Ninkasi Brewing Releases Stratascope IPA

April 30, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Ninkasi Brewing Releases Stratascope IPAEUGENE, Ore. – Ninkasi Brewing Company is excited to launch Stratascope IPA, a new limited-edition beer for spring and summer 2021. Stratascope IPA strongly features the strata hop and is available now on draft, in 6-packs and 12-packs of 12oz. bottles, and in a 19.2oz. can throughout Ninkasi’s distribution footprint.

Stratascope IPA is just one recent success from Ninkasi Brewing’s new 5-barrel Pilot system. This beer was originally brewed on their innovative small-batch system in February 2020 and then scaled up to production levels for this release throughout their distribution channels.

“Our pilot brewing system has allowed us to innovate in new ways,” said Director of Brewing Operations Dr. Daniel Sharp. “It’s fun to experiment with these new hops to create some delicious new beers with the complex aroma and flavor profiles they emit.”

Stratascope IPA was preceded by Galaxy Trippin’ Stellar IPA, another limited-edition beer showcasing the complex flavors of a single hop (in Galaxy Trippin’s case, the galaxy hop). This seasonal IPA will stay on shelves until Ninkasi’s winter 2021 seasonal.

Ninkasi’s year-round lineup offers a full spectrum of beer styles, including their flagship Total Domination Northwest IPA alongside Tricerahops Double IPA, Prismatic Juicy IPA, Oatis Oatmeal Stout, Pilsner Cold Fermented Lager, Dawn of the Red IPA, Heart and Science West Coast IPA, Juicy Domination Tropical IPA, Velocihoptor Guardian IPA, and Megalodom Legendary IPA.

Stratascope IPA

Every so often, a hop comes along that shines unlike any other variety before it. Crack open a Stratascope and discover the depth of flavors the strata hop presents. For more information visit https://ninkasibrewing.com/

Schlafly Releases Summer Lager In 16-ounce cans

April 29, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

SchlaflyST. LOUIS – Schlafly Beer, the original independent craft brewery in St. Louis, announces the return of a seasonal favorite, Summer Lager (4.5% ABV). With 48-ounces more than a standard 12-pack, the fan-favorite beer is available now in 12-packs of 16-ounce cans. Summer Lager is available across Schlafly’s distribution as well as the Schlafly brewpubs in the St. Louis region: Schlafly Tap Room in downtown St. Louis, Schlafly Bottleworks in Maplewood and Schlafly Bankside in St. Charles.

“Summer Lager is a warm weather favorite, so we’re excited to offer it in larger format cans,” says Founding Brewer Stephen Hale. “I’ve always found cans to be ideal for summertime drinking, and with folks heading safely to parks, pools and beaches this year, Summer Lager can be enjoyed as it was intended – outdoors with friends and family.”

The Helles-Style Summer Lager offers a smooth, maltier and hoppier alternative to light lagers. Summer lager is a bright, golden beer, wholly representative of what summertime should taste like. The malt imparts a fresh grain character, while the German hops lend notes of spice and lemon.

“We use German hops to brew a true light lager and create an easy-to-drink beer that’s refreshing with subtle notes of citrus. You can drink this beer while basking in the summer rays, and now with its return in cans, Summer Lager will be the ultimate portable pint for summer activities,” continued Hale.

Summer Lager is available for $17.99 in 12-pack, 16-ounce cans.

Schlafly Beer also offers online ordering for curbside pick-up at all three of their brewpubs in the St. Louis region: Schlafly Tap Room in downtown St. Louis, Schlafly Bottleworks in Maplewood and Schlafly Bankside in St. Charles.

Threes Brewing Releases Lifeworld Czech Pilsner

April 29, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

Threes BrewingBrooklyn, New York – Following up on the success of its initial February 2021 launch, Threes Brewing has re-released Lifeworld, marking the second consecutive Czech pilsner release from the brewery this month. This rich, hoppy pilsner has notes of rustic barley and candied orange peel and is brewed with 100% Czech ingredients, including yeast sourced from a small Czech microbrewery.

“We recommend sampling Lifeworld alongside other Czech and even German lagers, to truly appreciate the range and potential of the style,” says Head Brewer Matt Levy. “Whereas Vliet, our flagship pilsner, is crisp, bitter and dry, Lifeworld is hoppy and balanced. It tastes rich, and finishes full and luscious.”

In 2019, flagship beer Logical Conclusion won the Gold Medal for Hazy IPA, the most competitive category. Threes Brewing owns and operates two Brooklyn locations, a non-traditional taproom in Gowanus and a more intimate bar in Greenpoint, along with a seasonal outpost on Governors Island, and new tap room and bottle shop in Huntington, Long Island. 21st Amendment Partners with Pink Boots Society for Release of Moon Boots IPA

April 22, 2021 by Dustin Scoggins

21st Amendment San Francisco, Calif. — Though the craft beer industry’s demographics and workforce are evolving away from beer bellies and beards, there’s still much room for change to reflect the growing diversity of the craft beer consumer. 21st Amendment Brewery advocates for the advancement of exceptionally talented women in partnership with the Pink Boots Society for the limited-edition release of Moon Boots IPA. Coinciding with the nationwide release of Moon Boots IPA in April 2021, 21st Amendment Brewery is funding three Certified Cicerone Level-Two Course & Exam Scholarships and one “Women In Leadership” Certificate Scholarship at eCornell University exclusively for Pink Boots Members to apply for.

Moon Boots IPA was designed and created by an all-woman team at 21st Amendment Brewery. The project was spearheaded by Sarah Swafford (National Sales Manager), who says, “21A has been incredibly supportive of Pink Boots Society for many years and has participated in several Pink Boots beers. Moon Boots IPA was initially a small batch beer that we called Pink Brüts! and was brewed at 21st Amendment’s downtown San Francisco brewpub for International Women’s Day (2019). We developed the recipe and concept using the Pink Boots hop blend. When it was released, it was so well received at the pub, taproom, and participating accounts we knew it would be a great candidate for one of our nationwide limited-edition releases.”

Swafford has a long time connection to Pink Boots Society. “When I moved to the Bay Area, I joined my local Pink Boots chapter to connect with other women in the industry. It was such a great opportunity to support and learn from other women who worked in all facets of the industry: brewers, bar owners, bartenders, beer buyers, lab, etc. I found that Pink Boots offered me a great community and friends while enhancing my beer education that’s led to me elevating my career.”

“The women team members at 21st Amendment are an essential and vibrant part of our company and culture,” says Shaun O’Sullivan (Co-Founder & Brewmaster, 21st Amendment Brewery). “What’s a better way to celebrate this excellent group than with a beer uniquely designed by them. Releasing Moon Boots IPA on a national level is an opportunity to shine a big bright light on the important work of the Pink Boots Society and highlight the immense talent of the women on our team. At 21st Amendment Brewery, we want to be an agent of change in supporting Pink Boots’ members with four scholarships in 2021.”

21st Amendment Brewery funds three Certified Cicerone Level-Two Course & Exam Scholarships and one “Women In Leadership” Certificate Scholarship with eCornell University exclusively for Pink Boots Members to apply for. Swafford herself was a recipient of a Pink Boots Society scholarship.

The otherworldly packaging artwork for Moon Boots IPA was commissioned by renowned Los Angeles-based animation artist Robin Eisenberg (Instagram). Her portfolio revolves around celebrating sexuality and the diversity of women. The packaging for Moon Boots IPA features the creators envisioned as otherworldly beings.

Robin Eisenberg comments, “I’ve always loved celebrating women in my work, and working with 21st Amendment on this was so much fun! I think it’s amazing that Moon Boots IPA is not only recognizing women in brewing, but it’s also helping to create more opportunities for future women in the industry. So happy I could be a part of the project!”

Moon Boots IPA is clean, crisp, and brewed with pilsner malts, toasted rice, and strawberries. Hopped with Citra Cryo, Azacca, and Mosaic hops, Moon Boots IPA blasts beer lovers to another planetary dimension with its soft aromatics and refreshing strawberry notes making this a beer for stargazers.

About Pink Boots Society

The Pink Boots Society was created to assist, inspire and encourage women in the alcoholic beverage industry to advance their careers through education. We support all women of the industry, from those that own breweries, those that package the beer, that design beers, serve beers, write about beer, and everything in between. Most importantly, we teach each other what we know through our own seminar programs, and we help each other advance our beer careers by raising money for educational scholarships.
