The inspiration for the welcoming environment of Denver Beer Co. stems from beer gardens of Bavaria, where the founders of this local hotspot traveled and gained their inspiration to create great-tasting, unique brews. Charlie and Patrick (the brewmaistes) wanted to recreate the environment of the beer gardens in Germany while incorporating the laid back Denver vibe. So, they hand made the wooden picnic benches out on the patio and created an atmosphere where people can share the flavorfully crafted beer with good company. This brewery and beer garden is the only dog friendly brewery in Denver, making it a unique spot to stop in whether it’s a Friday evening after work or an afternoon break to quench your thirst.
With over 300 beers under their belt already, you can always expect a different tap selection with exclusive variety. If you have the chance to stop in, make sure to try all of the beers they have on draft, because as soon as the keg is out they replace it with a new distinct flavor to add variety to their rotating tap. However, two favorites are kept on tap year round. The Graham Cracker Porter is a dark pour with mild accents of vanilla, smoked cedar, and mulling spices. The Incredible Pedal IPA is brewed with Centennial and Citra hops, which received its name because the hops are ground by a bicycle powered machine.
In the past two and a half years, Denver Beer Co. has made its mark in the craft brewery industry, so it’s no surprise that there are some great things happening in the months ahead. Denver Beer Co. is currently working on their new brew house, which has an estimated opening time of June 2014. And Denverites – keep your eyes on the lookout! The notorious Graham Cracker Porter and Incredible Pedal IPA will be available in cans in local Denver liquor stores around July.
