Warped Wing Brewing Brewpub & Smokery in Mason, Ohio

January 17, 2025 by Dow Scoggins

Warped Wing Brewing Company to open Mason, Ohio Brewpub & SmokeryMason, Ohio – Nestled at the bustling corner of Tylersville Road and Route 42, Warped Wing Brewpub & Smokery in Mason, Ohio, is redefining the craft beer scene with a bold blend of history, flavor, and community spirit. Opened in February 2022, this 13,000-square-foot brewpub, located at 5650 Tylersville Rd, transforms a former old-world Irish pub and fine dining restaurant into a vibrant taproom, smokery, and gathering spot. With its smoky eats, innovative beers, and a soon-to-open biergarten, Warped Wing is quickly becoming a must-visit destination for beer lovers and foodies alike.

A Historic Space Reimagined

Warped Wing’s Mason location is a testament to creative reinvention. The building, once home to an Irish pub and upscale restaurant, has been meticulously transformed into a modern brewpub while preserving its historic charm. “Melding the old with the new was a unique challenge, but our design team and contractors hit it out of the park,” says Nick Bowman, Warped Wing’s VP of Sales & Marketing. The result is a spacious taproom with high ceilings, warm lighting, and an inviting vibe that feels both nostalgic and fresh.

The 13,000-square-foot facility boasts several standout features:

  • Taproom: A lively space where craft beer flows and smoked meats sizzle.

  • Biergarten: An outdoor oasis set to open in spring, perfect for sunny sips.

  • Pilot Brewing System: A small-batch setup for exclusive, experimental beers.

  • Event Space: Flexible areas for private parties, community events, or casual hangouts.

Craft Beer with a Local Twist

At the heart of Warped Wing Mason is its beer, crafted under the watchful eye of Brewmaster and Managing Partner John Haggerty. Known for beers like Ermal’s Belgian Style Cream Ale and Flyin’ Rye IPA at their Dayton and Springboro locations, Warped Wing brings the same quality to Mason. The brewpub’s pilot system allows Haggerty to get creative, producing small-batch brews that keep the tap list exciting.

One highlight is Ryesing Tides, a Hoppy Red Rye Ale brewed in collaboration with Mason’s own Sonder Brewing. “I love working with local brewers,” Haggerty says. “Collaborating with Sonder was a blast, and I’m excited to keep rubbing elbows with Mason’s craft beer crew.” The taproom also offers hard cider, wine, specialty cocktails, and non-alcoholic options like house-made root beer and mocktails, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Smoky Eats and Beer-Infused Flavors

Warped Wing Mason isn’t just about beer—it’s a culinary destination. Culinary Director Erin O’Neill, who also helms the menu at Warped Wing’s Springboro Barrel Room & Smokery, has crafted an eclectic menu centered on smoked meats. Think brisket, ribs, and pulled pork, all kissed by the brewery’s massive smoker. Many dishes incorporate Warped Wing beers, adding a unique twist to classics.

“The smoker’s firing, and the smell of smoked meats is filling the air,” O’Neill says. “We’re thrilled to bring our bold flavors to Mason’s already awesome food scene.” From beer-infused sauces to creative sides, the menu complements the robust beer selection, making every bite and sip a match made in heaven.

A Community Hub in Mason

Mason, a vibrant suburb north of Cincinnati, is known for its family-friendly vibe and growing food and drink scene. Warped Wing fits right in, offering a space where locals and visitors can connect over great beer and food. The brewpub’s event space is perfect for everything from birthday parties to corporate gatherings, and the upcoming biergarten will add a relaxed outdoor option for warm-weather fun.

“We’re proud to be part of Mason’s community,” Bowman says. “This brewpub is about more than beer—it’s about creating memories and bringing people together.” With its proximity to attractions like Kings Island and its location in a bustling retail corridor, Warped Wing is poised to draw crowds from across the region.
