INDIANAPOLIS – Sun King Brewery, one of the leaders of the independent craft beer movement in Indiana, is offering a unique opportunity to craft beer enthusiasts to become members of its Royal Order: a new subscription program that provides an opportunity for each member to receive a two-pack of 15 different Sun King King’s Reserve beers, including three brews available to Royal Order members, throughout 2019.
Beginning today, Sun King fans can log on to the Royal Order proclamation page to become a member to receive all 15 of Sun King Brewery’s King’s Reserve offerings throughout 2019, plus three previously unreleased beers. All Sun King Brewery King’s Reserve releases are packaged in 16-ounce re-sealable Alumi-Tek cans. In addition to classic Sun King King’s Reserve beers and new releases, Royal Order members will also receive admission to one Royal Order members-only party, pre-sale and discounted tickets to special Sun King events like its Tenth Anniversary Party, a special Royal Order pint glass, an embroidered hat, plus 15 percent off Sun King merchandise in the brewery’s Indianapolis and Fishers tap rooms and at Sun King Spirits Tap Room and Distillery in Carmel, Ind.
“We started releasing Sun King Brewery’s King’s Reserve series in 2011 as a way to showcase our most unique and innovative beers that highlight our barrel aging and wild fermentation programs,” said Dave Colt, co-founder, and head brewer and distiller. “Over the years, many Sun King fans have become passionate about trying each new King’s Reserve release, and we want to reward them with our new Royal Order program.”
Sun King King’s Reserve beers are small-batch, limited creations that are barrel-aged and sour brews and have won multiple national brewing awards. Currently, Sun King has released more than two dozen King’s Reserve brews. Some of the most popular include:
- Afternoon Delight, a 2013 Great American Beer Festival® (GABF) gold-medal winning, barrel-aged Dopplebock with aromas of brown sugar and molasses that are accentuated with sweet flavors of vanilla and oak from bourbon barrels
- Cherry Busey, a three-time GABF medal-winning Flanders-style Oud Bruin Ale, produced using a complex cocktail of wild yeasts and aged in a bevy of barrels; a multitude of Montmorency cherries were lovingly liberated to give the beer its tart cherry tang
- Sympathy for the Devil, a two-time silver-medal winner at GABF, is a Belgian-style Black Ale loaded with chocolate, roasted walnut, cherry and banana flavors nested inside hints of vanilla and oak from barrel aging
Members will be notified by email when their new Royal Order is ready.
