Yee-Haw Brewing opens its new brewery and beer garden in Knoxville

February 18, 2023 by Dow Scoggins

Knoxville, Tennessee – Yee-Haw Brewing Company opened its newest taproom location in North Knoxville at 745 N Broadway. The Brewing Company’s seventh taproom spans over 18,000 square feet of space, making it the second largest to date. Yee-Haw Knoxville includes an in-house brewery, 62 taps, a jumbotron, and a beer garden featuring an outdoor bar, shaded space, firepits, and an amphitheater equipped to host national touring acts and hold over seven hundred concertgoers.

“Jessi and I are thrilled to be able to bring our vision for Yee-Haw to Knoxville,” said Joe Baker, founder of Yee-Haw Brewing. “East Tennessee is home for both of us, and we’re excited to see the jobs and experiences that are going to come from our newest location.”

“We’re just so excited to welcome the community to this amazing new space and see how it comes to life,” says CEO of Yee-Haw Brewing, Jennifer Podhajsky. “It’s really the people that make our taprooms so special, and we can’t wait to see how Knoxville’s unique personality shines through. Whether you’re coming to a concert or just grabbing a beer with friends, we want this to be a place where good memories are made, surrounded by good people and great beer. That’s what Yee-Haw is all about.”

The North Knoxville taproom will expand Yee-Haw’s ongoing partnership with Prince’s Hot Chicken, the original hot chicken establishment in Nashville, TN, which began in a small house in 1936. Prince’s, the place that started the world-renowned hot chicken phenomenon, has built a strong legacy of the one-of-a-kind hot chicken that has thrived ever since.

Yee-Haw Brewing’s North Knoxville taproom has also partnered with organizations like WDVX, Born & Raised Productions, several non-profits, sport-focused groups, and visual artists to ensure that they bring exciting events to North Knoxville, and provide a space where they can support the people and groups that make this community so special.

“Our event planning team has pulled out all the stops for a celebratory series of events starting the week of February 27 that’ll really showcase what this space was intended for. Live music, watching the game on the jumbotron, community experiences, enjoying this massive outdoor space, and of course sharing a drink with friends. Stay tuned for more details and make sure to follow us on socials.” says General Manager Charles Ellis.

The award-winning brewery’s Knoxville operation will focus on brewing limited releases, a barrel-aging program, and sour styles. Their taproom will also feature specialties from other Yee-Haw locations including IPAs, ciders, seltzers, and seasonal selections.

“There are over thirty different breweries in the Knoxville area, and we hope to add a new taste to the already vibrant beer scene here in town. We want to help push Knoxville towards being known as a destination beer city,” says Chris Meadows, Yee-Haw’s highly decorated Brewmaster. Meadows is thrilled to debut new recipes and releases created in Knoxville, where the brewery attached to the taproom has been operational for over a year. “The mash filter we have here allows us a lot of flexibility regarding what styles we can make, and that gives us the freedom to really express unique styles that’ll be exclusive to our taprooms.”

In addition to Yee-Haw officially settling their corporate headquarters in Knoxville, this expansion has allowed Yee-Haw to hire 100 employees for their local team, and invest in contracting several local businesses for year-round services.

More details on their Spring event calendar will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information, please visit yeehawbrewing.com/knoxville and follow Yee-Haw on social media @yeehaw_knoxville.
