SAN DIEGO – Keeping with tradition, Coronado Brewing is celebrating 22 years of award-winning beers by brewing a celebratory double IPA. A big occasion calls for a big beer, so every summer, the company releases a hopped-up imperial IPA to celebrate its anniversary. This year’s beer is set to debut at Coronado’s 22nd Anniversary Party on July 28, before hitting Coronado’s distribution network in six-pack cans, 22oz bottles and on draft.
The medium-bodied ale is highly aromatic, lightly bitter and clocks in at 8.5% ABV. “It’s no secret that San Diego is crazy for IPAs,” says Mark Theisen, Head Brewer, Coronado Brewing Company. “Our goal for this beer was to brew an aroma-driven IPA that can stand proudly with all the other great IPAs in this city. We’re stoked with the way this beer turned out and are excited for people to get their hands on it.”
In addition to the commemorative beer, Coronado Brewing is hosting an anniversary party at its Bay Park Tasting Room on Saturday, July 28. Tickets are $10 and include admission into the event, beer ticket, and one raffle ticket for Coronado swag and other prizes. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting the local San Diego chapter of the Surfrider Foundation. The event will feature 25+ beers on tap, local music by The Sidekicks and DJ Mike Czech, and a photo booth. Several gourmet food trucks will also be on site selling food.
