Prost Brewing Company Releases Summer Seasonals Brewed in Northglenn

April 22, 2024 by Spencer Mapes

NORTHGLENN, Colorado -Prost Brewing Co., the Colorado brewery dedicated to the pursuit of German craft bier perfection, announces the release of two new summer seasonal offerings both brewed at its new Northglenn, Colo., brewery: Summer Lager and the Summer Variety Pack. Drink like a German all summer long at a Prost biergarten in Northglenn, Denver, Highlands Ranch or Fort Collins or grab them at retail in Prost’s five-state distribution area across Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Idaho, and Montana.

Summer Lager (5.8% ABV) – Make this crisp lager part of your summer tradition. Prost’s Summer Lager is fruity, easy to drink and playful. Simultaneously complex and intricate while remaining balanced and smooth, it’s the ideal complement to the season. A Munich-style Export Lager characterized by flavors of stone fruit, floral spice, sweet biscuit and a crisp, dry finish, Summer Lager is available on draft and in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans.

Summer Variety Pack – Summer Lager joins three Prost flagship lagers in this limited-time seasonal 12-pack of 12 oz. cans. Perfect for gatherings with friends during the warm-weather season, this pack contains three cans of four Prost favorites: Summer Lager, Prost Pilsner (4.9% ABV), Prost Dunkel (5.6% ABV), and Prost Kölsch (4.8% ABV).

“These biers were crafted in our new Northglenn brewery headquarters using a combination of time-honored German methods and state-of-the-art equipment,” said Prost Brewing Co. President David Deline. “We hope you enjoy them while partaking in other fine German summer traditions, like drinking bier in the sunshine and gathering with friends for live music and yard games.”

All of Prost Brewing Co.’s award-winning biergarten-style biers begin with authentic, hand-selected malt, hops, water and yeast, crafted through the patient process of slow lagering. The team at Prost believes in preserving processes like these, which have been perfected over centuries, in order to craft the highest quality biers.

Just like the summer season, these seasonal biers won’t last forever. Learn more about Prost Brewing Co. and where to find Prost’s award-winning German-inspired, Colorado crafted biers at prostbrewing.com.

The event will feature 5 beer releases, live music, a barbeque food truck, limited edition merch, and celebrating the history of the Lakewood brewery.

The big highlight of the weekend will be the release of 5 beers which include:

  • Colorado Kool-Aid DIPA: A DDH DIPA brewed with 5 different hops (clocking in at 121 IBUs) in collaboration with Ryan Wankel of the Lakewood Fermentation Club, who won a scale-up competition to brew the beer for Old 121’s anniversary
  • Peach Port Farmhouse: A funky farmhouse beer that has aged 11 months in port barrels and Palisade Peaches from Clark Family Orchards

The Zahrte family joined the Banded Oak Brewing team and Old 121’s current owners, Sam and Katie Nicholson to brew the collab, which will be released for the anniversary (and also featured at Collab Fest on March 30).

Old 121 Brewhouse will also be opening its seasonal patio, The Yukon St. Beer Garden, for the festivities (weather permitting), which will include beer garden seating, more dog-friendly areas, and lawn games.

There will also be limited edition merch available for the celebration featuring the brewery’s Olde School, public house style graphics.

Old 121 Brewhouse is a small brewery in Lakewood that was founded in March 2019 – and the 1st anniversary party was canceled due to the COVID shut down. Lone Tree Brewing to Open Second Location in Parker, CO

February 7, 2024 by Spencer Mapes

LONE TREE, Colorado— Lone Tree Brewing is ecstatic to announce its second location in neighboring city Parker, Colorado— slated to open in March.

After years of searching for the brewery’s next location, Lone Tree Brewing will open another taproom in the former Barnett & Son Brewing Co. location at 18425 Pony Express Drive in Parker, Colorado. Barnett & Son Owner Andrew Barnett, a long time friend of Lone Tree Brewing, will soon retire; Transforming this location into Lone Tree Brewing 2.0 was the perfect fit.

“The acquisition of Barnett’s brewing assets and tap room will allow Lone Tree to research and develop new and innovative recipes that will be served at both locations for the immediate future,” says Jerry Siote, Lone Tree Brewing Co-Owner and Director of Brewhouse Operations. “The flexibility and versatility of brewing on a smaller system in Parker can provide much-needed customer feedback for scaling up newer recipes and further experimentation.”

The Lone Tree Brewing team will take over operations at the end of February 2024, and target a public grand opening for March 1, 2024. More details about the opening will be announced in coming weeks.

About Lone Tree Brewing Company

Lone Tree Brewing Company was the first brewery in Lone Tree, Colorado that opened near Park Meadows Mall in 2011. The neighborhood-focused, family-friendly brewery and tasting room regularly hosts community events that gather around a stylistically diverse lineup of flagship, seasonal, and limited release beers. Lone Tree’s cans are sold across the state of Colorado, and in select locations in Kansas. Its draft beer is poured at many bars and restaurants across its distribution footprint as well.

Prost Brewing Co. Celebrates Northglenn Biergarten Grand Opening on Jan. 4

December 28, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

DENVER, Colorado – Award-winning Colorado craft brewery Prost Brewing Co. will celebrate the Grand Opening of its Northglenn Biergarten on Thursday, Jan. 4. The Northglenn Biergarten, Prost’s fourth biergarten in Colorado, is a 10,000 sq. ft. community gathering space focused on elevated German cuisine and world-class biers. It’s the first portion of Prost’s new, nearly 60,000 sq. ft. production headquarters to open.

“Prost is about bringing good bier and good food to good people,” says Prost President David Deline. “With the opening of our Northglenn Biergarten, we’re excited to bring authentic German bier culture to more people across Colorado. This biergarten elevates traditional German cuisine in a new way and has the same modern and welcoming atmosphere that you can expect from Prost.“

German inspired and Colorado crafted, Prost’s Northglenn Biergarten features counter service for lunch and dinner. A curated menu of traditional German fare includes a sharable sausage board with sauerkraut and mustard, authentic pretzels from Colorado-based XLVII’s Bakery served with fontina fondue and German mustard, and bratwurst sausages cooked in Prost’s crisp and toasty Vienna Lager. Pair any dish with the Prost Pils, which recently took home a silver medal at the 2023 Great American Beer Festival in the German-Style Pilsner category.

The biergarten’s welcoming atmosphere blends traditional German elements like bench seating with modern industrial design. The biergarten and its activity-based outdoor venue have been thoughtfully designed to host a range of experiences, from private gatherings and family get-togethers to casual steins at the bar.

“Hospitality was the driving force behind this biergarten,” says Deline. “Our vision is a space that is welcoming and accessible for the community to get an authentic taste of Germany right here in Colorado.”

Before heading to the lawn for games or catching a live performance on the outdoor stage, guests should stop at one of the several viewing areas in the biergarten to sneak a peek at the progress on Prost’s buildout of its new, state-of-the-art production brewery. A self-guided tour outlines the brewing process and Prost’s meaningful approach to honoring German brewing traditions, from sourcing high quality ingredients to brewing authentic, classic styles. Prost will begin production at the Northglenn brewery early next year, bringing traditional German brewing techniques to life with modern brewing technology.

Join us for the Grand Opening of Prost Brewing Co.’s Northglenn Biergarten on Jan. 4 at 351 West 104th Avenue. A soft opening will run daily beginning Dec. 20. The Northglenn Biergarten is open for lunch and dinner service Monday-Thursday 2-10 pm, Friday-Saturday 11 am-11 pm, and Sunday 11 am-9 pm.

October 23, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

TELLURIDE, Colorado— Two Colorado craft beverage powerhouses, Telluride Brewing Co. and Spirit Hound Distillers, are thrilled to unleash their first groundbreaking collaboration – ‘Saint Barley – The Lover Barleywine’.

To celebrate the culmination of this exciting partnership, the official release party will be held at Fire on The Mountain on October 17th at their 32nd Street location. Beer enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike are invited to join in the revelry, as “Saint Barley” takes center stage.

Aged with love for 10 months in barrels that clinched the title of Whisky Of The Year in 2022 at the London International Spirits Competition, “Saint Barley” uses Crisp Maris Otter as its primary base malt. This remarkable brew isn’t just the perfect blend of craft beer and artisan spirits, it’s a testament to lasting friendships and inspired creativity that captures the spirit of Saint Barley in every sip.

“Crafting ‘Saint Barley – The Lover Barleywine’ has been a highly-anticipated and exciting journey with old and new friends,” explains Chris Fish, Chief Brewing Officer and Co-Founder of Telluride Brewing Co. “In my brewing career, this is one of the best barrel-aged beers I’ve ever had the pleasure of crafting. What makes it so special? Aging it for a solid 10 months in the absolute best Straight Whisky Barrels you can find on the planet!”

Saint Barley – The Lover Barleywine boasts a flavor profile that marries the complexity of whisky and American Oak, delivering layers of decadence with notes of Caramel and Toffee and subtle undertones of Dark Cherry, Vanilla, as well as a touch of Dark Chocolate.

This barleywine is designed for sipping, making it the perfect companion for a chilly night and slow-smoked pork ribs. Pouring a deep Mahogany red, it’s a brew that promises warmth and richness as an ode to the love of the hound and man’s best friend. Saint Barley honors Barley, Fish’s late beloved canine, a legendary Saint Bernese with a heart of gold.

“This beer isn’t just about brewing; it’s a nod to a true and loyal friend. Barley, my dog and constant companion, was a legend in the Colorado craft beer scene,” says Fish. “’Saint Barley’ is a tribute to his memory and the unique and unbreakable bond we all share with our four-legged friends.”

Eighty cases of this limited edition brew are now available in 16oz can four-packs for $19.99 at select stores from Denver to Pueblo and throughout Colorado’s unique and various mountain town, and Durango, too. More information regarding the beer and its distribution can be found on Telluride Brewing’s website.

As an homage to the spirit of the hound and the memory of Barley, the Telluride Brewing dog legend, “Saint Barley” emerges as a love letter to Barley Dog, a barleywine masterpiece enclosed in Spirit Hound barrels.

In addition to this exciting collaboration, Spirit Hound Distillers has recently opened a new Tasting Room in the Denver Highlands neighborhood at 36th & Tejon. Visitors can now sample all their spirits and special releases in Denver or at their Lyons distillery.

Denver Beer Co. Commences Distribution of Easy Living Hop Water Non-Alcoholic Beverage

October 23, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

DENVER, Colorado – Denver Beer Co. announced the market release of Easy Living Hop Water, a non-alcoholic sparkling beverage. Brewed and canned by Denver Beer Co., Easy Living is the first hop water from a Colorado-based craft brewery to be distributed in off-premise locations throughout the Colorado market and beyond. The sparkling beverage will be sold starting immediately in select independent off-premise retailers, restaurants and bars, as well as in all Denver Beer Co. taprooms.

Easy Living Hop Water contains zero sugar, zero carbohydrates, and is both gluten-free and alcohol-free. Available in Citrus and Hibiscus flavors, Easy Living is a sparkling beverage containing carbonated water, CryoPop hops, citric acid, natural flavors, and brewer’s yeast. Easy Living is a true “never-alc” product. Where some non-alcoholic beverages contain less than .5% ABV, Easy Living is not fermented and has not had alcohol removed in the brewing process. The beverage is 0% ABV and is crisp, light, and refreshing with just a hint of hop aroma and flavor.

“We know there are many reasons and occasions for an NA beverage and we wanted to provide our consumers with an option in those moments,” shared Patrick Crawford, co-founder of Denver Beer Co. “Easy Living pays homage to our brewing roots and features the hop flavors and aromas that the craft beer drinker knows and loves, but also checks all the boxes for health-conscious consumers. Hop Water is a relatively new category of beverage and is a great NA option for someone who doesn’t want the calories, carbs or gluten that come with your typical NA beer. At the same time, it has a more complex flavor profile than just your standard bubbly water. Easy Living is super refreshing and can be enjoyed any time of day and on any occasion.”

Easy Living Hop Water first debuted in Denver Beer Co. taprooms in January, 2023 and was brewed in small-batch form. Easy Living is now available for purchase in 6-pack cases as well as single serving cans at liquor stores, restaurants and bars, retailers and restaurants that are not licensed to sell alcohol, grocery and convenience stores, as well as Denver Beer Co. taprooms. Easy Living will be distributed throughout Colorado initially with additional market releases planned for early 2024.

LUKI Brewery to Unveil Sustainability Metrics and Release Beer with Sustainable Grain on Earth Day

April 17, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

ARVADA, Colorado – Operating a brewery uses a lot of natural resources. Since day one LUKI Brewery has designed and developed its processes to focus on responsible sustainability practices for breweries similar in size. For LUKI, self-reporting is the first step towards making sure that the brewery is performing at optimal levels.

“After almost three years, we feel it’s time to benchmark our efforts, and we’re happy to see results like our water usage,” says LUKI Co-Founder and Ringmaster Jeff Smith. “Breweries of our size use a median of 13 gallons of water to one gallon of beer out of the tap. In 2022, we had a 7-to-1 ratio, and will continue efforts to improve as we grow.”

The brewery’s self-reporting, which will be shared on April 22, is the kick-off to LUKI’s Earth Day celebration. The brewery has teamed up with Scraps Mile High, a compost pick-up service, to brew a beer using a sustainable grain called Kernza® from Sustain-A-Grain. This perennial grain grows year-round and has massive roots that help improve air, soil and water quality. Mobius Loop, a light Blonde Ale with a slightly sweet, nutty flavor, as well as a 5-gallon cask-version of the beer with local honey from the downtown Denver rooftop beehives at Civic Center Plaza, will tap at noon.

Sustainability practices can be a daunting task so LUKI has also invited the following vendors for an informational open house from 3 to 6:30 p.m.

  • Scraps Mile High: premiere compost pickup service
  • Homestead in the Hood: bringing hive fresh honey to your home
  • Rose Roots Community Garden: organic community garden

Hip Hop and Funk Group, People In Between, will play two sets (3-4:30 p.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m.) and D’Toque Food Truck will be stationed at the brewery serving up delicious Salvadorian eats.

“Preserving natural resources has been in our DNA since back in our homebrewing days where we were coming up with ways to save and reuse as much water as possible,” says Smith. “So come and check out what we’re up to and learn how you can also take small steps to preserve our environment!”

About LUKI Brewery
