SAN FRANCISCO, CA — On Friday, June 26, San Francisco Brewing Co. (SFBCo.) will open its largest location to date: a new 18,680-square-foot brewery, restaurant, and distillery at 100 Hooper Street in the Mission Bay neighborhood. The project significantly expands production capacity for the family-owned craft brewery while adding a full-service restaurant, distilling operation, and event space.
The new Mission Bay outpost features indoor and outdoor dining, a 26-seat bar with a 2 a.m. liquor license, a large mezzanine event space, and a courtyard. Guests can enjoy views of the brewing operation, including a massive 750-gallon copper pot still imported from Scotland — the largest in California. Additional highlights include an arcade corner with Pac-Man, a photo booth, sports memorabilia, and planned brewery tours.
Award-Winning Beer & Elevated Pub Fare
Led by Brewmaster Justin Boehle (formerly of Gordon Biersch), the brewery will produce core favorites like Alcatraz Amber Ale, Presidio Pilsner, Fog City Hazy IPA, and Marina Blonde, alongside seasonal and experimental releases. The kitchen, helmed by Executive Chef Nas Maldonado, offers elevated pub classics including Sicilian pizzas, smash burgers, tacos, skewers, and shareable appetizers in a family-friendly atmosphere.
A standout draft cocktail program (developed with consultant Shane McKnight of Top Hat Provisions) features creative options like Espresso Martinis and Spicy Margaritas, plus non-alcoholic drinks and an affordable selection of California wines.
A Family Legacy Meets Modern San Francisco
Founded in 2012 by Josh Leavy, San Francisco Brewing Co. draws on a family brewing heritage dating back to 1923 in Mexico. Josh is joined by his wife Jennifer and brother Aaron Leavy in building the brand. The Mission Bay location represents the next chapter for the only brewery with end-to-end operations in San Francisco.
“Mission Bay felt like the right next step for us,” said Josh Leavy. “It gives us the space to grow our production and do what we love on a larger scale, but at the end of the day, it is about having a place where people want to come back.”
The thoughtfully designed space by King O’Kelly Architects blends industrial character with warm hospitality, making production visible throughout for an immersive experience. Located near Oracle Park, Chase Center, and UCSF, the new brewery is poised to become a destination for locals, tech workers, sports fans, and visitors alike.
