DuClaw Keeps it ‘Low Key’ with Three New Core Brews

May 2, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

DuClaw BrewingBALTIMORE, Maryland – The brewery is rolling out a Session IPA, Low Calorie Wheat Ale, and an American Red Ale.

To expand its Core lineup, DuClaw Brewing Company just unveiled its spin on three classic styles, including ‘Low Key,’ a wheat ale that marks the first low-calorie beer release in the brewery’s 25-year history.

The crisp, light-bodied brew is only 95 calories with a low 3.6% ABV. Each sip is approachable, featuring soft and sweet notes of pineapple coupled with subtle tropical flavors.

“Looking back at our Core lineup, we saw an opportunity to diversify, and add flair without sacrificing flavor,” said DuClaw CEO and Founder, Dave Benfield.

“Across the board, we tested several pilot batches to achieve the perfect balance of clean and crushable styles. A great example of this is our ‘Relaxed Fit’ Session IPA, where we conquered the challenge of nailing a punchy hop flavor despite a low ABV.”

For longtime fans of DuClaw, ‘Misfit Red’ is a friendly face, as it’s been in production for more than two decades. According to Benfield, the industry is seeing a resurgence in Amber styles, and this elevation of ‘Misfit Red’ is an interesting take because it’s a blend between an Amber ale and an Irish red ale.

The following beers are now available on draft and in 12oz cans at select locations.

‘Low Key’ Wheat Ale (3.6% ABV): Look on the light side with this one-of-a-kind brew. Bursting with pineapple juice yet low on calories, this sip was made for sweet moments of chill. Enjoy the easy tropical breeze of mango and passion fruit, coupled with crisp notes of citrus and pine. After all, sometimes less IS more.

‘Relaxed Fit’ Session IPA (4.8% ABV):  Time to sit back, relax and relish in this pivotal moment. Because this is where pine meets pineapple. Where lemon meets lime. This is where a good pour finds your great times. Forget class. Smooth is back in session.

‘MisFit Red’ American Ale (5% ABV): This is not a rebel, a lone wolf, or a misfit. This brew is an individualist, a creative, a visionary. Quietly thriving in production for more than two decades, DuClaw is now elevating the American-style smooth and malty red ale into the spotlight.

Roadhouse Brewing Debuts ‘The Phlow’ Sunshine IPA

May 2, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

RoadhouseJACKSON HOLE, Wyoming – Roadhouse Brewing Co. marks the arrival of warmer temps with a new brew: The Phlow, a Sunshine IPA (5% ABV) inspired by the culture of stand-up paddle boarding and in keeping with the brewery’s mantra to Live Deep.

A summer refresher just in time for outdoor adventuring,The Phlow has no fresh fruit added, but features notes from hops that deceptively insinuate the inclusion of such ingredients.

Says Brewmaster Max Shafer, “We’ve learned a lot over the years about how, where and when to use hops – and this beer showcases a lot of those new ways we have learned to really let the hops shine.”

The Phlow features a few new hops to the brewery’s production line up, including Sabro and Vista, the latter being the featured hop in The Phlow, at over 3lbs per BBL, because of the tropical punch flavors it gives this summertime IPA.

“Vista was a hop we knew we needed to showcase because it is one we have been playing around a lot with over the past few years,” continues Shafer, “Our involvement with The Hop Research Council allowed us to be one of the first breweries in the US to get our hands on Vista, and honestly it was just love at first sight for me.”

The Phlow will be released in WY, MT, CO, CA, ID and MT in late April, 2022.

Govoni, co-owner of Big Storm Brewing. “Now here we are releasing a beer together. We are big fans of Craig as a person and an artist, so partnering with him and his family was a no brainer. It was obvious in our meeting that spending time with loved ones is very important to both groups, and we can’t think of a better way to do that than with a cold one in your hands.”

Craig has been headlining theCraig Campbell Tour, by God since his “by God” single was released at the end of February. Theneo-traditional hit maker wrote the moving song with Thomas Archer and Jordan Walker, and the single is availableHERE through his Grindstone Records label.

With a commitment to exceptional customer service, dedication to quality products and the ambition to explore opportunities left unexplored, Big Storm has become a leader in the craft beer industry and beyond.

About Craig Campbell

In a world fueled by the smoke and mirror act of overnight success, Campbell has long been admired for his patience and persistence on the road less travelled. A consistent balancing act of traditional values and modern industry trends, Campbell is also considered by many to be one of the most talented yet under the radar stars, across all genres. The magic of the keys brought him his hunger for music as a child. The good ole’ down home boy grew up playing his mother’s piano and singing in church. After graduating high school, he took a job as a corrections officer in his hometown of Lyons, Georgia. But music never left his side. Taking a cue from the sounds of classic country and idols like Travis Tritt and Randy Travis, Campbell started a band and played local and national bar gigs. When the guitar player quit, Campbell took that as a sign to chase his dreams all the way to Nashville, Tennessee.

With two Starting in 2002, the young hopeful spent the next several years paying his dues as a demo singer by day and Lower Broadway gigger by night. He connected with fellow South Georgia native Luke Bryan and started touring as his keyboard player. A year and a half long keyboard stint with Tracy Byrd soon followed, and he took over as bandleader down at The Stage on Tuesday nights on his non-touring days. His smooth chops and hot blooded stage presence soon caught the eye of industry execs and in 2009, Campbell signed his first record deal.

His debut single, “Family Man,” hit theBillboard top 15 in 2011. “Outta My Head” also cracked the top 15, catchy tune “Fish” garnered more than 10 million demand streams. His 2014 breakout hit “Keep Them Kisses Comin’” was on its way up the charts when Campbell got the unexpected that his label had closed. He and his devoted team continued to press radio stations around the country, so much so that the single ended an impressive run well inside the Top 10, which is unheard of for a song with no financial backing.

He signed with Red Bow Records, a division of the Broken Bow umbrella, and “Tomorrow Tonight” made it into the top 40, followed by perhaps his most poignant and well-known work to date, “Outskirts of Heaven.” “Outskirts” showcased Campbell’s vulnerability and deep rooted faith and was praised by Rolling Stoneand Taste of Country, among others.

The impact of “Outskirts” prompted media appearances and memorable performances at nationally televised NFL games, the TODAY show, CMA Fest, and the Grand Ole Opry, the latter of which he has made over 50 appearances to date. And in a full circle moment, the down home Georgia boy reunited with buddy Luke Bryan on his highly successful 2017 Huntin’, Fishin’, and Lovin’ Every Day Tour.

In the summer of 2018, Campbell released his first new music in five years with his “See You Try” EP on Broken Bow. The title track became an instant crowd pleaser with its confident, flirty lyrics and boot stompin’ melody. The EP also found a home for both an electric and acoustic version of “Outskirts of Heaven.” By August of 2018, Campbell and Broken Bow had mutually parted ways. After a two-year break, he came back last year with the highly anticipated single, “It’s About Time.”

Mother Earth Brewing Company Releases Two New Beers for 12th Anniversary

May 1, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Mother Earth BrewingVista, CA & Nampa, ID – Mother Earth has been building speed through the first quarter of the year and is poised to hit its stride this week with the release of two back to back brews – one new and one familiar. The launch of the former, Wolf Mother, comes just a week before the release of Mother Earth’s Anniversary Ale, Big Mother.

The naming convention is about all the Triple IPA’s carnivorous cousin has in common with their annual release, though. Wolf Mother, the latest in the brewery’s Project X Series, favors drinkability and a cloudy, New England-style appearance as opposed to the indulgent, boozy variety the brewery has become known for every May since its inception.

Tasting notes also vary considerably between the two. Big Mother comes through with a one-two punch of hop dankness & tropical fruit. Triple digit IBUs are balanced by a touch of Vienna malt to tame the 10.5% beast, with a dry finish. Wolf Mother, on the other hand, presents with a fluorescent yellow hue with bright hop notes of lemon peel and pineapple, and finishes clean and smooth at just 6.8%.

“Typically we like to let Big Mo stand on its own around this time of year, but with Project X falling in the same release window, we decided to brew a beer that would really compliment it while at the same time would be appreciated on its own merits. They’re really two very different beers, but both exceptional in their own right. Of course playing around with BRU-1 was one of the highlights. Pineapple and stone fruit are really at the forefront of these beers.”

-Chris Baker – Director of Brewing Ops, Mother Earth Brew Co.

Wolf Mother Hazy IPA is out this week in almost all Mother Earth’s major markets. Look for Big Mother Triple IPA to follow the first week of May. Customers will be able to use the brewery’s interactive Beer Finder to locate both beers nearest them at findmotherearthbrewing.com or at Mother Earth’s Anniversary weekend celebration, happening at both Idaho tap room locations the weekend of May 4th. Additional event details can be found on the brewery’s social media accounts or on their blog.

We’ve put our own handcrafted spin on it by dry-hopping Coaster Pils with American aroma hops Simcoe and Mosaic with their notes of citrus, passionfruit and apricot. All those elements are brought forth with the German lager yeast we use with its floral and fruity aromas and clean flavors. I’ve been drawn to great pilsners in the summer or really at any time forever; in fact I am enjoying one right now while we are talking about it for this press release,” says Shaun O’Sullivan, Co-Founder and Brewmaster at 21st Amendment Brewery.
