HOUSTON – Theory of relativity. Gravity. Post-it Notes. All of these have something in common: they were discovered while their originator let their mind wander and dream. Now, Saint Arnold Brewing Co. can add their newest year-round beer, Daydream, to that list thanks to the wandering mind of one of the brewers.
Head Brewer Eddie Gutierrez’s dream started with the flavor of the beer, the brewing process, and when he took his first sip, he immediately awoke from the dream. He knew he had to make this beer come to life.
The American Saison-style beer has a slightly bready flavor from the combination of pils and white wheat malt and golden naked oats. The aroma is a mixture of floral and fruity characteristics provided by the Centennial and Amarillo hops. The finish is dry and inviting for another sip.
“We don’t have anything like this yet,” said daydreamer Gutierrez. “The crisp finish and low alcohol by volume is perfect for this climate, and the beer still maintains complexity.”
Daydream is the newest beer to join the award-winning year-round lineup from Texas’ oldest craft brewery, which will soon be entering its 25th year of production.
“I take a lot of pride in our brewing team,” said Founder/Brewer Brock Wagner. “They are constantly researching, developing, and testing new recipes to keep our brewery evolving.”
Saint Arnold Daydream will be available in 12 oz cans and on draft in both Texas and Louisiana this month.
