SweetWater Launches New ‘Half-a-Gummie’ IPA

November 20, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

ATLANTA, Georgia— SweetWater Brewing Company (“SweetWater Brewing” or “SweetWater”), the largest craft brewer in the Southeast and a subsidiary of Tilray Brands, Inc. (“Tilray” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: TLRY and TSX: TLRY), announced the latest innovation in its acclaimed IPA series – ‘Half-A-Gummie’ IPA. This new line of India Pale Ales, bursting with fruit-forward flavors, is a twist on the wildly successful SweetWater Gummies Double IPA – which launched earlier this year, now reimagined with a more session-friendly alcohol content. The original Gummies IIPA is available in cans nationwide while the innovative Half-A-Gummie IPA is ready to tantalize consumer taste buds on draft.

Building on the trailblazing success of the SweetWater Gummies line, ‘Half-A-Gummie’ IPA emerges as a natural evolution in SweetWater’s pursuit of innovation and excellence in craft brewing. The SweetWater Gummies series launched as a testament to the brewery’s commitment to flavor-forward and high-ABV ales, setting a new benchmark in the Double IPA category. These ales, notably the Tropical IIPA and Fruit Punch IIPA with a potent 9.5% ABV, captured the essence of summer with their haze, juiciness, and bold, fruity flavors.

‘Half-A-Gummie’ retains the essence of the Gummies series—its captivating fruit flavors and aromatic appeal—while presenting a lower alcohol-by-volume content as an alternative option for consumers; The launch series of Half-A-Gummie includes the same two great varieties from the original series: Tropical IPA, and Fruit Punch IPA, each boasting a 5.5% alcohol-by-volume. These new brews are a masterful blend of fruit explosions, featuring the luscious flavors of strawberry, pineapple, orange, and cherry, culminating in a uniquely smooth, incredibly flavorful, and drinkable IPA experience.

This new line is a testament to SweetWater’s agility in adapting to consumer preferences, offering a lower-ABV IPA that still embodies the brewery’s signature blend of bold flavors and easy drinkability. This strategic move aligns with a market report predicting a 6 percent CAGR growth in the fruit beer market over the next decade, driven by a growing preference for beers that offer both refreshing taste and a gentler alcohol presence, much like ‘Half-A-Gummie’.

“Our Gummies Double IPA has been a huge hit with consumers who crave fruit-forward, high-ABV beers. We’ve also discovered a strong demand, especially with our on-premise partners, for beers with a similar flavor profile and less alcohol. We’re excited to offer drinkers the choice to enjoy an easy-drinking IPA with low bitterness and delicious fruit flavors while tapping into a lower ABV option,” said Ty Gilmore, President of U.S. Beers for Tilray Beer.

Discover the revolution in IPA – Half-A-Gummie is here to redefine expectations and excite palates.

ATLANTA, Georgia — SweetWater Brewing Company (“SweetWater Brewing” or “SweetWater”), the ninth largest craft brewer in the U.S. and a subsidiary of Tilray Brands, Inc. SweetWater Gummies Tropical IIPA and Fruit Punch IIPA, both 9.5% alcohol by volume (ABV), will bolster SweetWater’s year-round lineup with innovative, fruit-forward styles that cater to the fastest growing category in craft beer.

Setting a new standard for flavor, drinkability, aroma, and ABV, SweetWater Gummies redefine the traditional Double IPA. Departing from the intimidating bitterness, SweetWater has transformed this classic craft style by infusing it with sweet, irresistible juice—delivering an unparalleled sensory experience. Crafted with Citra hops and real fruit, these full-flavored, 9.5% ABV Hazy IIPAs are as refreshing and approachable as they are potent.

“We created SweetWater Gummies to expand our innovative, flavor-forward craft category and for the new generation of craft drinkers who demand drinkability and high ABV. Drawing on our expertise in satisfying hop enthusiasts and casual drinkers, these remarkable offerings embody the essence of SweetWater,” said Ty Gilmore, President, U.S. Beer, at Tilray Brands. “You’ll find it hard to believe you’re indulging in a 9.5% ABV Double IPA. “Fruit forward, easy drinking IPA that packs a punch,” said Patrick Guerin, President, Lee Distributors.

SweetWater Gummies Fruit Punch IIPA tantalizes the taste buds with a delightful blend of sweet berry flavors accompanied by a touch of tartness, courtesy of real raspberry, cherry, blueberry, and tangerine. Its low bitterness, silky-smooth body, and captivating pink-red hue create an easy and pleasurable drinking experience.

SweetWater Gummies Tropical IIPA combines passionfruit, pineapple, and tangerine to create a tropical medley reminiscent of a refreshing piña colada and freshly squeezed orange juice. With no trace of bitterness and a velvety body, you might mistake this for a tropical cocktail.

SweetWater Brewing Brings Back Popular Triple Tail Tropical IPA

March 20, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

ATLANTA, Georgia – SweetWater Brewing Company, Atlanta’s craft beer trailblazer and 10th largest craft brewer in the U.S., announces the return of its popular Triple Tail Tropical India Pale Ale (IPA), which is now returning for a limited time as part of SweetWater’s spring seasonal lineup.

“Since last fall, we’ve re-introduced beers to our seasonal lineups that our customers have really missed, and Triple Tail IPA has been the most requested for us to bring back. With the weather warming up, we know craft drinkers will appreciate this super tasty tropical IPA, which is a fruity and refreshing blast that’s perfect for the beach, boat, music festivals, or any occasion when you need a cold beer to cool down.” says Nick Nock, SweetWater’s head brewer.

Loaded with triple dry hop additions of Mosaic, Denali and Waimea hops, Triple Tail (5.5% alcohol by volume) delivers a fruity hop burst of tangerine, papaya, and pineapple notes with a clean bitterness and fluffy, fragrant head.

Triple Tail is now flowing at SweetWater’s flagship taprooms in Atlanta and Fort Collins, Colorado. It’s also available in 12-ounce cans in Georgia, Tennessee, Minnesota, North Carolina and Pennsylvania at select retailers, including Kroger, Publix, Target, Total Wine & More and Trader Joes. Triple Tail IPA is available in both stand-alone six packs and SweetWater’s Seasonal IPA Variety Pack, which also includes SweetWater’s new Gone Trippin West Coast Style IPA, IPA and H.A.Z.Y. Double IPA.

SweetWater Brewing Introduces New West Coast Style IPA

March 15, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

ATLANTA, Georgia – SweetWater Brewing Company, Atlanta’s craft beer trailblazer and the 10th largest craft brewer in the U.S., announces the launch of Gone Trippin’, a West Coast Style India Pale Ale (IPA) that pays tribute to the bold, hoppy beers SweetWater brought to the South more than 25 years ago. Gone Trippin’ is now available nationally year-round on draft and in 6-packs and 12-packs of 12-ounce cans.

Gone Trippin’ (7% alcohol by volume (ABV)) is assertively hopped with Cascade, Centennial, Crystal, Chinook and Citra varieties. This array of quintessential West Coast hops delivers bitter notes accompanied by pine, citrus and floral aromas that are well balanced by a malty backbone and refreshingly dry finish.

“We crafted this beer as a celebration of the long trip that’s taken us from the West Coast to the Southeast and back again — with many stops in Colorado. We’ve Gone Fishin’ and Gone Phishin’ for years, and now we’re Gone Trippin’. We’re getting back to our roots and absolutely stoked to release this hoppy love letter to Cali, wrapped in a funky tie dyed can,” said Nick Nock, SweetWater’s head brewer. “Gone Trippin’ is a big, yet easy drinking beer that’s incredibly balanced. It’s perfectly bitter, it’s hoppy, but it’s also rounded out with a malty sweetness.”

Gone Trippin’ is now flowing at SweetWater’s flagship taprooms in Atlanta and Fort Collins, Colorado. It’s also available in cans across Colorado, Georgia, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia at select retailers, including Total Wine & More, Kroger, Harris Teeter, Ingles, Publix, and Lowes Food. Distribution will expand to additional states later this year.
