New Realm Releasing Hold On Juicy DIPA and Bat Wit Crazy Witbier

January 24, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

ATLANTA, Georgia – This month, New Realm Brewing is releasing Hold on Juicy DIPA, the first in this year’s music-themed Just Like Music Double IPA series, as well as Bat Wit Crazy, the company’s first canned Belgian-style Witbier release.

“I am excited about both of these beers,” said Mitch Steele, Co-Founder and Brewmaster of New Realm Brewing. “Bat Wit Crazy is a Belgian Wit and happens to be a style that we have not really done, so it seemed like a natural opportunity to brew something tasty with a heavy nod towards classic brewing traditions. Our Brewing & Hoperations team is filled with musicians and music nerds, so our Just Like Music series has been super cool to create. For this first one, we used some of our favorite hops for the first time with the new Cosmic Punch Ale Yeast from Omega Yeast. Cosmic Punch Ale is a thiol active strain which produces a tremendous amount of tropical flavors in the beer.”

Hold on Juicy DIPA is the first of four that what will make up this year’s quarterly Just Like Music Series. It is a New England style hazy and juicy IPA brewed with wheat malt, flaked wheat and flaked oats. A few sips of this brew and taste buds will be taken to the next level with massive amounts of orange, lemon and pineapple notes from the Azacca, El Dorado and Idaho 7 hop additions.

Bat Wit Crazy is a traditional Belgian Wit (white) Bier brewed with Pilsner malt, red wheat malt and flaked oats. It is spiced with Coriander, orange peel and a couple of top-secret additions. The nose will pick up banana and other fruity esters, as well as pepper and clove spices, with hints of citrus. One sip and one may just lose their mind.

SweetWater Brewing Company Celebrates 26 Years of Brewing

January 17, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

ATLANTA, Georgia – SweetWater Brewing Company, LLC (“SweetWater”), a subsidiary of Tilray Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ: TLRY and TSX: TLRY), announces its 26th Anniversary Throwdown, an all-day party featuring throwback beers, art and musical performances by Lotus, The Floozies, Dogs in a Pile, and Hedonistas. The event will take place on Feb. 18 at the Atlanta brewery from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.

“We’re stoked to celebrate 26 years of brewing with some killer jams, heady beer, local art and great food,” says Mike Boudreaux, SweetWater’s director of hospitality.

In honor of the craft beer drinkers who have supported the brewery over the years, SweetWater will be re-releasing popular seasonal and year-round beers in 2023 that customers have asked to bring out of retirement.

For its winter seasonal lineup, SweetWater is re-releasing Georgia Brown, a southern-style brown ale flowing with deep caramel and chocolate malts that create subtle nutty and toasted flavors. A former limited release that was a crowd favorite, Georgia Brown delivers rich cocoa notes with aromas ranging from roasted coffee to chocolate-covered fruit, which are exceptionally balanced with bitterness from Strata, El Dorado, and Sultana hops. Georgia Brown is now flowing at SweetWater’s Atlanta and Fort Collins taprooms, as well as taps in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

“SweetWater is pumped to bring back Georgia Brown, a crowd-favorite limited release. The winter months are the best time to enjoy rich, warming ales loaded with caramel and chocolate notes, so be on the lookout for this delicious brown ale at your local watering hole,” says Anna Ferro, SweetWater’s Director of Marketing.

For its anniversary party, SweetWater will bring back another popular beer, Exodus Porter, a Great American Beer Festival Medal winner that was retired from its year-round lineup in 2013. This limited batch of Exodus will be available on draft exclusively at the Atlanta taproom starting Feb. 18.

“We’re bringing back another oldie but a goodie for our anniversary party,” Ferro says. “It’s been years since we last brewed Exodus, and it’s one of the most requested beers consumers ask us to bring out of retirement. This party felt like the perfect time to do that.”

The anniversary concert will be headlined by Lotus, whose groove-based improvisations have been a mainstay on the jam circuit for more than two decades, and The Floozies, a live electronic duo that fuses bass-driven beats and funk.

The following ticket packages are now available for SweetWater’s 26th anniversary concert:

Limited-run early birds: $40 (no re-entry to event)
General admission: $45 (no re-entry to event)
Super Heady VIP: $75. (Includes 2 complimentary beers, concert poster, and access to VIP restrooms, bar, concert viewing area, and VIP gate with unlimited re-entry.)

The concert will take place at SweetWater’s Atlanta brewery, rain or shine. There will be very limited parking at the event, and SweetWater strongly encourages people to not drive, especially if they plan on consuming beer. Attendees must be 21 to enter.

Wild Leap Announces Specialty South Downtown Atlanta-Honored Beer

January 6, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

LAGRANGE, Georgia – Wild Leap, Georgia-based brewery, distillery and winery, announces the release of a new beer “SouthDown”, a Piña Colada Double IPA that honors the opening of their brand-new Atlanta taproom in Centennial Yards. SouthDown joins Wild Leap’s exceptional line of delicious products and will be exclusively offered at select retailers in Atlanta.

“To celebrate the opening of our new location in Atlanta, we decided to look at some of our favorite recipes and combine some elements to create something new,” said Chris Elliot, Chief Brewing Officer. “We are big fans of both coconut and pineapple in our IPAs, so we decided to create a Piña Colada Double IPA featuring toasted coconut flakes, pineapple, and lime puree.”

SouthDown has refreshing fruity and hazy notes for drinkers. This beer is a Piña Colada-inspired ale featuring coconut and citrus-flavored hops, sitting at an ABV 9.0%, IBU 44. Wild Leap adds toasted coconut to the mash and finishes the beer with tropical flavors from a pineapple and lime puree.

“We started with our full-bodied hazy IPA with tons of flaked oats and used two coconut-forward hops: Sabro Cryo and HBC 472. We also used our hand-picked varieties Citra and Simcoe for some citrus notes,” said Elliot. “The result is a beautiful, hoppy Piña Colada-inspired double IPA that we think people are going to love drinking at our new location!”

Wild Leap’s Atlanta taproom is now open at 125 Ted Turner Drive NW, Atlanta GA, 30303. The newly renovated taproom encompasses close to 16,000 square feet and will offer a wide selection of their famous beverages with their full bar.

About Wild Leap

Established in 2017, Wild Leap provides consumers with exceptional craft beverages that range from beer, spirits and cocktails. Founders Rob Goldstein and Anthony Rodriguez saw a gap in the alcoholic beverage market, so they created drinkable, approachable and high-quality products. Hailing from LaGrange, Georgia, Wild Leap will soon have a multi-level, 15,340 square-foot brewery, distillery and event destination in Atlanta’s Centennial Yards. Wild Leap can be found across the southeast including Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama.
