Huss Brewing Releases Scottsdale Blonde to Honor Radio Station’s 50th Anniversary

March 17, 2018 by Dow Scoggins

PHOENIX, Arizona — Valley country music powerhouse 102.5 KNIX is celebrating a major milestone this year, as 2018 marks their 50th anniversary in Arizona. In order to commemorate their longevity at the top, the station teamed up with the fellow locally grown Huss Brewing Co. to create a collaborative, special edition Scottsdale Blonde can.

Turning to their loyal listeners for input, KNIX held a series of voting events to determine which beer would represent their Arizona legacy – Scottsdale Blonde or Papago Orange Blossom – with Scottsdale Blonde ultimately coming out on top.

“KNIX is more than just a radio station – it’s a fixture in the Phoenix community that continues to impact the lives of residents through music and charitable giving,” said Steve Geofferies, EVP of Programming for iHeartMedia, parent company of KNIX. “Nothing goes better together than country music and beer! There’s no better way to celebrate 50 years in Phoenix, than with Arizona’s hometown brewery, Huss Brewing Co.”

The 50th Anniversary cans will also commemorate 5 years of Huss, and will debut at a Can Release Party at the Huss Brewing Co. Pop-Up Taproom at Desoto Central Market on March 30 from 4 to 7 p.m.

“As a local company, we are committed to supporting Arizona’s legacy companies – those that help shape our unique culture and become part of our identity,” said Huss Brewing Co. co-founder Leah Huss. “Celebrating our own 5th anniversary along with 50 years of KNIX is a huge accomplishment and we’re excited to play a part in commemorating this great milestone.”

The limited edition cans, commemorating the KNIX legacy, will hit stores in March and be available through the fall, and shoppers can get their hands on them anywhere Huss Brewing Co. beers are sold.

About Huss Brewing
Husband-and-wife, Jeff and Leah Huss, have 27 years of combined experience in the brewing industry. Jeff was head brewer for BJ’s Brewing in Chandler, Ariz., for seven years and attended the, Siebel Institute in Chicago, then, the Doemens Academy in Munich, Germany. Leah co-owned and operated Papago Brewing in Scottsdale, Ariz., for 14 years, helping pioneer the craft beer community and growth in Arizona. Their combined love and passion for craft beer inspired them to chase their dreams of owning a local, family-owned and operated brewery with Jeff acting as head-brewer, and Leah running business and marketing operations. Huss Brewing Co. opened its doors in South Tempe in August 2013, with a 30-barrel system, a small tasting room with 20 taps, and room for growth. In 2016 Huss acquired the Papago Brewing Co. in Scottsdale, creating the newly formed Huss Family of Beers and transforming Huss into the 3rd largest brewer in the state. In 2017, Huss Brewing Co. opened their second brick-and-mortar location with an Uptown Plaza Taproom in Phoenix. Their fresh, quality, beers are canned on site weekly including the brands: Scottsdale Blonde Kolsch, Magic in the Ivy Pale Ale, Copper State IPA, Koffee Kolsch, and Husstler Milk Stout. www.hussbrewing.com
