Societe Brewing Celebrates 10th Anniversary

May 29, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Societe BrewingSAN DIEGO, California – Societe Brewing Company is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this June, a testament to the small independently-owned brewery’s dedication to the craft. Societe is also excited to announce the news of its first satellite tasting room coming to San Diego’s oldest neighborhood, Old Town, in early 2023, in addition to a 10th-anniversary exclusive beer, to commemorate their first decade of impeccable beer.

Since opening its first location in San Diego 10 years ago, Societe has grown its legion of loyal fans, one beer at a time, led by their rally cry, “Beer Folk Unite.” Founded in 2012 by beer-obsessed Doug Constantiner, with a vision of uniting people over beer, Societe offers a wide selection of beer including its core lineup of world class beers and seasonal specialty IPAs. Its core lineup includes flagship IPA, The Pupil, Light Beer, Session IPA and two-time G.A.B.F. gold medal-winning The Coachman, Doug’s personal favorite beer, award winning Blonde Ale The Harlot, and newest addition to the core lineup, Bulbous Flowers, a sticky and fresh Hazy IPA with a West Coast finish.

Having just started canning its beer before the pandemic shut down in March 2020, going from a highly on-site focused distribution to an ever-expanding distribution and rapid growth, Societe tripled production setting itself up for further expansion into Los Angeles and Northern California. Bringing its first satellite location to San Diego’s historic Old Town, Societe Brewing looks forward to further establishing itself as an unquestioned part of the city’s beer fabric. Although the space in its entirety isn’t expected to open until early 2023, Societe fans can look forward to a Fall 2022 pop-up giving guests a sneak peek into the space. Until then, the 2,686 square-foot tasting room will undergo renovations adding a beer bar, retail shop and onsite kitchen. Reflecting the vibrant colors and patterns in Societe’s new futuristic branding, the Old Town tasting room will be flooded with light and color and buzzing with beer folk sipping the classic beers Societe drinkers have come to know and love.

In celebration of its 10th Anniversary, Societe is also launching the Tenth Ann’y, a 10th anniversary exclusive 10% ABV Triple IPA, and one of the hoppiest drinks the brewery has ever created. The Tenth Ann’y is a celebration of hops and the tireless passion that makes Societe what it is.

Ole Smoky Distillery Launches New Moonshine Pineapples with Piña Colada

May 28, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Ole SmokyGATLINBURG, Tennessee – Ole Smoky Distillery, the most visited distillery in the world and #1 moonshine brand in the U.S., has released its latest moonshine fruits and veggies product, Moonshine Pineapples with Piña Colada. The delicious tropical expression joins the distillery’s Moonshine Cherries, Moonshine Pickles and Moonshine Peaches products available nationwide.

“This product was originally launched at our distilleries and because of the great response, we decided to make it available across the country. Ole Smoky is always looking for creative innovative flavors to surprise and delight consumers,” said Robert Hall, CEO, Ole Smoky Distillery.

To celebrate the launch of Pineapples with Piña Colada, Ole Smoky has created an easy and refreshing signature summer cocktail, the Tropic Sunrise, made with 2.5 ounces of Ole Smoky Moonshine Pineapples with Piña Colada Moonshine, 3 ounces of orange juice, 2 ounces of pineapple juice and garnished with an Ole Smoky Moonshine Pineapple, an Ole Smoky Moonshine Cherry and topped with a drizzle of grenadine. If you visit Ole Smoky’s 6th & Peabody Distillery in Nashville, or in a restaurant or bar that serves Ole Smoky, ask for the delicious TN Luau, which is a shot featuring 1 ounce of Piña Colada Moonshine together with 1 -2 chunks of moonshine pineapples.

Ole Smoky first launched their fruits and veggies products with their signature Moonshine Cherries, a delicious combination of maraschino cherries and 100 proof original moonshine. That product’s success in the marketplace led to the creation of Moonshine Peaches, blending luscious juicy peaches with Ole Smoky’s White Lightin’ Moonshine, perfect for Sangrias. Soon after, Ole Smoky released their Moonshine Pickles using crunchy dill pickles, pickled in moonshine which has become a necessary component of a Bloody Mary.

Ole Smoky Distilleries are the most visited distilleries in the world. According to on-premise traffic counters, the four Ole Smoky Tennessee distillery destinations welcomed more than 5.7 million visitors in 2021.

About Ole Smoky® Distillery LLC

Ole Smoky is the leading distiller of premium moonshine in the world, the leading craft distiller in the US and the first federally licensed distillery in the history of East Tennessee. Threes Brewing Releases New Altbier

May 27, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Threes BrewingBROOKLYN, New York – Threes Brewing has just released a brand new Altbier. My Preferred Apocalypse is amber in color, intense and flavor-forward, with a delicate and drinkable finish. German Hersbrucker and Perle hops lend a properly bitter and herbaceous quality to layers of malt character. The beer comes in at just 4.8% ABV. Notes of toasted pumpernickel, tobacco leaf, and dried plum are present.

Altbier could be considered Kolsch’s stylistic spirit animal, given that the style hails from a nearby region in Germany, and possesses the clean, bready, crispness of a lager and the subtle fruitiness of an ale.

Matt Levy, Head Brewer at Threes, says, “While we’re very excited for the Summer of Pils, 2022 might be the Year of The Alt, and we’re really glad this style is gaining more recognition in the industry.”

Tröegs Trail Day Helps Protect Pennsylvania’s Kittatinny Ridge

May 27, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

TroegsHERSHEY, Pennsylvania – Tröegs Independent Brewing announces the release of Trail Day Dry-Hopped Pilsner as part of a continued partnership with The Nature Conservancy. This limited beer benefits Pennsylvania’s Kittatinny Ridge, an ecologically important 185-mile chain of forested mountains that runs through the brewery’s home state.

Trail Day begins with a backbone of German pilsner malt. Dry-hopping with Saaz hops lends mild citrus and earthy notes. As fermentation slows, the Tröegs brewing team reintroduces fresh lager yeast, which conditions the beer and delivers crisp, clean notes of biscuit, dried spice, and a hint of citrus.

A portion of proceeds from Trail Day sales will benefit the Tröegs Trail Day Fund to help protect 15,000 acres of the most critical, connected lands on and next to the ridge – from the Mason-Dixon Line into New York state through the Delaware Water Gap.

“We grew up in the shadow of the Kittatinny Ridge and it passes within 10 miles of the brewery,” says Tröegs co-founding brother Chris Trogner, “so we know this land well. And few things are more important to brewing beer than clean water. We’re proud to be working with The Nature Conservancy to help protect a place that does so much for Pennsylvania and beyond.”

The goal of the Trail Day Fund is to ensure that songbirds, hawks, eagles, bears and even plants can travel as they must, and that nature will continue to provide clean streams, rich forests, recreational trails, and biological diversity.

Trail Day is available in 16-oz. cans throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and New York wherever Tröegs beer is sold.

Trail Day represents just one part of the brewery’s over-arching sustainability goals. In ongoing efforts to decrease its environmental impact, Tröegs recently completed a series of upgrades – including installing more than 1,600 solar panels – that will make its brewery more energy efficient.

New Stony Creek Beer Benefits Save The Sound

May 26, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

New Stony CreekStony Creek Brewery’s newest beer release, a collaboration with a regional environmental nonprofit, seeks to help protect and improve the land, air and water of Connecticut and Long Island Sound.

Save The Sound Light Lager, a Helles lager is described as “a bright and crisp beer with a slightly sweet flavor and a light mouthfeel,” crafted with floor-malted German malts and Tettnanger hops.

The new beer was developed in collaboration with Save the Sound, and will highlight the value of shared natural resources and raise money for the nonprofit’s mission. For every purchase made, the Branford brewery will donate a portion of the proceeds to Save the Sound.

“Save the Sound and Stony Creek Brewery share a love of Long Island Sound and the outdoors, so it was natural to work together,”  said Stony Creek’s founder Ed Crowley, Sr. in a statement. “When we developed Save the Sound Light Lager, we thought about where it would be enjoyed. This crisp, light lager is perfectly suited to a day appreciating the outdoors. Everyone who purchases the lager will be helping to protect the outdoor places they enjoy.”

Save the Sound president Curt Johnson said Stony Creek’s leadership “shares our passion for clean rivers and an abundant Sound.”

“It’s a unique way to get people all across the region engaged in protecting the Sound and its rivers, fighting climate change, saving endangered lands, and restoring ecosystems,” Johnson said. “We hope Save the Sound Light Lager inspires people to reflect on the clean water that was used to brew it, the air they’re breathing as they enjoy it, and the things we can do together to protect these resources.”

The lager is currently available exclusively on draft at Stony Creek’s taproom and select establishments, and will be soon available in retail locations across the Northeast in both six and 12-pack options.

Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company Celebrates 10 Years

May 25, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Neshaminy CreekCROYDON, Pennsylvania – Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company (Neshaminy Creek) rings in a decade of beers and cheers at the Croydon Taproom on Saturday, June 11, 2022, with a 10th Anniversary celebration featuring live music, two anniversary beers, food trucks, tattoos, local artisan vendors, and loads of dog and family-friendly activities. Neshaminy Creek, Bucks County’s first and longest-running production brewery, has recently racked up the craft beer industry’s most coveted awards, including Gold at the Great American Beer Festival® for Croydon is Burning, Wine Enthusiast Top Cream Ale for Better Maize Ahead, and just this month, earned a Gold at the World Beer CupTM for Warehouse Lager.

“The last few years have been an intense learning experience. We came out of crisis to emerge as a stronger, more unified, and better team producing great beer and connecting and sharing experiences with customers whether in our taprooms, at a bar, or in their homes,” says Jenna Ball, CEO of Neshaminy Creek Brewing.

On Saturday, June 11, Neshaminy Creek will release Tenured Triple IPA, brewed with Phantasm, a compound derived from New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc grapes, which lends citrus, guava and passionfruit aromas to the beer. The hazy IPA is fermented with Imperial Yeast’s Juice ale strain which enhances the beer’s already vibrant tropical flavors. At the same time, a double dry-hopping of Citra, Nelson Sauvin, and experimental HB586 gives it a massive hop presence. Sold in 16 oz. four-packs for $18 and cases for $75, Tenured Triple IPA has 10% ABV. Since one anniversary beer is never enough, Neshaminy Creek will also release Decadence, an opulent pastry stout brewed with mounds of flaked oats, 2-row, pale chocolate, and crystal malts for a rich and hearty body. This sumptuous confection was aged in Maker’s Mark barrels for 18-months and conditioned on cacao nibs, coconut, and Tahitian vanilla beans for a dessert-like flavor profile. Clocking in at 12.5% ABV, this beast of a beer is sold in 22 oz. bottles for $20. Both beers will also be available on draft starting on June 11 at the 10th Anniversary Party.

The 10th Anniversary marks a high note for the brewery, coming out of the pandemic with a strong leadership team, an award-winning line of beers, and a stable financial foundation focusing on future growth initiatives. In the coming months, renovations at the Croydon Taproom will reflect the rebrand and enhance the customer experience. Looking forward to the next ten years, Neshaminy Creek will push the limits to brew delicious and inventive craft beer to connect with a diverse community of beer drinkers including longtime supporters.

“The last ten years of being in the craft beer industry has been a wild ride,” says Rob Jahn, Founder and Owner of Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. “As a small production brewery, it’s incredible to see how many other breweries have opened up in that time. We’ve had to adapt to all of that competition and of course, global events or supply chain issues that keep us on our toes. I’m so proud of everyone that’s been part of the last decade here and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the ebbs of flows of the industry than cracking open some 10% beers in early June!”

Music & Comedy Return to Croydon: Two Days of Anniversary Celebrations at Taproom

For 10 years, Neshaminy Creek has been pairing great beer with music and entertainment. Neshaminy Creek’s old friend Danny Tamberelli, best known for his roles in Mighty Ducks and All That, returns to the Croydon Taproom with on-screen brother Michael C. Maronna to get the pre-party started Friday, June 10 at 8 p.m. Hosted by Jeremy Balon, The Adventures of Danny & Mike live podcast will be a night of beers, laughs, and nostalgia as the stars reminisce about growing up on the set of the Nickelodeon classic, The Adventures of Pete & Pete. Tickets for the podcast’s first show of the year are $25, and each attendee will receive a signed poster.

The celebration continues Saturday, June 11, 12-7 p.m. with an official 10th Anniversary Party featuring a full raucous lineup of some of the brewery’s favorite bands, including Screaming Females, Iron Chic, Wild Pink, Big Nothing, and Graduation Speech. Several food trucks will be on-site to satisfy hungry appetites, including Clean Plate Club, Byz Empire, Mr. Big Stuff Cookie, and El Sabor del Bajio. Ellis Coffee, The Bent Spoon, Philly Soft Pretzel, and El Secreto Empanada will also offer tasty treats. A kid’s corner, photo booth, Yardley Tattoo, and axe throwing with Bury the Hatchet will round out the celebration.
