San Diego, California – As part of its ongoing partnership with the Surfrider Foundation, Coronado Brewing is proud to announce a joint beach cleanup with Surfrider in celebration of Earth Day at the Ocean Beach Pier on Saturday, April 21. The public is invited to join Coronado Brewing and Surfrider, beginning at 9 a.m., to remove trash from the beach and waterways. While some supplies will be provided, the public is encouraged to bring reusable gloves, reusable bags and buckets, and reusable water bottles to cut down on waste.
In April of 2017, Coronado Brewing partnered with the Surfrider Foundation – the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the coasts – with the launch of a new collaboration beer: CoastWise Session IPA. In line with Coronado’s brand mantra to ‘Stay Coastal,’ a portion of the proceeds from the sale of CoastWise support Surfrider’s mission to protect the ocean, waves and beaches.
“Our company is very proud of its coastal roots, and we’ve continually embraced and celebrated the coastal lifestyle since our founding 21 years ago on Coronado Island,” noted Brandon Richards, CEO, Coronado Brewing Company. “Our ongoing partnership with the Surfrider Foundation allows us to make a direct, positive impact on the ocean and coastlines that are a fundamental part of the lifestyle we enjoy and celebrate. We hope CoastWise inspires people to get out and enjoy our beaches, while simultaneously supporting their protection.”
CoastWise Session IPA is brewed with Mosaic hops, giving the beer bright tasting notes of citrus and tropical fruit, with a dry, bitter finish. The beer has made waves of late – winning this year’s National IPA competition in the “Session IPA” category. At a light-bodied 5 percent ABV, CoastWise is the perfect session beer, and the recyclable can makes it the ultimate beverage to enjoy outdoors this summer.
CoastWise is available year-round on draft and in six-pack cans throughout Coronado’s distribution network.
