Crux Fermentation Project Releases[Banished] Tough Love, One Off [Banished] Lost Love, Snow Cave and Double Cross

November 5, 2018 by Dow Scoggins

As Crux Fermentation Project continues with its expansion at its brewpub in Bend, the brewery is set to release a slew of beers in the coming days. The beer releases include [BANISHED] Tough Love, One-Off [BANISHED] Lost Love, Snow Cave, and Doublecross.

This week Crux Fermentation Project will host release parties for [BANISHED] Tough Love in Bend, Portland, and Puyallup. With the release of [BANISHED] Tough Love, this year’s version marks the beer’s sixth release. This annual favorite remains true to form – bold, yet wonderfully nuanced. Brewed with dark roasted malts, malted rye, and oak-smoked wheat, and then banish it in Kentucky bourbon barrels, the result is a big, yet complex beer.

For 2018, [BANISHED] Tough Love will be available in both 375mL and 750mL bottles along with a limited amount of draft. The release parties are set up for this coming weekend with details below.

  • Crux Fermentation Project – 50 SW Division St, Bend, OR
    Friday, November 9th – 11:30am-10:00pm (Head Brewer’s Toast at 6pm)
  • The BeerMongers – 1125 SE Division St, Portland, OR
    Friday, November 9th – 5:00-8:00pm (Master Brewer’s Toast at 6pm)
  • Caskcades – 106-A N. Meridian, Puyallup, WA
    Saturday, November 17th –5:00-8:00pm

Here are additional notes on the other three releases provided by Crux Fermentation Project.

One-Off [BANISHED] Lost Love Barrel-Aged Imperial Rye Stout
We confess, Lost Love is our latest obsession. It’s our newest barrel-aged imperial stout, one we’re sure you’ll never forget…brewed with a healthy dose of malted rye and banished to the finest of rye whiskey barrels (Willett, to be exact). Belonging to our One-Off [BANISHED] Series, bottles of this beauty can only be found at our tasting room. But here’s the inside scoop, you’ll find it on tap at the events above so you can taste it along side its older brother.
14% ABV, 70 IBU

Snow Cave – A Wintertime Ale
So what if it’s getting cold out? There’s no need to stay in with this wintertime warmer in hand. Boasting an alluring spice character from Belgian yeast and suggestions of seasonal dark fruit, Snow Cave is a nuanced sipper you can cozy up with around the fire pit. Grab a bottle while you can and look for it on tap throughout the Pacific Northwest.
8% ABV, 20 IBU

Doublecross – Dark Belgian-Style Ale
Doublecross remains one of our favorites with its vibrant hue, intense flavors, and suspicious drinkability. We used to brew this strong dark Belgian-style beast all year long but as it turns out, most folks just crave it during these colder, darker months. So we brought it back for a limited time. Enjoy!
