Tennessee Brew Work Announces Nashville Taproom and Retail Can Launch of Three Brews

February 28, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Tennessee Brew WorksNASHVILLE, Tennessee – Tennessee Brew Works, a Nashville-based craft brewery, is thrilled to announce they have begun packaging their award-winning craft beers cans, which are coming to their Nashville Taproom, as well as grocery stores and liquor stores.

This month, Tennessee Brew Works is offering cans of their popular 1927 IPA in 16oz, 4-packs and cases, a beer that pays tribute to the “Bristol Sessions”, regarded as the birth of modern country music. The second release is the brewery’s famous Hippies & Cowboys IPA in 12oz, 6-packs and cases; a tropical and citrus India Pale Ale with a smooth and crisp finish. Also look for their seasonal release, Wildwood Flower, in 12oz

can, 6-packs and cases. This spring seasonal is a Belgian-style honey blonde ale, brewed with Wildflower and Sourwood honey from the Strange Honey Farms in Del Rio, Tennessee.

“As we celebrate our ninth year in Nashville, we are honored to have such an overwhelming demand for our beers. These new canned craft beer offerings will help fill a need especially for those seeking to enjoy our beers in the great Tennessee outdoors,” said Christian Spears, Founder and President, Tennessee Brew Works.

This year, Tennessee Brew Works’ favorites, including Southern Wit, State Park Blonde Ale, Hippies & Cowboys, Urban Hiker, River Drifter, Extra Easy and seasonal options, King Chestnut, Walk the Lime, and Wildwood Flower will be available in 12-ounce cans at Tennessee Brew Works’ Taproom in Nashville, in liquor stores and grocery stores across the state.

“Like our signature bottle labels, our new cans will feature the faces of people we honor. We recognize real people with our beer labels, people that have made a positive impact on our culture and success of Tennessee Brew Works,” added Spears.

Tennessee Brew Works will also distribute their specialty limited release craft brews, including 1927 IPA, Hopped & Devoted, Secret City Imperial IPA, Mango Price, Tangerine Waltz, Gazelle, Oktoberfest, Patsy Clineapple, Hazy Trails IPA, and Clingmans Dome in 16-ounce cans.

Craft beer cans are preferred by many beer lovers, and they allow for easier storage, better shipping options and are more stackable than bottles. The new cans also provide more options for recycling and reducing the carbon footprint, which is important to Tennessee Brew Works’ mission.

About Tennessee Brew Works

Tennessee Brew Works was founded in 2013 with a mission to create high quality craft beer that pays homage to the land, traditions, and culture of Tennessee. Tennessee Brew Works introduced the state’s first All-Tennessee grain beers in 2018 with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. Their all-Tennessee grain Tennessee State Park Blonde Ale, created in 2017, benefits the Tennessee State Parks Conservancy and the preservation of the state’s 57 State Parks.

Tennessee Brew Works brews beers using only natural ingredients and source them from local farms whenever possible. Tennessee Brew Works is owned and operated by folks in Tennessee. They are guided by their motto: “We work hard to create high quality craft beer that makes Tennessee proud. Our culture places importance on family, friends, and community, and we hope you’ll be a part of it.”

Crux Fermentation Project Expands Non-Alcoholic Line-Up With the Release of NØ MØ HAZY IPA

February 28, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Crux Fermentation BEND, Oregon – To keep up with demand from the fastest-growing segment in craft beer, Crux Fermentation Project has released its newest non-alcoholic beer: NØ MØ HAZY IPA. Crafted with traditional brewing ingredients so drinkers will find a similar flavor and mouthfeel, NØ MØ HAZY IPA features Pacific Northwest-grown BRU-1 and Sabro hops for big tropical flavors with hints of pineapple and coconut. The Hazy IPA follows the release of Crux’s first non-alcoholic beer just last year, NØ MØ IPA. Both “near” beers clock in at just 30 calories and under 0.5% ABV.

“NØ MØ is growing quickly as a brand for us as we work to provide alternative options to both our regional fans and taproom guests,” said Larry Sidor, Founder and Master Brewer at Crux Fermentation Project. “We have been experimenting with and perfecting our non-alcoholic recipe for years, and NØ MØ has only gotten better as we’ve continued to dial it in. Adding this new Hazy IPA to the NØ MØ family gives non-alcoholic drinkers a new flavor profile to explore.”

Sidor has spent more than 40 years in the Pacific Northwest beer industry innovating and developing a huge variety of legendary recipes. His long history of experimenting with non-alcoholic beer starting in the 1980’s, coupled with Head Brewer Cam O’Connor’s decades of high-end craft beer experience, has propelled Crux into a leadership position in the non-alcoholic craft beer scene. The brewing team prides itself on using traditional craft brewing ingredients and techniques for its non-alcoholic line, resulting in a “near beer” that is still fermented and features juicy IPA flavors, without the ABV.

NØ MØ HAZY IPA and NØ MØ IPA are both distributed by Columbia Distributing and are currently available in 12-ounce six-pack cans throughout Crux’s distribution footprint in Oregon and Washington. Residents of Oregon, Washington, California, Arizona and Nevada can purchase NØ MØ online and have it shipped directly to their doorstep from the brewery.

CINCINNATI, OH — Cincinnati-based Rhinegeist Brewery is excited to announce its expansion into Michigan, bringing its full line of products to the Great Lakes State for the first time. Starting March 1st, Rhinegeist will be available on draft, and in cans and bottles throughout Michigan.

The chance to expand distribution to such a large, thriving beer market like Michigan is an exciting move for the brewery in 2022. Rhinegeist will bring an array of products to the market, headlined by their year-round portfolio of beers, ciders (hitting the MI market in the fall), and the new line of Hard Craft Beverages called RGBevs:

Beers: Truth (IPA), Sunspun Shandy (Seasonal), Knowledge (Double IPA), Cloud Harvest (Unfiltered IPA)
RGBevs: Bubbles (Hard Craft Beverage with Apple, Peach, and Cranberry), Zango Crush (Hard Craft Beverage with Mango and Blood Orange), and Lemmy Nade (Hard Craft Beverage with Lemon and Lime)

In addition to these staples, a slew of seasonal and limited rarities will rotate on shelves and taps throughout the year and hard-to-get releases from Rhinegeist’s award-winning barrel-aged and sour beer programs.

To get these products into the hands of local purveyors and consumers, Rhinegeist has partnered with five of Michigan’s preeminent distributors of imported and craft beer:

– Petitpren, Inc.
– Fabiano Brothers, Inc.
– Atlas Sales Inc.
– Daniel L. Jacob & Co., Inc.
– West Side Beer Distributing

“We first visited Rhinegeist in October of 2019. We met with Matt (Steinke, VP of Sales) and Nick (Vitalo, Director of Wholesalers) to discuss the opportunity of a wholesaler partnership” said Jamey Thompson, Director of Sales and Marketing at Petitpren Inc. “We were very impressed with the brewery as well as their strong and defined culture which was evident during our visit. The portfolio of Rhinegeist is impressive and ranges across a wide spectrum of styles. These brands will be a great fit into our portfolio, and we are enthusiastic to be their wholesaler partner. The planning has been over 2 years in the making so we are prepared and ready for Rhinegeist’s launch in our market!”

Kyle Klopcic, VP of Strategy at West Side Beer Distributors, echoes the sentiment: “We have watched the growth of Rhinegeist Brewery since they opened their doors nine years ago, and are excited to partner with them as they bring their diverse portfolio of craft beverages to Michigan. Michigan beer drinkers will appreciate Rhinegeist’s unwavering commitment to quality, passion for innovation, and desire to push the boundaries of flavor and expectation.”

“Rhinegeist’s entry into the Michigan market is a HUGE move for us in 2022,” adds Matt Steinke. “The Great Lakes State has a legendary reputation in the world of craft brewing and is home to many breweries that we have looked to for inspiration since day one. As a former Michigan resident, this is an especially exciting move for me personally, and I am both thrilled at and humbled by the opportunity to bring our diverse portfolio to such a large and innovative market. Jones Beach Brewing Co. Set to Launch March 11

February 26, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Jones Beach BrewingFARMINGDALE, New York – Jones Beach Brewing Co. (JBBC) is officially set to launch to the public on March 11, 2022, at The Helm Restaurant in Freeport, thanks to partnership with Lithology Brewing, LLC. JBBC will offer its flagship nautical-inspired brew, Jones Inlet IPA.

Christopher Mills, Long Island native, is thrilled to announce his start-up’s opening: a brewery that pays homage to Long Island’s working class, parks, beaches & marine life. By merging his two passions —  great tasting beer and the betterment of LI communities — Mills was able to create the brewery he always envisioned. A brewery that Robert Moses would appreciate.

Packaging will be the first to include a tide chart, providing boaters information on high tides for planning safe passage ahead of time, as well as their iconic Limulus logo.

“Our logo is really special: a horseshoe crab. It’s a staple of Long Island beaches and is one of the four oldest animal species. Of course, our focus is amazing beer, it’s also important for us to remain committed to the preservation of these marine arthropods and their changing environment,” says Mills.

For four years, Jones Beach Brewing Co. has been working on their craft and brewery launch plans, including local tastings — entirely funded by t-shirt sales via their JBBC Newsletter. “This launch has been a few years in the making, and has hit a lot of roadblocks,” says Mills.

Determined to bring JBBC fans their beer in-market, Mills connected with Lithology Brewing, LLC.

“Lithology is defined as the study of the general physical characteristics of rocks. And with Lithology Brewing Co. owned by Kevin Cain and Lee Kaplan (both environmental engineers), John Ardito and Manny Coelho, it’s safe to say that if anyone knows about ‘breaking ground,’ this team would,” says Mills.

After meeting with the team and sharing some of JBBC’s attempted openings — including a complete change of their business plan in March of 2020, as a result of a global pandemic — the Lithology team wanted to help.

“Knowing what it takes and how we got started, we wanted to lend a hand by offering an alternative proprietorship option, so Jones Beach Brewing Co. can start pursuing their dream,” says Manny Coelho, Head Brewer of Lithology.

By partnering together, JBBC will be able to produce their recipes at Lithology and distribute their product to local markets, distributors, and bars. You can find the Jones Inlet IPA at The Helm Restaurant starting March 11, 2022.

JBBC extends a special thanks to friends and family for their support and help with getting JBBC off the ground; Randy Mills, Mike May, Matt Jones, Brian McEvoy, Tucker Williams, Doug Knab, Sean Wall and many others.

About Jones Beach Brewing Company

Jones Beach Brewing Co. embodies the Horseshoe Crab. Of the four oldest animal species on earth, it’s the only one that bleeds blue. It’s a staple of Long Island beaches and symbolizes longevity with changing environments. We at JBBC expect our team to carry out those conceptual qualities and honorable ideals, appealing to the working class, parks, beaches & marine life, by merging two passions: great tasting beer and the betterment of our communities. Whether it’s supporting a cause or showing up to a party; don’t come empty handed, “knock with your feet.”

Reformation IPA Coming Soon

February 26, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

ReformationATLANTA, Georgia – Georgia based Reformation Brewery is pleased to announce the release of self-titled, Reformation IPA. The beer is a new year-round offering in the brewery’s portfolio and takes the place of their rotating seasonal, Nolan The Wanderer.

An unfiltered American style IPA (6.5%) featuring Talus, Citra, & Mosaic for notes of grapefruit & pineapple, Reformation IPA is now available for pre-order across the brewery’s state-wide Georgia distribution footprint, and debuts in the brewery’s taprooms Friday, Feb. 25th.

“We fell in love with the Talus hop, which gives this beer an intense citrus aroma and ripe notes of grapefruit and pineapple. We also love the little bit of pine resin that balances out all those fruit forward notes. As we searched for this hop, we built a great relationship with the people at Hop Head Farms (in Southwest Michigan) who supply our contract of this unique and robust hop,” said Ryan Morley-Stockton, Business Operations Director.

Reformation IPA replaces Nolan The Wanderer, which held the year-round IPA slot for Reformation since 2018. “Reformation has wandered through new styles of IPA’s and different varieties of hops with our rotating IPA series, and learned so much from that journey. We’ve also brewed countless IPA test batches at our R&D facility in Woodstock in search of a liquid that is both balanced and timeless – yet uniquely Reformation. Reformation IPA is fueled by feedback from our community and is a beer they can truly call their own,” Stockton added.

CEO & Cofounder, Spencer Nix, says the beer represents the heart and soul of the brewery. “Inspired by the natural beauty of the people and places in Reformation’s communities, years of research, development, and crafting are behind this beer. Our heart and soul are in this self-titled IPA for new and old craft IPA drinkers. It’s our gift to IPA and beer drinkers from the lowlands to the highlands of Georgia. Unfiltered, balanced, reliable – Reformation IPA.”

About Reformation Brewery

Established October, 31 2013, Reformation Brewery is a values-based company that gathers to serve love to our community through the good gift of beer.

The partnership consists of a limited edition 12-pack of the brand’s premium lager and a commemorative poster, with all proceeds benefiting the iconic organization. To celebrate the legacy and heritage of the Mardi Gras Indians, design elements of the 12-pack and poster were inspired by and selected by the council.

Gayle Benson, owner of Faubourg Brewing Company, Bertrand Butler,  founder/executive director of the New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian Council, and Jason Daniel, Vice President of Marketing of Faubourg Brewing Company played an integral role in the partnership by hosting a special press announcement and poster signing event before the Pelicans vs. Mavericks at the Smoothie King Center last week.

We are not only investing in preserving the history of the Mardi Gras Indians, but also ensuring this vital community element continues for generations to come.”

The limited-edition 12 pack is currently on display where Faubourg beers are sold. Commemorative posters are available for $40 through the rest of Mardi Gras on the Faubourg website.

“In our commitment to the city and neighborhoods of New Orleans, we also know that this amazing place would not be what it is today without the enduring legacy of the Mardi Gras Indians and other cultural forces,” said Jason Daniel, Vice President of Marketing of Faubourg Brewing Company. “This is just the beginning of how Faubourg Brewing Co. will continue to invest in the resources and people that make our city an iconic cultural destination.”

The New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian Council consists of chiefs from over a dozen Tribes who meet regularly to discuss ways to enrich the lives of the citizens of New Orleans. “The history of the Mardi Gras Indians is the history of New Orleans, and through this partnership, we will be able to tell our story for years to come,” said Bertrand Butler, founder/executive director of the New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian Council. “Our culture bearers are the essence that helps make Mardi Gras and other events around the city so distinct and vibrant. We hope that this partnership will serve as a beacon to get other businesses involved in preserving the people and places that make New Orleans what it is.”

About Faubourg Brewing Co.

Faubourg Brewing Company was founded as Dixie Brewing Company in New Orleans in 1907. Hurricane Katrina decimated the brewery in August of 2005, forcing the company to relocate production out of state until Tom and Gayle Benson, owners of the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans, purchased a majority share of the business. On January 25, 2020, the brewery resumed full operations in New Orleans East and restarted production of its beloved brands, as well as a host of new offerings. Committed to making our home more united, strong and resilient for future generations, Dixie Brewing Company announced on June 26, 2020, its intention to retire the Dixie name from all wholesale sales in early 2021.  Faubourg Brewing Company was announced as the new name of the iconic brewery on November 4, 2020. The Faubourg Brewing Company is completely locally owned and not affiliated with any national or foreign brewing conglomerates.

About the New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian Council

The Mardi Gras Indian Council (MGIC aka Council) was chartered in 1986 for the primary purpose of preserving the customs and traditions of the New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian culture and performance. It will be awesome toFINALLY be able to send our full portfolio of house-made spirits to our neighbors up north and I’m excited to hear their thoughts on our distillery’s offerings.”

Chock full of intricate complexities,Alternate Takes Volume 3: Whiskey Finished in Apple Brandy & Apple Cider Barrels boasts delicious aromas of warming cinnamon and wildflower honey paired with notes of fresh green apples, roasted chestnut and buttery, dry oaked chardonnay. The third release out of Dogfish Head’s Alternate Takes Series, a lineup of premium, experimental whiskeys, it draws inspiration from analog-aged musicians, who were known for recording various unique takes and trialing alternate sounds until a great record emerged.

“OurAlternate Takes whiskey series is an ode of sorts to the mad chemistry of R&D distilling,” said Sam. “We approach these limited-edition spirits – and really, every creative moment – at Dogfish with a thirst to push new and out-of-the-ordinary ideas to their furthest limits and fullest potentials. Just like music, our off-centered concoctions are boundless, and each alternate take is another piece of the artistic journey.”

Indeed Brewing Company’s Milwaukee Pilot Brewery Releases Hurricane Cocktail-Inspired Fruited Ale in Bottles

February 25, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Indeed BrewingMILWAUKEE, Wisconsin – Indeed Brewing Company is releasing a Hurricane Cocktail-Inspired Fruited Ale on Saturday, Feb. 26. Bottles (750ml, $17) are available to pre-order now.

A nod to Pat O’Briens scrappy libation that mixes together rum, passion fruit syrup, and lemon juice, a Hurricane has the reputation of supercharging a good night in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Brewed with cane sugar in the boil, passion fruit puree in the fermentor, and a dose of Hurricane-flavored essence in the bright tank, our cocktail-inspired malt beverage is sweet yet boozy, doing its namesake proud.

“This beer is made in the fashion of the famous Hurricane cocktail from New Orleans. We threw a bunch of dehydrated orange peel into the whirlpool and lots of passion fruit puree at the end of fermentation for a super fruity, tart, and sweet beer. To help boost the gravity of this beer, we also threw in some raw cane sugar as a nod to the rum in the drink. The result is a bright orange liquid that, despite its higher levels of alcohol, goes down as easy as the signature cocktail,” says Patrick Nickelson, Head Brewer, Indeed Milwaukee. “Instead of serving this in red solo cups and sending you out onto the streets of Walker’s Point, we are releasing 750ml bottles on the Saturday before Mardi Gras so you can pop open a bottle on Fat Tuesday, cut up a king’s cake, buy a dozen paczki, and join a second line. Pairs well with Professor Longhair, boudin, and beignets.”

The Walker’s Point pilot brewery and taproom will be open from 11am-11pm on Saturday, Feb. 26. Mr. Greens BBQ will be on-site serving Southern-style smoked food from 11am-6pm. There will also be Mardis Gras-style Vinyl Vibes spun by Indeed Milwaukee’s very own taproom manager Grant Steskal, on behalf of WMSE Mish Mosh Radio.

Hurricane Cocktail-Inspired Fruited Ale is a limited release; pre-orders of the 750ml bottles are encouraged. There will be 150 bottles available for pre-order (two bottle maximum per person) and 50 available for day-of purchase (three bottle maximum per person). Pickup is available as soon as Feb. 26. Hurricane will also release on tap.

Bottles (750ml, $17) are available to pre-order now.
