Full Sail Brewing’s Cool Like That Cold IPA – Beer of the Day

September 22, 2025 by Dustin Scoggins

Full Sail Brewing Releases Cool Like That Cold IPA

Full Sail Brewing’s Cold IPA, aptly named Cool Like That, captures the essence of a Pacific Northwest summer in every crisp sip. Brewed in the wind-swept town of Hood River, Oregon, this seasonal gem from the Strong Current IPA Series blends the clean, lager-like fermentation of a classic cold brew with the bold, hop-forward punch of an IPA. At 7% ABV and 47 IBUs, it’s deceptively sessionable—light and ultra-bright from a Pilsner malt base that lets the stars of the show shine: massive dry-hop additions of Mosaic and Eclipse hops bursting with tropical mango, juicy clementine, ripe stone fruit, and a whisper of coconut. Whether you’re cracking open a 16-oz can after a day on the Columbia River or pairing it with grilled seafood, this Cold IPA delivers refreshment without the haze, making it a go-to for hop lovers seeking something chill yet intensely flavorful.

What sets Full Sail’s Cold IPA apart in the crowded craft beer scene is its nod to innovation rooted in tradition. Since 1987, Full Sail has been a pioneer in sustainable brewing, drawing pure Mt. Hood spring water to craft beers that have snagged over 300 awards, including Beverage World’s Craft Brewer of the Year. Cool Like That embodies that legacy as a hybrid style—fermented cold for clarity and drinkability, then loaded with vibrant hops for that IPA edge—perfect for late-afternoon adventures or backyard hangs. Available seasonally in 4-packs or on draft through September, it’s a limited-run reminder that great beer, like the Gorge’s fleeting bluebird days, is best savored fresh. Grab one, raise a toast to the outdoors, and let the tropical vibes transport you straight to the bluff overlooking the mighty Columbia.

About Full Sail Brewing Company
Founded in 1987 in the heart of Hood River, Oregon, Full Sail Brewing Company emerged as a trailblazer in the craft beer movement, transforming a derelict Diamond Fruit cannery into a vibrant brewery with a vision for independence and quality. Originally known as Hood River Brewing Company, it became the first commercially successful craft brewery to bottle beer for retail sale in the Pacific Northwest, producing just 287 barrels in its inaugural year amid the rise of windsurfing culture in the region. Led by founders including Irene Firmat and later Brewmaster Jamie Emmerson, the company achieved early acclaim when its Amber Ale secured a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival in 1989. As an employee-owned enterprise committed to sustainability—through practices like local sourcing, water treatment, and community support—Full Sail has maintained its pioneering spirit, balancing innovation with environmental responsibility for nearly four decades.

Full Sail Brewing boasts a diverse and award-winning portfolio of beers that reflect its Pacific Northwest roots and dedication to craftsmanship. Flagship offerings include the Session Premium Lager, a smooth 5.1% ABV American-style lager with a crisp finish, and the classic Amber Ale, a balanced 6% ABV brew with malty notes that has become a perennial favorite. The lineup expands to hop-centric IPAs such as Hop Pursuit, Slipknot, and Bridge to Nowhere Hazy IPA, alongside seasonal specialties like Wassail, a robust 7.2% ABV winter ale, and Wreck the Halls, a hoppy holiday brew. Innovative releases, including Blood Orange Wheat Ale and pub exclusives like Accidental Art IPA and Heather Canyon Kölsch, showcase the brewery’s experimentation with flavors, all crafted using local hops, barley, and Mount Hood spring water to deliver fresh, high-quality experiences for beer

Houston, TX – In June Texas’ oldest craft brewery Saint Arnold Brewing released one of our favorite summer seasonals. And it’s out there now, but as we enter August, it won’t be forever, so you know what to do.

Brewed with fine German malt, and a copious quantity of “noble” hops imported from the Czech Republic, and ironically not even a Pilsner in the truest sense, Saint Arnold Summer Pils is a crisp and refreshing 4.9% ABV Munich-style Helles with a delicate, sweet malt taste complemented by an abundant hop aroma and flavor. It’s also the most award-winning beer they brew at Saint Arnold.

About Saint Arnold Brewing Company

Saint Arnold Brewing Company, located in Houston, is Texas’ Oldest Craft Brewery. Our goal is to brew world class beers and deliver them to our customers as fresh as possible making them the best beers in Texas and Louisiana. Our customers are beer lovers – people that appreciate great, full-flavored beers.

Our small crew does everything at the brewery: brew the beer, filter the beer, keg the beer, bottle the beer, sell the beer and drink the beer. For us, this is a passion, not a job. We believe that this comes through in the beers we make. Our beers have soul.

Genesee Brewery Introduces First Ever “Sum-all” Seasonal Beer: Black Cherry Vanilla Kellerbier!

August 1, 2024 by Dustin Scoggins

Genesee Brewery

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Genesee Brewery recently announced that it has invented a new season, a New Yorker’s perfect season, sum-all. Sum-all is the season between August and October where New Yorkers beg for sweater weather while savoring the last days of summer. And in true Genesee fashion, brewery officials announced the first official sum-all beer: Genesee Black Cherry Vanilla Kellerbier! Black Cherry Vanilla Kellerbier will be available later this week in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans and on draft at select locations.

It’s Officially Sum-all Starting August 1

Genesee is leaning into its tradition of releasing seasonal beers before you can even flip your calendar by crafting the new, official sum-all season.

“Sum-all is all about celebrating the best of both seasons and embracing the juxtaposition this time of year offers. Fall beer in August? Makes sense to Genesee! Flannel swim trunks? You got it. Maple hot dogs? Well, you decide… Genesee is all about giving the people what they want,” said Benning. “And while we don’t control the weather or the thermostat, Genesee can offer liquid relief, no matter the season!”

Durango breweries release new craft beer honoring 50 years of the Colorado Trail

July 12, 2024 by Dustin Scoggins

Durango Breweries Durango breweries celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Colorado Trail by brewing a specialty craft beer.

Ska, Steamworks Brewing, Anarchy, Carver, Animas and High Trestle brewing companies banded together to produce the Hit the Trail Pale Ale.

“We always like to support what we can with the Colorado Trail,” said Ska Marketing Director Kristen Muraro. “A lot of people finish hiking the trail and come by the breweries in town to have a beer and celebrate after they’ve completed the trail.”

The Colorado Trail was first conceived by the Roundup Riders of the Rockies in 1973. It was formally connected in 1988. Since then, it’s become one of Colorado’s popular attractions, as hikers will trek from Denver to Durango by foot (or bike) and vice versa.

This is the first time the breweries have collaborated on this scale since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the philanthropic arm of Durango’s brewing community, called the Bootlegger’s Society, the group felt it was an opportunity to help the Colorado Trail Foundation.

Twenty percent of all proceeds from each beer sale goes toward the Colorado Trail Foundation. The nonprofit organization employs four full-time employees, with the mission of educating people about the trail.

The beer will be sold on tap at all participating breweries for what will likely be two weeks, Muraro said. It will not be available for wholesale purchase.

She said specialty brews tend to do well in Durango.

“Most of our limited release beers are very popular,” she said. “ … People love trying something that they can’t have all the time.”

Carver Brewing Co. head brewer Patrick Jose said it’s been a success so far after its June 28 launch.

Jose said the brew was developed by a brewery in Salida, but participating breweries were able to choose how the beer was finished, giving each a slightly different flavor.

“Everybody uses different varietals for dry hopping,” he said.

He said it takes about six to seven hours to brew the beer and then about 2½ weeks for the yeast to ferment.

Carver Brewing Co. has historically participated in the Colorado Trail fun, offering a free beer to those who have successfully finished the trail.

“Last year, we gave over 600 pints away for free, so I think we got almost every single one of them as a result,” Jose said. “We’ve always had kind of a special relationship.”

The beer will likely be available for another two weeks and possibly through the end of the month, depending on its popularity.

“Steamworks has a couple more kegs,” he said. “But it could be two to three weeks there, and I know Anarchy has a little bit more than that.”

White Bay Brewery has announced a 3-year partnership with the Sydney Swans as “Official Beer of the Swans” for seasons 2024-2026.

The partnership is a key pillar of White Bay’s strategy to embed itself as a leading Sydney brewery and brand, and to extend our reach from the Inner West to all of Sydney, whilst linking our passionate customers to Sydney’s favourite sporting team. As an extension of this, White Bay Brewery has also partnered with Merivale to pour XPL & PILS at the SCG and Allianz Stadium.

In conjunction with announcing the Sydney Swans partnership, White Bay Brewery along with our equity partner & brand adviser Richards Rose is pleased to present a fresh new brand direction anchored by the iconic W logo. In launching the new W brand direction, we have made our Extra Pale Lager beer a permanent fixture in a stunning red and larger 375ml can.

White Bay’s owners have invested a further $1m into the business, to support the new growth of the brand.

“We are excited to bring our new brand and Sydney Swans partnership to life” said White Bay Brewery Co-Founder, Adam Trippe-Smith. “As a small brewery on the Balmain Peninsula, we decided recently it was time to elevate our beers to all of Sydney. As a 21-year Swans member, it was an obvious choice to partner with the Swans to achieve this. I am hoping it might also assist my right foot kick on the run from the 50m line.”

Sydney Swans CEO, Tom Harley, added: “The entire club is excited to welcome White Bay, one of Australia’s leading brewers, to the Swans family. White Bay and the Swans are both aligned in our goals of delivering a great experience to our audience.”

“I wish to add a massive thanks to the team at Richards Rose for this iconic brand direction and an additional high five to all our investors for supporting the latest capital raise” added Adam Trippe- Smith.
