m proud to be able to do what I love and fortunate to be able to bring my whole self to work, but so many others can’t. The Equality Act will help ensure that queer people are protected against discrimination and can live in a world where it isn’t terrifying to come out as the person you are.”

Currently, LGBTQ+ people in the U.S. face a patchwork of civil rights protections that impact their safety and ability to go about everyday life. In many states, LGBTQ+ people are at risk of being fired, evicted, denied service, and more, simply based on who they are. The Equality Act would create a national standard that provides LGBTQ+ people explicit and equal protection against discrimination under federal law – the same protections as other Americans.

New Belgium is proud to support the equity and inclusion of LGBTQ+ people year-round. The brewery employs the first Diversity, Equity & Inclusion specialist in the craft beer industry and is the very first craft brewery recognized as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Corporate Equality Index, with a perfect score of 100. HRC’s list is the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies, practices and benefits relevant to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer employees. New Belgium is also a Member of the Human Rights Campaign Business Coalition for the Equality Act to advocate against discriminatory public policy.

“At New Belgium, we brew for all. For thirty years, we have worked to support the LGBTQ+ community and offer a safe, understanding place for everyone to be their full selves, whether they’re our coworkers or our customers,” said New Belgium CEO Steve Fechheimer. “Everyone should be able to experience that freedom, wherever they are, and that’s why we support the Equality Act. No one should face discrimination or fear losing their livelihood because of who they are.”

Biere de Queer will be available in limited quantities at New Belgium’s liquid centers in Fort Collins, Colo., Asheville, N.C., and San Francisco, CA, as well as online. $1 for every Biere de Queer sold will benefit local LGBTQ+ advocacy groups.
