Second Self Beer and Pine Street Market to Host ‘Feed Diversity: Building a Bigger Table’

April 25, 2018 by Dow Scoggins

Atlanta, Georgia – Atlanta craft brewery Second Self Beer Company and artisan butcher shop Pine Street Market are teaming up on Sunday, May 27 to host “Feed Diversity: Building a Bigger Table,” an event highlighting Atlanta’s diverse restaurant community. Friends Jason Santamaria of Second Self Beer and Rusty Bowers of Pine Street Market came up with the idea while discussing the global refugee crisis and the vast contributions of local refugees in building Atlanta’s food and beverage scene. The event will take place on Sunday, May 27 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Second Self Beer Company on the Westside (1317 Logan Circle NW). Tickets are available for $28 per person (food only) or $42 per person (food and three pints).

Celebrating the rich cultural fabric that has shaped the food and beverage industry, Feed Diversity aims to raise awareness and funds for local refugee charities Global Growers and Friends of Refugees. The outdoor tasting event will feature Second Self pours and a pig roast and grilled chicken from Chef Andre Gomez of Porch Light Latin Kitchen in collaboration with Riverview Farms, Springer Mountain Farms and Big Green Egg. There will also be bites from Hyatt Regency, King of Pops, Saltyard, The Shed at Glenwood, South of Heaven BBQ, Steinbeck’s Ale House, and Taiyo Ramen. Refuge Coffee Co., which serves the global community in Clarkston through coffee-related job creation, job training, social networking and commerce, will also serve coffee beverages from their espresso cart.
