Founders Brewing Supports Michigan Arts Community – Launches #CraftedinMI

March 31, 2020 by Andrew Innes

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan — Founders Brewing Co. has launched #CraftedinMI, a new online campaign to support the local arts community in Michigan. Founders has pledged to use their social media platforms to help promote artists that are deeply affected by Covid-19 Michigan, including makers, musicians, culinary artists, small business owners and more. Throughout the stay-at-home order, the team will be sharing some of their favorite Michigan-based craftspeople with the goal of bringing awareness to their talent and driving support during this time of need.

“Michiganders are known for their persevering spirit and relentless creativity, especially in the face of adversity,” said Co-Founder and President, Dave Engbers. “We want to celebrate and support our local makers by promoting the amazing work they continue to create, and we hope it will inspire others to do the same.”

“I’m so appreciative of the visibility that Founders provided by sharing my artwork through their social platforms,” said Dayna Walton, owner of Solstice Handmade. “Last week was tough and it’s so hard to sit back and watch everything I had been looking forward to financially and otherwise cancel, postpone, or disappear. With the help directing eyes to my artwork and online shop, I was able to recoup income lost from workshop cancellations in March and continue to move forward with projects that employ other local makers in collaboration! I hope that I can pass on joy and relief I felt with others. It’s during times like these that we realize how essential the non-essentials of life are. Art gives life to our minds, homes, and communities, even when everything else in our world is at a standstill.”

How can you get involved? Visit our site and follow us on social media (@foundersbrewing) to read #CraftedinMI stories and to find out more about lending direct support. Please consider purchasing an item, downloading an album, grabbing a coffee and other meaningful way to keep Michigan’s vibrant artistic and crafts businesses open. For MI-based makers who’d like to be considered for a feature, please reach out to social@foundersbrewing.com.

Other Half Brewing Announces All Together Beer Worldwide Collaboration to Benefit Hospitality Industry

March 30, 2020 by Andrew Innes

BROOKLYN, N.Y.- – The team at Other Half Brewing Co is proud to announce All Together, a worldwide beer collaboration created to raise funds & awareness for the industry we love so much. Regardless of location or circumstances, when one member of the hospitality industry struggles, the rest of the group (including brewers, servers, bartenders, bussers, dishwashers, GMs, buyers, chefs & owners) steps in to help and lend a hand.

With this spirit in mind, Other Half Brewing (OHB) is spearheading the All Together project, started by a collective of beer industry partners from around the globe, to raise awareness and provide relief to those struggling in the industry as we’re all in this together.

“Raising awareness about the devastating losses in the hospitality industry is the core vision of this project,” says Matt Monahan, co-founder, Other Half Brewing. “We want to keep these losses at the forefront of conversations so that anyone who wants to help can learn what is happening and find a way to contribute to the recovery.”

How does the project work? #AllTogetherBeer invites any brewer, from any corner of the planet, to participate by providing the tools needed to make the beer at the lowest possible cost, including an open-source recipe, artwork, and name. In exchange, the collective asks that a portion of the proceeds go to supporting hospitality professionals in each brewery’s own community. The rest should be donated to keeping the brewery in business to weather this storm.

Recipe: OHB created a base recipe that easily brewed with commonly sourced ingredients. Each participating brewery can modify the beer as they see fit and brew it at their own convenience.

Artwork + Label: Stout Collective created the label artwork that can be customized by brewery, and Blue Label Printing has offered to print at cost.

Website: Craftpeak Team donated their time, talent & technology for the site
Breweries can get involved by reaching out to alltogether.beer/ for more information.

Beer drinkers can support this cause by signing up for the mailing list. The beers are being brewed around the world, and the newsletter will inform beer lovers worldwide when they’re available to purchase from their local brewery.

At OHB, the proceeds of All Together will go to the Restaurant Workers Community Foundation; website and the beer is expected to be available starting April 2020. Social assets can be found here.

The #AllTogetherBeer project begins with the following breweries with more to be announced: Other Half Brewing, NYC; Side Project, St. Louis, MO; Monkish, Torrance, CA; Trillium, Boston, MA; Alvarado St, Monterey, CA; Arizona Wilderness, Phoenix, AZ; Outer Range, Frisco, CO; The Veil, Richmond, VA; Omnipollo, Stockholm, Sweden; Humble Sea, Santa Cruz, CA; Finback, NY; Crak, Padua, Italy; 3 Sheeps Brewing, Sheboygan, WI; Sigma Brewing, Houston, TX; Southern Grist, Nashville, TN; Burial, Asheville, NC; Mikerphone, Chicago, IL; Pilot Project, Chicago, IL; Modist, Minneapolis, MN; Homes, Detroit, MI; KCBC, Brooklyn, NY; Industrial Arts, Garnerville, NY; Fifth Hammer, Queens, NY; Hidden Springs, Tampa, FL; Green Cheek, Anaheim, CA; Bottle Logic, Anaheim, CA; Parish, Broussard, LA; Vitamin Sea, Weymouth, MA; Ska, Durango, CO; Equilibrium, Middletown, NY; Northern Monk, Leeds, UK; Garage Project, Wellington, NZ; Wylam, Newcastle, UK; Lervig, Stavanger, Norway; Juguetes Perdidos, Buenos Aires, Argentina; Carton Atlantic, Highlands, NJ; American Solera, Tulsa, OK; Civil Society, Jupiter, FL; Anchorage, Anchorage, AK; Hoof Hearted, Columbus, OH; Barrier, Oceanside, NY; Sand City, Northport, NY; Bellwoods, Toronto, ON; Whiplash, Dublin, Ireland; Boundary, Belfast, N. Wild Leap Launches New Beer And Fundraising Campaign in Support of Service Industry

March 30, 2020 by Andrew Innes

LAGRANGE, Ga. — Wild Leap is thrilled to introduce Gratuity Light Beer, a craft beer devoted to supporting service industry workers who have been hit hard by the worldwide COVID-19 crisis. For every purchase of Gratuity, Wild Leap is donating 10% of profits to nonprofit organizations who help support the service industry through emergency financial assistance.

“In times of crisis, service industry workers often are left without benefits to fall back on. In the current climate, empty bars, taprooms, hotels and restaurants have left workers without the support from customers that they rely on,” says Anthony Rodriguez, Wild Leap co-founder and CEO. “The purpose of Gratuity Light Beer is to provide support for these hard working people.”

Gratuity is a crisp, cold-conditioned beer featuring simple ingredients like Pilsen malt, traditional Czech Saaz hops and Wild Leap’s house yeast. The use of traditional hops and simple Pilsen malt combine to give this beer its approachable and drinkable properties. Gratuity is the first light beer to come out of the Wild Leap brewhouse and is the first beer available in a 12-pack. The brewery aims to provide consumers with a refreshing, lower ABV craft option which still provides the flavorful profile you’ve come to expect from Wild Leap.

“Gratuity doubles as a way to support the industry while providing people with more accessible, affordable craft beer,” says Chris Elliott, Wild Leap’s Chief Brewing Officer. “With all that’s happening right now, the release of Gratuity is more important than ever.”

Keeping in line with their history of giving back, Wild Leap has preemptively donated $5,000 to nonprofit organization Bottleshare via a GoFundMe campaign (wildleap.com/donate) they have set up. With the online campaign, the initial goal is to raise $15,000 in donations. Once the beer is released on April 6th, 10% of profits from Gratuity will continue to support service industry organizations year-round.

“Wild Leap could not have come to us during a more crucial time!” says Bottleshare Founder, Christopher Glenn. “Their passion was incredible. There were no stipulations, no fine print, it was simply, ‘Hey, we’ve heard of your mission and we want to help.’ At a time when being selfish is easy but support is so necessary, Wild Leap is stepping up and making an impact.”

Gratuity Light Beer will debut the week of April 6.

If you are someone working in the craft beverage industry and in need of support, go to website to apply for assistance.

New Holland Brewing Announces Virtual Concert Series Supporting Local Musicians and Artists

March 26, 2020 by Andrew Innes

HOLLAND, Mich.— New Holland Brewing, craft brewery and distillery based in Holland, MI, reacts to the current global COVID-19 pandemic with a show of support to affected communities. As part of the hugely affected hospitality industry, the team at New Holland Brewing today announced the Gezellig Virtual Concert Series, creating an opportunity for musicians and artists to play to fans and the wider community from the safety of their own homes.

Gezellig is a Dutch word that loosely translates to a feeling of togetherness, somewhere between cozy and inviting. It is often used to describe a social and relaxed environment spent with loved ones. This represents the connection that New Holland aims to facilitate in all of their brewpubs, restaurants and community events.

“Musicians and artists have long been an integral part of New Holland’s efforts to create savored moments for our guests, providing entertainment and enhancing the experience at our pubs,” said Adam Dickerson, New Holland Brand Manager. “The current situation has eliminated restaurants, pubs, and venues as viable sources of income for these people, so in an effort to show these artists support, we have created a ‘virtual concert series’, giving them an opportunity to showcase their talents on our social platforms and allow our fans to contribute to them financially. We’re excited to announce the launch of the Gezellig Concert Series – because we could all use some togetherness and good news.”

Starting Monday March 23rd, 2020 and recurring every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 4:00pm PST / 5:00pm MST / 6:00pm CST / 7:00pm EST, a musical act will play live on the New Holland Brewing instagram page for 30-40 minutes. Featured musicians will be able to share links to their own financial platforms, such as Venmo, Cash App, Paypal, or a charity of their choosing and New Holland Brewing encourages viewers to donate a minimum of $5 to the artist as a show of support and source of income in these trying times.

Upcoming local musical acts in the New Holland Brewing Gezellig Virtual Concert Series:

Monday March 23rd – Michigander
