East Brother Beer Company 7th Anniversary

February 12, 2024 by Spencer Mapes

RICHMOND, California – We’re excited to share the news that East Brother Beer Company celebrates our 7-year anniversary at the taproom in Richmond on Sunday, February 18th! We invite you to join us for an all-day event to close out Bay Area Beer Week; the event will feature special beers, the Tapwagon + Bierstacheln experience, delicious food, and live music – all are welcome, including kids.

At the forefront of our anniversary celebration is RFK ’89, a beer that stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit of our industry. Brewed in partnership with our friends Dave McLean of Admiral Maltings and Eddie Gobbo of Harmonic Brewing Company, and our own Brewmaster Paul Liszewski, RFK ’89 is a a British Golden Ale – a variation of the original Bickershaw ’72. Named after Paul’s first Grateful Dead show and brewed on Eddie’s birthday, RFK ’89 will be available on draft and as part of our Taproom Series.

Our iconic Tapwagon will serve as a focal point of the celebration, offering an array of beers including our barrel-aged series and newly-released Doppelbock – and the highlight will undoubtedly be the Bierstacheln demonstration, a traditional method utilizing a hot poker (really!) that caramelizes beer sugars, and adds an amazing dimension in flavor and enjoyment. To add to the fun, S’mores kits will be available for purchase.

As always, we’re bringing the food and the sounds! We’ve partnered with local food trucks Golden Gate Bistro and Uncle Cheezy’s to provide something for everyone. Adding to the festivities, Grammy-nominated artist and Richmond local Andre Thierry will set the tone with live music from 3-6pm.

Event Details:

Date: Sunday, February 18th
Time: Begins at noon, lasts all day
Location: East Brother Beer Company, 1001 Canal Blvd., Richmond, CA 94804
Admission: Free

Introducing East Brother Beer Co.’s Holiday Series

December 8, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

RICHMOND, California – As the holiday season approaches, East Brother is excited to announce a special addition to the festive cheer: our limited-edition Barrel-Aged Series. This series introduces two meticulously crafted barrel-aged beers – the Russian Imperial Stout and the Belgian Tripel. The Barrel-Aged Series is our ode to the brewers of yesteryear, a nod to the artisans who believed that time and patience were ingredients just as crucial as malt and yeast. Each has been aged for an entire year in carefully selected bourbon barrels, embodying a commitment to quality and tradition.

This release is not just about introducing two exceptional beers; it’s about embracing the spirit of the holidays. This is a time that people seek out unique, memorable experiences and gifts. Our Barrel-Aged Series offers just that – a rare and thoughtful present for beer lovers and a delightful addition to holiday gatherings. In a year where many are seeking comfort in the familiar, we’re bringing a touch of the extraordinary to the table.

About the Barrel-Aged Beers:

Barrel-Aged Russian Imperial Stout (11.7% ABV): Bold and dark, this stout weaves together flavors of dark cacao, coffee, toasted oak and bourbon. It’s a complex narrative in a glass, perfect for savoring during those long winter nights.

Barrel-Aged Belgian Tripel (10.3% ABV): This beer combines the timeless Belgian yeast character with notes of vanilla, oak and sweet cacao, enriched by the bourbon barrel’s embrace. It’s a smooth sipper, ideal for toasting the year’s end, and celebrating new beginnings ahead.

Each Holiday Gift Box, priced at $45, is a curated experience of our Barrel-Aged Series. You can choose between a box featuring two 16oz cans of the Barrel-Aged Russian Imperial Stout, or the Barrel-Aged Belgian Tripel, accompanied by a seasonal-themed commemorative glass. These boxes make the perfect holiday gift, offering a taste of our year-long journey in brewing, wrapped up in a package ideal for sharing with friends, family, or savoring yourself.

East Brother Beer Company Announces New Core Beer to Award-Winning Lineup

April 14, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

RICHMOND, California – East Brother Beer Company announces its first new Core beer since inception! Joining the lineup of award-winning beers is East Brother’s Blonde Ale, a light-bodied easy-drinking beer that fits in perfectly with their classic approach. The Richmond, CA brewery has built a reputation for its unwavering commitment to brewing classic styles with precision, and the release of Blonde Ale is no exception. Taking inspiration from American beer culture that values beers everyone can enjoy, the brewery’s latest creation is a refreshing and approachable beer that will appeal to many and stand the test of time.

The Production team at East Brother Beer Company spent the past six months crafting the perfect recipe for the Blonde Ale, ensuring that it represents the best example of the beer style available today. The result is a crisp and clean ale with subtle malt sweetness and a dry finish, making it incredibly drinkable and perfect for any occasion. The beer is brewed with a combination of pilsner and wheat malts, which give it its light color and body, and is hopped with East Kent Goldings and Loral for a low to medium hop bitterness. It’s a sessionable beer that pairs well with sunshine and good company – summertime and the drinking is easy. East Brother Beer’s Blonde Ale is available now on draft throughout California, and will release in 16oz cans on April 17th.

“We’ve been thoughtful in our approach to growth and staying true to our mission to brew the classics. Bringing a Blonde to our Core lineup has been a labor of love for our team, and we’re confident that it will quickly become a favorite among all beer lovers,” said Chris Coomber, co-founder of East Brother Beer Company.
