Stevens Point Brewery Announces “Point See Red Sweepstakes!”

April 23, 2018 by Dow Scoggins

STEVENS POINT, Wisconsin – The Stevens Point Brewery is rolling out a multi-tiered sweepstakes primarily for the Wisconsin market this spring through summer. Specially-marked 24-pack cans of Point Special Lager will be in stores this month promoting the sweepstakes. One out of approximately every 40 cases will contain a winning red can of Point Special Lager. Prizes range from limited edition Point Brewery items to custom fat bikes, longboards, electronics, and experiences.

Point Brewery’s previous summer contests awarded a limited number of larger prizes. This year’s campaign is designed to reward a greater number of customers. According to Julie Birrenkott, Director of Marketing, “We had a lot of success with the campers, boats, and kegerators in years past, but we thought it would be fun to reach more of our customers with more prizes!”

In all, Point Brewery will be giving away 286 prizes before the end of the year. This includes: customized 2018 Reid Ares fat bikes, custom complete longboards, a guided fishing trip, a round of golf for four at SentryWorld, a private brewery tour for 10, Amazon Echo smart speakers, Beats X earphones, Pointoberfest tickets, Point Brewery Gift Shop gift certificates, and a limited-edition t-shirt made specifically for the sweepstakes.

On the mix of prizes, Birrenkott explains, “The focus is enjoying the great outdoors, supporting local craft, and appealing to all types of beer drinkers.” The bikes and longboards were sourced and built by the Point Area Bicycle Service, and the t-shirt and longboard designs were produced by two graphic design graduates from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. In addition, golf at SentryWorld, the Flying Musky Guide Company fishing tour, and Pointoberfest tickets are all outdoor activities tied to the region.

The Stevens Point Brewery has been brewing Point Special Lager since the repeal of Prohibition, and it has frequently been named America’s best premium lager – most famously by Mike Royko at the Chicago Daily News, then by the Great American Beer Festival, and repeatedly by the World Beer Championships. Although the Stevens Point Brewery produces more than 30 beers and other brands, Point Special Lager remains the brewery’s flagship beer and best seller.

Package: Specially Marked Point Special Lager 24 loose can packages
Contest Dates: April 15, 2018 – December 31, 2018
