Living The Dream Brewing To Relocate To Sterling Ranch And Highlands Ranch Locations

December 7, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

LITTLETON, Colorado— After nine years in its current location, Living The Dream Brewing is moving into two new locations in the area that will accommodate their expanding customer base and staff and build capacity for the Littleton craft brewery’s increasing beer production. The move will be complete by January 2024.

The Living The Dream Brewing brewery and taproom will be relocated to 9150 Commerce Center Cir #300 in Highlands Ranch in mid-January, shortly after Living The Dream begins taproom operations at its second location in The Sterling Center in Sterling Ranch at 8155 Piney River Ave, Littleton, CO 80125.

“Littleton and Highlands Ranch are home base for us, and it was critical for us that we stay in the area,” says Living The Dream Founder Jason Bell. “We’ve been searching for a new space for a while now, looking for more seating, parking, and overall accessibility. We want to make our customers more comfortable and create opportunities for our growing staff.”

Living The Dream’s new Highlands Ranch location is more accessible to foot traffic, with more indoor seating and brewing capacity than the brewery currently occupies.

Guests can sign up for the brewery newsletter for the most up-to-date information on its migration to Highlands Ranch and Sterling Ranch.

LONE TREE, Colorado— Get ready to raise the dead and your taste buds as Lone Tree Brewing celebrates 11 years of the legendary Hop Zombie Imperial Red IPA. The beer will creep into the tasting room for one day only on Saturday, October 28.

This year, Hop Zombie Imperial Red IPA is bigger and bolder than ever before. With a devilishly delicious blend of hops, this brew boasts a 9% ABV and a formidable 90 IBUs. Individual 12oz. cans, 6-packs, and cases of this limited edition IPA will be available for purchase.

Each year a line forms out the brewery door on Hop Zombie Day, and this year the brewery will reward the first ten people in line with a free limited edition Hop Zombie glass. For the rest of the undead souls in line, specialty glassware is available for purchase while supplies last. Guests can also look forward to this zombie apocalypse with themed decorations, eats from Rustic Nomads, and custom 2023 Hop Zombie t-shirts.

Hop Zombie has made phantom appearances on an annual basis since 2012. It was the silver medal winner at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival, and it is undoubtedly the most anticipated beer release of the year at Lone Tree Brewing. Don’t blink and miss it!

Avery Brewing Announces New Gose con Sandia Sour Ale

April 19, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

BOULDER, Colorado— Avery Brewing, part of Mahou USA, is excited to announce its latest addition to the brewery’s year-round sour ale El Gose, Gose con Sandía. The balanced sea salt and lime combined with juicy watermelon is the perfect twist on a fan-favorite.

The original session sour ale, El Gose, is brought to an entirely new dimension with the creation of Gose con Sandía because of its subtly sweet, slightly tart taste. Gose con Sandía is a play on a Mexican cocktail known for combining lime and salt, which is where the Spanish name comes in, Avery Brewing Company Brewing Manager Josh Rapp said, adding that translation is “Gose with Watermelon.”

“The Gose is a time-honored German beer style with a rich history,” Rapp said. “The traditional Gose has a hint of salinity from the salty Gose River and tartness from spontaneous fermentation. We wanted to pay homage to the Gose tradition by adding sea salt and lime to impart that salinity and tartness, and then added all-natural watermelon to the mix, giving this brew its signature refreshing taste.”

Gose con Sandía was first introduced in Avery Brewing’s taproom last year as a pilot brew said, Avery Brewing Company General Manager Jesse Gershamn.

“We had been experimenting with fruit adjuncts to add to El Gose, and had taproom trials with four different flavors: watermelon, blackberry, yuzu, and mango,” Gershman said. “Within a week of adding ‘Watermelon Gose’ on draft, it was ranking among the highest selling beers in our taproom, and it was clear this flavor was a new fan-favorite.”

Avery Brewing is excited to officially announce that Gose con Sandía has been added to the year-round lineup, and is available on draft now in our taproom. Gose con Sandía will also be available nationwide and in our ‘Avery’s Gear Shop,’ which features to-go coolers in six-packs of 12-ounce cans.

Ska Brewing Is First North American Brewery To Implement CanCollar Corsair For Plastics Replacement In Its Packaging

April 13, 2023 by Spencer Mapes

DURANGO, Colorado— Ska Brewing has completed the installation of a CanCollar Corsair provided by WestRock. Ska is the first craft brewery in North America to implement this automation solution, which will enable the company’s transition from plastic rings to a fiber-based solution for its multipack product wraps.

Ska has never been keen on plastic packaging, but recently identified an alternative that supports its sustainability goals.

Enter WestRock, a global paper and packaging leader dedicated to sustainability whose portfolio includes solutions for craft and artisanal beverage producers. The company’s CanCollar Corsair machine automatically applies various CanCollar paperboard-based multipack formats to 24-pack trays of product, which gives Ska the ability to package all of its canned brand offerings — including four-packs and six-packs — using a solution that reduces plastics consumption by up to 95 percent when compared to alternative plastic multipack options.

“The CanCollar, which promotes circularity, will immediately reduce the amount of plastic Ska contributes to the environment by approximately four tons per year,” says Ska Brewing COO Steve Breezley. “This contributes to a reduction in overall waste and the carbon footprint associated with the shipping and storage of our products. The innovation, ethos and ethics behind this solution are what we’re all about.”

The installation of the CanCollar Corsair is one of Ska’s ongoing, never-finished efforts to build a more sustainable future,” says Co-Founder and CEO Dave Thibodeau. “We saw the opportunity to implement this fiber-based CanCollar and we’re jumping on it. We hope it will become the industry standard moving forward.”

From the choice of aluminum cans over bottles and the recycling of bowling alley lanes and old denim in the tasting room design, to the reduction of water consumption in the brewhouse and so many other initiatives to reduce waste, Ska Brewing has been a thought leader paving the way for environmental innovation over the course of its nearly 28 years in business. The brewery would love to share these strategies with anyone who asks.

Beer lovers can look for all of Ska’s canned brand offerings to sport recyclable fiber collars applied by the CanCollar Corsair on shelves starting in April.
