Bear Republic Brewing Company Releases Racer X and Hop Rod Rye Seasonals

July 13, 2018 by Dow Scoggins

CLOVERDALE, California — Available this month, Bear Republic’s summer seasonal offerings, Racer X and Hop Rod Rye, are returning to shelves now through September 2018.

Previously available as a fall and winter time seasonal, Racer X is one of Bear Republic’s most anticipated releases each year, desired by many throughout the country.

Racer X will be available on tap at Bear Republic’s brewpub locations in Healdsburg and Rohnert Park, California, beginning Saturday, July 7th.

Hop Rod Rye, the first American Rye India Pale Ale to be produced, continues to be on tap daily.

Racer X Beer Stats:
ABV: 8.3%
IBUs: 100+
Color: Copper
Double IPA
Featured Hops: Cascade, Centennial, and Columbus
Malts: American and English Pale Ale, American Crystal, Wheat, and Flaked Rice
Yeast: BRBC Ale Yeast

Ratings and Awards:
Beer Advocate: 4.22 out of 5
Four-time award winner at the California State Fair.

Overall: Racer X is an uncommon Double India Pale Ale which puts a California twist on English brewing traditions by adding an assertive hop aroma and bitterness that compliments the firm malt backbone. Like its little brother Racer 5, Racer X is balance in a bottle. For more information about the beer, visit www.bearrepublic.com/beer/racer-x.

Hop Rod Rye Beer Stats:
ABV: 8.0%
IBUs: 80
Color: Amber
Style: Rye IPA
Featured Hops: Cascade, Centennial, and Columbus
Malts: American Pale, Rye, Munich, and Crystal
Yeast: BRBC Ale Yeast

Ratings and Awards:
Beer Advocate: 4.22 out of 5
Ten-time award winner at the California State Fair.

Overall: This high gravity IPA is brewed with 18% rye malt. A high performance, turbo charged, alcohol burnin’ monster ale with dual overhead hop injection with a good dose of rye and caramel malts ensure a sturdy chassis to carry all that flavor. The rye malt adds a spicy character that takes this beer to the winner’s circle! For more information about the beer, visit www.bearrepublic.com/beer/hop-rod-rye.
