Jiant Launches Jungle Juice

October 6, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

JiantJiant announces the launch of Jungle Juice, the modern beverage brand’s third hard kombucha to be released as part of their celebrated seasonal release series. Jungle Juice brings together sweet cherries, bright pineapple, zesty orange, and fresh-brewed hibiscus and yerba mate. Jungle Juice delivers a delightful splash of nostalgia, as an elevated and tropical riff on fruit punch. This light but layered blend is brewed from all organic and non-GMO ingredients, including Dragonwell Green Tea, sustainably-sourced honey, and real fruit.

“We drew inspiration for this seasonal release from the historical origins of Jungle Juice, which contrary to popular belief, did not originate in some fraternity but rather in the jungles of the South Pacific during World War II,” notes Jiant co-founder Larry Haertel Jr. “As the story goes, active-duty American soldiers stationed in the South Pacific lacked access to traditional alcoholic beverages. As a result, they turned to fermenting fruits, plants, and anything they could find in the surrounding jungle to create literal ‘Jungle Juice’.”

Jiant’s version is equally rooted in improvisation, combining unexpected ingredients to create a flavor profile that is both familiar and surprising. Like any good punch, Jungle Juice is fruit-forward, balanced, and party-ready. Starting in October, the 5% ABV hard kombucha will be available in 16oz single cans in select retailers across the country.

Jiant launched their seasonal selections in January 2021, bringing limited-edition offerings to market four times per year, kicking off the program with ‘Cool Beans’ and ‘Taco Tuesday’. Each launch highlights intriguing ingredient combinations that redefine hard kombucha’s flavor potential. Like all of Jiant’s hard kombuchas and hard teas, Jungle Juice is an invigorating choice for consumers seeking a transparent alcoholic beverage alternative.

 ABOUT JIANT:

Founded in 2019 by Larry Haertel Jr and Aaron Telch, Jiant views tea and botanicals as the perfect canvas for a new kind of adult beverage, one that doesn’t rely on conventional ingredients and has a nutritional profile more aligned with what today’s consumer wants. Their approach to hard kombucha, and now hard tea, is traditional in process but unconventional in results, offering beverages that are expressive and interesting while remaining accessible and surprisingly light.

Dallas Cowboys and Revolver Brewing Release 3 Limited Edition Beers

October 6, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Revolver BrewingGRANBURY, TX – This fall, Texas-based Revolver Brewing is joining forces with the Dallas Cowboys and LEGENDS Hospitality to debut three new, limited-edition beers as part of AT&T Stadium’s Teamwork Brews series.

“This fall, we couldn’t be more pumped to bring a taste of the Texas countryside to the football field with the help of the Dallas Cowboys and AT&T Stadium,” says Megan Mares at Revolver Brewing. “From sessionable sippers to more complex, barrel-aged beers, we can’t wait for both beer and sports fans to try them.”

This past Sunday the ladies of the Dallas Cowboys assisted Revolver Brewing’s Brew Master-Megan Mares with the tapping of the Watermelon Hi keg in the Miller Lite House at AT&T Stadium for the Crucial Catch Game. The women who helped brew and bring the beer into the stadium represent women everywhere who have been personally touched by breast cancer.

Revolver’s lineup of specialty beers will include:

Watermelon-Hi: Brewed in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Crucial Catch Cowboys Game, Watermelon-Hi is a kolsch with notes of pale malt, watermelon puree, a touch of honey and then aged with hibiscus for its signature pink hue. Kegged by Revolver’s Commercial Operations Manager Megan Mares and female leaders from the Dallas Cowboys and LEGENDS organizations, the specialty beer will be available for both October home games

2 Beers in a Barrel: For the month of November, the teams at Revolver, the Dallas Cowboys and AT&T stadium wanted to brew something fitting for the personal bourbon barrels of Jerry Jones. After testing over dozens of beers, the result is an unlikely blend of Schwarzbier and Dunkel with bold malt flavors that seamlessly meld with the vanilla and woody notes of the barrel.

Barrel Aged Dem Berries:What better way to celebrate Dem Boys than with a twist on Revolver’s Classic, Dem Berries. The limited-edition brew takes Revolver’s signature blueberry wheat beer with citrus and subtle wheat notes, and ages it in Jones’ family bourbon barrels, and will be available all football season long.

The three limited edition Teamworks Brews by Revolver Brewing will be available at Dallas Cowboys home games at AT&T stadium.

TRU Colors Brewery Launches Across North Carolina, Will Expand Nationally by 2023

October 1, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Tru Colors Brewing

WILMINGTON, N.C. – TRU Colors Brewery is launching its first brew, TRU Light, rolling out in markets across North Carolina. Three years in the making, the product will hit shelves across the state by the end of October, with plans to distribute regionally in early 2022 and scale nationally by 2023. The company, with a stated mission to unite communities to stop divisiveness and violence across America, has recruited and trained a skilled workforce since inception, providing jobs, training, and mentorship to active gang members.

In tandem with their first beer launch, TRU Colors is operating in its new 54,000 square-foot headquarters located in downtown Wilmington. In addition to the state-of-the-art production facility, the new HQ provides exciting wraparound services for their employees, as well as a taproom that will open to the public in early 2022.

“We are excited to get TRU Light in the hands of our neighbors and show them what we have created, and I am proud of all the hard work and effort that has gotten us here,” said George Taylor, Co-Founder, and CEO of TRU Colors. “This is our first step in showing what’s possible when people are open to change, and with TRU Light we hope to spark conversations with friends and family about how we can be there for each other in new and impactful ways.”

At 95 calories and 2.6 carbs, TRU Light is appropriately brewed to become a go-to beer for those celebrating any occasion. The brewery team, helmed by former Brooklyn Brewmaster Adam Young, created TRU Light as a symbol of understanding and unity. The premium light beer carries a low ABV of 4.2% making it drinkable in any season, and has a slightly sweet taste coming from the malt.

“Getting the opportunity to get this beer on the shelves in our community, and eventually nationwide, has been an incredible experience,” says Adam Young, Head Brewer at TRU Colors. “One that has definitely been more impactful thanks to our deeply ingrained social mission.”

The brewery is 33,000 square feet and can produce up to 200 cans per minute. Additionally, it is fully outfitted with 16 fermentation tanks and three bright tanks, a five-vessel 65-barrel brewhouse, and a full canning and kegging line to package and distribute. The facility will be able to produce 1.4 million cases/ equivalents annually. In a previously announced strategic partnership with Molson Coors, TRU Colors plans to expand to Virginia and D.C by early 2022 and distribute to all 50 states within its first 24 months of operation.

Just as TRU is so much more than a beer company, the building is so much more than a basic brewery HQ. The facility includes administrative offices and classrooms, a 1,500 square foot gym with a yoga studio, and a recording studio. All reflecting the company’s vision for the future, these elements align with TRU’s mission of social justice through education, empowerment, and community betterment.

“We are a people-first company,” said Khalilah “KO” Olokunola, Chief People Officer of TRU Colors. “That’s why throughout our building phase we listened to what our employees needed. Some of those things are physical, like a classroom or a gym, but others, like dealing with trauma or learning how to budget for a big expense are harder to see and work on,” she continued. “That’s why we’re unique at TRU Colors, we are here to help people and brew beer in that order.”

Followed by a three-month internship with a mutually selected department, TRU Colors employees first go through an 8-week onboarding program called DisruptU, which focuses on teaching personal and financial wellness, along with leadership, business, and beer skills. After the program is completed, employees move into different parts of the brewery and eventually are brought on as full employees with an equity stake in the company. As a part of the TRU Colors team, new employees are able to leverage their skill and influence in their respective gangs to stop street violence and its drivers, ultimately uniting the Wilmington community and expanding their social mission nationwide.

About TRU Colors

Founded in 2019 by a tech entrepreneur and rival gang leaders from the Bloods, Crips, and GD’s, TRU Colors is a for-profit brewery based in Wilmington, NC with a tightly integrated social mission to stop street violence and unite communities across America. Over 70% of the TRU Colors team are active gang members whose street skills and influence translate into corporate skills and more peaceful streets. TRU Colors is committed to economic equity and provides a livable wage, company-paid healthcare, equity through stock options, health and wellness center, and more. The company’s mission is to brew beer, relationships, and share stories that challenge perceptions and bring understanding that leads to unity.

Santa Monica Brew Works Collaborates with German Craft Brewery for Oktoberfest ‘Sister City’ Beer

October 1, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Santa Monica BrewWorks

SANTA MONICA, California – For the second year in a row, Santa Monica Brew Works (SMBW) has teamed up with Germany’s Hammona Bräu for a unique international brewing collaboration. The craft beer “siblings” announce the limited release of Oktoberfest Märzen – an amber-colored lager brewed with a blend of European and North American ingredients.

Since 1969, Santa Monica (California) and Hamm (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany) have been linked through Sister Cities International, a program whose mission is to create global relationships through an exchange of culture and education.

“For more than 50 years, our cities have shared an appreciation for one another through the Sister Cities program.” Said Scott Francis, SMBW’s Co-Founder, President & CEO. “We think this is the most delicious exchange yet.”

The brewers met via video conference to formulate the recipe and discuss the brewing process.

“For centuries, Oktoberfest has brought people together from all over the world to celebrate fantastic beer.” Said Mario Gadiel, Owner, Co-Founder & Brewer of Hammona Bräu. “This collaboration continues to honor that tradition.”

Oktoberfest Märzen Lager (6.1% ABV), features a blend of German & American hops balanced with old-world malts for a roasty yet smooth flavor with notes of caramel and honey.

“We’re thrilled to see these breweries come together through the spirit of international kinship.” Said Jeff Jarow, President Santa Monica Sister Cities Association. “This partnership is a fun and creative expression of our mission to promote global goodwill.”

Both breweries will release their own rendition of the collaboration brew from their respective Tasting Room outlets. SMBW’s version is available on draft and in 19.2 oz cans to-go.

The limited-edition lager launched last week to commemorate Oktoberfest – the world’s largest celebration of beer. Unfortunately, the traditional festival in Munich was canceled once again due to the coronavirus pandemic – but the brewers believe this special release will provide a festive feeling for beer lovers closer to home.

“We look forward to someday celebrating Oktoberfest together in Hamm.” Added Monika White, Santa Monica Sister Cities Association Vice President for Hamm, Germany. “In the meantime, we’re thrilled to toast our friends virtually.”

The label design captures the spirit of the collaboration. Traditional German-themed iconography represents Hamm, while coastal scenes illustrate Santa Monica’s “Beach Brewed” philosophy. MGH Marketing agency handled label design.

Visit SMBW’s Tasting Room and Beer Garden at 1920 Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica or shop the online store to order for brewery pickup or local delivery.

About Hammona Bräu

Founded in 2018 in Hamm, Westphalia. Hammona Bräu is an award-winning craft brewery run by Mario and Melanie Gadiel. Their fascination for brewing arose during a beer tasting in England, where they enjoyed the diverse flavors and relaxed atmosphere of the growing craft beer scene. Amazed by the variety of flavors, the duo returned to Germany determined to create their own craft beers. What started as a hobby has evolved into much more. The demand from friends and acquaintances grew quickly, and the brewers purchased a 5-barrel brewhouse to keep up. The couples’ daughter, Aimee Lee Gadiel, now also assists with brewery tasks. Melanie and Aimee are Hammona Bräu beer ambassadors and brewery tour hosts. The brewery plans on expanding into a 15-barrel brewhouse soon. In 2020 they were awarded a gold medal by Meininger’s International for their Kellerbier.

About Santa Monica Brew Works

Established in 2014, Santa Monica Brew Works is the first and only locally owned and operated craft production brewery on LA’s Westside. We’re proudly independent and authentically Santa Monica – every beer we produce comes directly from our beach town brewery. Holding ourselves to exacting standards we represent the values of independent brewers with creativity, inclusivity, passion, and resolve. Through devoted craftsmanship and a deep love for our coastal hometown, we brew California-inspired beers for those who live the “Beach Brewed” lifestyle. Visit our Tasting Room and Beer Garden at 1920 Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica or shop the online store to order for brewery pickup, local delivery, or statewide CA shipping.

Brownstein Unveils Design for Yards Brewing Company’s Latest Brew

October 1, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Brownstein Brewery

PHILADELPHIA – In collaboration with Brownstein, Yards Brewing Company has announced the launch of its latest IPA brand: “Level Up IPA.”  The new brew, an India Pale Ale with tropical infusion, aims to forge a new, younger path for the Yards brand — one that is as vibrant as its packaging design and the hoppy flavors and crisp freshness waiting within.

The bold packaging design — reminiscent of a classic platform video game — will allow the beer to stand out on crowded beer shelves, with consumers expecting a flavor experience that packs a punch. A qualitative survey, virtual focus group, and quantitative concept testing led to the development of the brand by narrowing down on the motivations behind the younger target demographic for the brew.  Since 1994, Yards has been brewing “Philly’s beer.” From its garage-sized origins in Manayunk to its current headquarters — a state-of-the-art brewery and taproom facility in Northern Liberties — the company has attained iconic status in the city and has been partnering with Brownstein since 2019 on advertising, packaging, and more to support its brand’s growth.

Level Up IPA follows multiple successful collaborations between Brownstein and Yards Brewing Co., including the branding of Yards’ Featherweight, Philthy, and Unter Dog brews. Brownstein made advertising history last year when its character design for Philthy, Yards Brewing Company’s unfiltered hazy IPA, was inducted into Advertising Week’s Madison Avenue Walk of Fame.

About Brownstein

Brownstein is an independent advertising and public relations agency based in Philadelphia. Founded at the height of the Creative Revolution in 1964, we are one of the longest-running independent agencies in the country, offering expertise across brand strategy, advertising, public relations, social media, and digital services. We build unstoppable brands by helping clients navigate the changing tides of culture and business with a focus on Brand Longevity™, and have worked with a range of companies including IKEA USA, Comcast Xfinity, DuPont™ Sorona®, TruGreen, The GIANT Company, ACI Worldwide, NJM Insurance Group, and Saint-Gobain North America. Brownstein is an Ad Age Small Agency of the Year, a PRNEWS Small Public Relations Firm of the Year finalist, and an inductee into Advertising Week’s Madison Avenue Walk of Fame.

UConn Partners With Kinsmen Brewing To Introduce Husky Hops

September 30, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Kinsmen Brewing

MILLDALE, Connecticut – On Saturday October 16, Rentschler Field will be more than just the venue for the UConn Huskies vs. the Yale Bulldogs, it will be the location for the debut of Husky Hops, a delicious new hazy IPA which is the result of a partnership between the University of Connecticut Division of Athletics and Kinsmen Brewing Co. of Milldale, CT.

“Husky Hops is a great tribute to our Husky spirit,” said David Benedict, UConn Director of Athletics. “We are particularly proud of being able to partner with a growing local company and participating in an industry which is growing throughout Connecticut and the region.”

Husky Hops will be available at concession stands at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field (including special kiosks located in the UConn Alumni section of the stadium) as well as a kiosk at the entrance to the Gampel Pavilion and at concession stands at the XL Center and across multiple sports, including baseball, soccer and hockey. Additionally, the new brand will be sold at all on-campus facilities that sell beer.

Former UConn Huskies Football Co-Captain and Kinsmen manager, Jeff Delucia, was instrumental in forming this new partnership. “It’s an honor to be part of such a great celebration of Husky spirit with such a phenomenal IPA brewed by Kinsmen,” DeLucia said.

The new IPA is described as “medium bodied yet refreshing” with a base made from clean American pilsner malt and fluffy malted wheat with intense notes of pineapple, white peach and tangerine. “We had been discussing the idea of a special Husky craft beer with the University for quite a while,” said Kinsmen co-owner, Bruce Staebler, “and we are so proud of the product developed by our team.”

The Husky Hops label is graphically arresting and all-husky, featuring a close-up of the full front face of Jonathan, the University’s vaunted canine icon, with his penetrating, piercing eyes in muted shades of dark blues offset by the product’s name in bold white letters outlined in red.

“We’ve used our experience and experimentation to create a definitive Kinsmen hazy IPA that is perfect for enjoying while watching a UConn game,” said Bob Bartholomew, Kinsmen’s Operations Manager, “We use a blend of our favorite American hops to create the punchy, clean, juicy flavor profile of Husky Hops.”

Sustainability is also a large part of the Kinsmen brewing process. “Our spent grain is donated to a local farmer who uses it to supplement some of the feed for his livestock while our solid fermentation waste is given to Blue Earth Compost, where it’s recycled into compost for local gardens.”

“Kinsmen Brewing Co. is a unique place,” said Greg Caucci, Kinsmen’s President and co-owner, “While many craft breweries are emphasizing their wholesale business, Kinsmen is all about a more curated beer experience which can be seen in all of our spaces. This includes our taproom which creates a rustic family atmosphere in a beautiful historic building, our event space and even our own in-house craft pizza venue, aptly named Sauced. It’s a combination of craft beer heritage with a modern twist. We’ve taken this Kinsmen experience and blended it with UConn Athletics to create a whole new experience that can be enjoyed on-site at the game.”

Kinsmen Brewing Co. is located at 409 Canal Street in Milldale, Connecticut.

About Kinsmen Brewing

Kinsmen Brewing Co. in Milldale, CT is central Connecticut’s fastest growing craft beer brewery, featuring a spacious rustic taproom with a large fireplace, a long customer-friendly bar, a large event space and its own in-house pizza restaurant, Sauced. 21st Amendment Brewery Releases Autumn Seasonal Hell or High Mango

September 30, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

SAN FRANCISCO, California – The 21st Amendment Brewery releases the autumn seasonal Hell or High Mango nationally to 33 states this month following the summer craze for its beloved Hell or High Watermelon Wheat. Lady Liberty shines bright at our sunset gate with welcoming arms for a sweet transition into the glow of the orange and red leaves of fall. An iconic woman symbolizing freedom and inclusivity, the Statue of Liberty graces the Hell or High line’s packaging and cans year-round. Brewed with real mangos, Hell or High Mango eases us from warmer days to an oasis brimming with tropical floral aromas and slightly tart, fruity flavors.

“Hell or High Watermelon Wheat has been a summertime favorite since we first started brewing it in 2000 at our San Francisco South of Market brewpub near the SF Giants’ ballpark. With such an overwhelming response to Hell or High Mango’s first year of release in the autumn of 2020 we’re especially excited to bring it back. The Instagram and social media comments were super positive, people are really digging this one. What’s also great about this beer is that behind all that luscious mango flavor and aroma is a wonderful wheat beer with its biscuity, light bready notes. And at a mere 4.9% ABV, Hell or High Mango is the perfect companion to enjoy all fall season. Get some,” says Shaun O’Sullivan, Co-Founder and Brewmaster.

New School Beer touts about Hell or High Mango, “Tropical flavors are hot right now, almost as hot as the iconic Lady Liberty eating mangos on the Golden Gate Bridge depicted on the label.” AmericanCraftBeer.com notes, “Another tasty example of the brewery’s commitment to fruitful brewing, Hell or High Mango is a 4.9% ABV mango-infused Wheat Ale brimming with floral tropical aromas and tart, fruity flavors.” UPROXX says, “I love 21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon (they also have some new flavors like mango). They feature Lady Liberty, and the fruit is subtle and in balance. It’s a crisp beer with a hint of fruit.”

Hell or High Mango is yet another testament to 21st Amendment’s ingenuity at brewing delicious expressions of flavors where fruit, hops, and grains intermingle for a splendid drinking experience. Hell or High Mango is an American wheat beer bursting with mouthwatering yumminess that finishes clean and refreshing. Hell or High Mango is available now in all 33 states where 21st Amendment distributes. Due to high demand for Hell or High Mango, 21st Amendment extends its seasonal availability to four months on shelves and on draft nationwide through December 2021.

About 21st Amendment Brewery
