Florida Avenue Brewing and Brew Bus Brewing Add Distribution to Central Florida

March 10, 2018 by Dow Scoggins

ORLANDO, Florida – Sunshine State Distributing announced their partnership with Florida Avenue Brewing Co. and Brew Bus Brewing, both based in Tampa, FL. With distribution through Sunshine State Distributing, the breweries have expanded the selection of craft beer in Central Florida to six counties: Orange, Osceola, Polk, Brevard, Lake, and Seminole.

“Tampa is one of Florida’s best cities for craft beer, and both Florida Avenue Brewing Co. and Brew BusBrewing rank among the best in the area,” said Chris Larue, president of Sunshine State Distributing. “This partnership expands the selection of craft beer in Central Florida with two incredible lines of beer, and we’re excited to work with the teams at both breweries.”
Florida Avenue Brewing Co. and Brew Bus Brewing are both owned and operated by Anthony Derby.

“We are very excited to continue selling our lineup of Brew Bus beers with our new partner, SunshineState Distributing, in the greater Orlando market,” Derby said. “The launch of Florida Avenue BrewingCo. in this market is something we have been planning since day one. With having “Florida” in our name, it only makes sense to sell our beer in the heavily visited tourism market of Orlando.”

Brew Bus Brewing was founded by Derby in 2011 as a shuttle to transport craft beer fans to Tampa-area breweries. In 2012, the company expanded into brewing. Today, Brew Bus Brewing produces a line of three core beers, Rollin’ Dirty Irish Red Ale, Last Stop IPA, and You’re My Boy, Blue! Blueberry Wheat Ale, a 2015 Great American Beer Festival silver medal winner in the fruit wheat category. These three and two others, Double Decker Porter and Wrong Way Pale Ale, are set to be distributed in the Central Florida market by Sunshine State Distributing.

Florida Avenue Brewing Co. originally opened its doors in 2010. In December 2015, the brewery was purchased by Derby, who revived the brand and renovated the brewery. Since then, Florida AvenueBrewing Co. has continued producing easy-drinking Florida-style beers, including the brewery’s Lager,Ale, IPA, Brown Ale, Passion of the Heights Hibiscus Wheat, and their Fruited Berliner Series, which recently earned the brewery two medals in the 2018 Best Florida Beer Competition: gold for their Raspberry Berliner Weisse and silver for Never Too Late for Summer. The brewery also took home bronze in the session ale category for Hourly Rate IPA.

Beers from both Florida Avenue Brewing Co. and Brew Bus Brewing are available now retail locations, bars and restaurants throughout Central Florida.
