MadTree Brewing Celebrates PsycHOPathy, Their Classic IPA, with a Bold New Can Design and Psych Night Event on September 20th!

September 19, 2024 by Spencer Mapes

CINCINNATI, Ohio – MadTree Brewing’s original IPA, PsycHOPathy, is getting a makeover that’s as bold as its flavor. As the first canned craft beer in Ohio and a cornerstone of Cincinnati’s craft beer scene for over a decade, PsycHOPathy now boasts a newly designed, eye-catching can.

This redesign is part of a larger rebranding effort that includes updates to most of MadTree’s beloved brews. Happy Amber, another local favorite, and Skygazer, a new citrus wheat recently launched in regional stores, are also sporting fresh looks. The new designs reflect MadTree’s passion for the outdoors, incorporating nature-inspired elements and, of course, trees.

“It was time for a refresh,” said Kricket Murnahan, Creative Director at MadTree. “Our consumers spoke and we listened. After testing new can designs with hundreds of consumers, this design emerged as the clear favorite. The new can is bolder, more legible, and proudly highlights our Cincinnati roots. It features a captivating illustration that celebrates the hop-forward character PsycHOPathy is renowned for.”

To commemorate the rebrand, MadTree is hosting Psych Night on Friday, September 20th, from 6:00 PM to Midnight. For one night only, the brewery is reviving its popular behind-the-scenes tours and transforming the taproom with a green theme in honor of PsycHOPathy. The event will feature:

Live music from the Almond Butter Band (Cincy’s premier Allman Brothers tribute band) from 8:00pm-11:00pm
Interactive Hop Art Installations from Six Bomb Boards from 6:00pm-8:00pm
Brewery tours that include a limited edition glass. You can sign up at the brewery or book in advance here
Specialty beer tastings
Merch giveaways
Brady Duncan, MadTree Founder, expressed his excitement: “We’re thrilled with PsycHOPathy’s evolution, its new design, and its enduring status as a local favorite and Cincinnati staple. Psych Night promises to be an extraordinary event, featuring fantastic music, exclusive tours, and unique tastings. We can’t wait to share this experience with our community.”
