Full Sail Releases New Seasonal IPA, Seeing Double

April 26, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Full Sail BrewingHOOD RIVER, Oregon – Spring has sprung in Oregon and so has a new seasonal brew in Full Sail Brewing Company’s Strong Current IPA Series. Believing is Seeing Double IPA is a refreshing West Coast Style IPA that is so good, you’ll have to taste it to believe it.

The beer was developed by Brewmaster Greg Doss and the brew crew on Full Sail’s small batch pilot brew system to tap in their Pub. “The beer was so unbelievably tasty we just had to share it with our beer friends and fans in 16 oz cans,” said Brewmaster Greg Doss.  “Expect big tropical fruit, spicy mango, and tangerine aromas that explode your senses (in a good way),” added Doss.  Pale malt combined with oats were used to create a deep golden base to showcase huge Azacca and Citra hop additions. Believing is Seeing is high on hop aromatics yet perfectly balanced and goes down so smooth well, it’s hard to imagine, you will just have to taste it yourself.

Our Strong Current Series celebrates our sense of place where we’re constantly inspired by the great outdoors and the environment that provide amazing recreation and one of our most treasured natural resources, the pure water that flows from the springs on Mt. Hood to our brewery and beyond.  Available April to June in 4-packs of 16 oz cans and limited draft. ABV 8.5%, 55 IBUs.

Ardagh Glass Packaging Partners with Kansas City Bier Company

April 26, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Ardagh GlassINDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Ardagh Glass Packaging – North America (AGP – North America), a business of Ardagh Group, has partnered with Kansas City Bier Company to supply all the brewery’s glass beer bottles.

The partnership connects Kansas City Bier Company with AGP – North America’s Pevely, Mo., glass manufacturing facility, helping to keep the brewery’s promise to source local products and incorporate sustainable practices into its operations.

Kansas City Bier exclusively packages its beer in 100 percent and endlessly recyclable glass bottles, all manufactured in the U.S., by AGP – North America.

“It is important to us to reduce our impact on the environment where possible,” said Katie Camlin, Digital and Social Media Coordinator at Kansas City Bier Company. “Glass bottles are both reusable and recyclable, and working with Ardagh, a domestic manufacturer, reduces shipping distances greatly.”

In 2021, Kansas City Bier filled more than 2.6 million glass beer bottles, supplying fresh, local, German-style lagers and ales throughout Missouri and Kansas.

“Ardagh Glass Packaging enjoys partnering with craft brewers like Kansas City Bier that have a passion for glass bottles and sustainable practices,” said Clint Gawart, Vice President, Beer & Beverage for AGP – North America. “We’ve supplied the brewery for the past four years and are elated they continue to package all of their products in 12oz glass bottles designed and manufactured by Ardagh.”

Equally important as packaging the brewery’s beer in sustainable glass bottles is the ability to endlessly recycle those bottles, turning them into new bottles.

Through the brewery’s partnership with Ripple Glass, a glass recycling provider for the Kansas City area and mid-America region, the glass bottles are recycled into new bottles without any loss in quality or purity.

Last year, Kansas City Bier diverted 25,515 pounds, or 12.75 tons, from the landfill by recycling glass bottles in the famous purple bins provided by Ripple Glass.

Recycling plays a key role in both AGP – North America’s and Kansas City Bier’s sustainability initiatives. Recycling glass containers not only keeps glass out of the landfills while giving it the new life it deserves, but it has significant environmental benefits by saving raw materials, lessening demand for energy and cutting CO2 emissions. Glass recycling is a great way to close the loop, protect the environment and support area businesses.

Throughout 2022, Ardagh Glass Packaging will celebrate the United Nations International Year of Glass (IYOG), commemorating the essential role of glass packaging in a sustainable society.

In this IYOG, AGP – North America is focused on celebrating customers like Kansas City Bier and its use of sustainable, recyclable glass beer bottles, to celebrate the important role of glass packaging in today’s world.

About Ardagh Group

Ardagh Group is a global supplier of infinitely recyclable metal and glass packaging for the world’s leading brands. Ardagh operates 58 metal and glass production facilities in 12 countries, employing more than 17,000 people with sales of approximately $7.6 bn.

About Kansas City Bier

At Kansas City Bier, brewing authentic German-style bier is more than following a recipe, it’s about using traditional ingredients and methods. It’s our mission to provide the same flavor and freshness you would experience drinking a German bier in a Munich Biergarten. That’s why our motto, “We put the i back in Bier,” expresses our commitment to reintroducing fresh, local, German-style lagers and ales to Kansas City

Paulaner Announces New Eco-Friendly Packaging

April 25, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Paulaner WHITE PLAINS, New York – As a strict follower of the Reinheitsgebot, the German Beer Purity Law, sustainability has been a hallmark of the Paulaner Munich brewers for centuries. Paulaner Brauerei and its U.S. based importer Paulaner USA are reinforcing this commitment by announcing their shift to the use of sustainable packaging materials. Effective immediately, all Paulaner 4-pack cans will convert to eco-friendly cardboard, as opposed to plastic wraps. This is part of the company’s greater commitment towards sustainability, which plans to phase out all plastic packaging within the year.

“Traditional beer packaging has contributed to needless excess waste, damaging our environment, and devastating our oceans,” says Steve Hauser, CEO and president of Paulaner USA. “As a company dedicated to using only quality ingredients in our brewing process, it was important for us to extend this impeccable standard in every facet of the company, and that includes everything, including our packaging.”

The transition to cleaner, sustainable packaging goes hand in hand with Paulaner USA’s commitment to the reduction in single-use plastic. Hauser adds, “By reducing plastic wraps and replacing it with eco-friendly cardboard, we are contributing to the betterment of the environment and will continue to learn and explore new ways in which we can help, not hinder, our eco-system.”

In addition to being more sustainable, the new can packaging will also feature bold new images and graphics on moisture resistant cardboard stock. Consumers will begin to see the new packaging designs beginning this Spring for Paulaner Hefe-Weizen, Paulaner Münchner Lager, Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier, Paulaner Pils, Paulaner Grapefruit Radler, Hacker-Pschorr Weissbier, and Hacker-Pschorr Munich Gold.

New Realm Brewing Introduces Restricted Area Double IPA

April 25, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

New Realm BrewingATLANTA, Georgia – New Realm Brewing is set to release an exciting new addition to their 2022 Monsters & Myths Series. The inspiration for this Double IPA series comes from the Monsters & Myths which captivate our imagination with legendary lore. New Realm introduced Monsters & Myths to captivate hop-loving beer fans and bring them along for a journey into extraordinary new realms, while paying homage to some of the world’s most famous (and infamous) mythical legends.

For the second release of their 2022 Monsters & Myths Series, New Realm is unleashing the secrets of Area 51 with an all-new otherworldly West Coast-style Double IPA. Restricted Area is brewed with a paranormal amount of Citra and Mosaic hops for a hop-forward beer that is ripe with citrus, berry, and stone fruit aromatics. With one sip of this extraterrestrial DIPA, you’ll feel yourself transfer to another dimension.

“Restricted Area is a classic West Coast-style DIPA, exclusively brewed with two popular hop varieties, Citra and Mosaic. We had never brewed a beer that exclusively used these two hops, until a recent pilot brew. It was so well received in our taproom, that we knew we needed to use this blend in Restricted Area DIPA. Besides being dry-hopped at 3 lbs. per barrel, we also used a blend of American, English and German malts to this DIPA, to give Restricted Area even more complexity and depth.” Shared Mitch Steele, Co-Founder and Brewmaster of New Realm Brewing.

“Our Monsters & Myths DIPA series is a favorite among beer fans every year, and we can’t wait for Restricted Area to make its debut as our newest addition to the lineup,” said Bob Powers, Co-Founder and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of New Realm Brewing. “We joke that Restricted Area is a ‘Martian-Style’ DIPA, but really, it’s just out of this world! We cannot wait to see what our hop-loving beer fans think of this new release.”

This West Coast-style DIPA is now available on draft and in brand-new 12oz 6 pack cans in New Realm’s brewery to-go coolers, as well as your favorite retailers around Georgia, Virginia, and Lowcountry South Carolina. Allagash Releases Two New Limited Summer Seasonals

April 24, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

AllagashPORTLAND, Maine – Summer is just a sip away as award-winning Allagash Brewing Company announced the launch of two new limited seasonal beers to its portfolio: Seconds to Summer, a crisp and hoppy lager, and Floating Holiday, a dry and balanced blonde ale with lemon peel and sea salt. The duo of beers will be heading widely across the Allagash 19-state plus D.C. distribution footprint starting in May*.

Brewed with traditional hops from the Czech Republic and fermented with Belgian yeast, Seconds to Summer boasts a refreshingly hoppy flavor that you’ll be sipping all summer long. Floating Holiday is bright and crisp blonde ale brewed with lemon peel and a pinch of sea salt. Both beers stemmed from the brewery’s pilot innovation system.

“Seconds to Summer was one of our most popular pilot beers in recent memory.”said Jason Perkins, Brewmaster at Allagash. “Our team unanimously loved this easy-drinking lager, and are really excited to be able to enjoy it during the summer.”

“The pilot beer idea for Floating Holiday was to make a blonde ale with lemon peel and sea salt that was ‘crushable, crisp, and bright.’ And we definitely found that those ingredient additions of lemon and sea salt took an already dry and balanced style of beer and made it that much more refreshing,” said Perkins. “It’s the perfect beer to kick off the vacation mindset.”

You can learn more about the Allagash Brewing Company pilot system—where any employee can suggest a new beer idea.

Seconds to Summer (4.5% ABV) is a limited release available in 12-packs of 12 ounce cans, shipping out to Allagash’s full distribution right now; Floating Holiday (5.2% ABV) is available in 16 ounce cans and on draft, and will begin shipping in mid May.

*Seconds to Summer will be available in: CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, Chicagoland, MA, MD, ME, NC, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, SC, VA, WI and VT

Empyrean Brewing Co. Releases 2022 Zookeeper Beer in Can

April 24, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

ZookeeperLINCOLN, Nebraska – Empyrean Brewing Co.’s seasonal “Zookeeper” beer not only has a new taste, but a new package too. Zookeeper Lemon Kolsch is the brewery’s first beer to ever be released in cans in its 32-year history. The Kolsch-style ale packs refreshing flavor with real lemon puree in a cool, sleek can.

Zookeeper Lemon Kolsch is brewed in support of the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, a partnership that began in 2018. The beer’s art highlights the zoo’s giraffes, coinciding with the birth of two new baby giraffes earlier this year. The limited-edition brew is set to be available from now until mid-summer wherever Empyrean Brewing Co. is sold.

Just like previous years, Super Saver and Russ’s Market are generously donating $1 for every Zookeeper Lemon Kolsch six-pack sold. The support will help the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, which is home to 400 animals and requires roughly $13,000 a day to operate.

Jim Engelbart, operations manager at Empyrean Brewing Co. said, “We think our community’s many Zoo and beer supporters will all enjoy the bright summer flavors of this year’s Zookeeper Lemon Kolsch. We are also super excited for this to be our first beer in cans! Cans can go all the places we like to play, especially in the summer months… not to mention they are more recyclable than glass!”

Empyrean Brewing Co. has expanded into eight states since its founding in 1990. The company derives its name from the adventurous spirit of ancient civilizations and uses that philosophy to guide its new offerings. Empyrean currently offers nine core beers available year-round, a line of seasonal beers and a host of specialty and limited release-beers.

As home to over 400 animals—40 of which are endangered, the Lincoln Children’s Zoo serves as a place for Nebraska’s youth to learn about animals and the importance of their conservation. Donations are always appreciated to support its ongoing education, conservation and animal care programs.

Lindemans Celebrates 200th Anniversary with Limited Edition Lambic

April 23, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Lindenmanns VLEZENBEEK, Belgium – Lindemans, one of the oldest Belgian lambic beer brewers in the world, is celebrating its bicentennial with a limited edition lambic, Cuvée Francisca. Founded in 1822 by Francisca Josina Vandersmissen and Joos Frans Lindemans, the brewery produces one of the world’s oldest beer styles with the greatest care and immense passion.

To celebrate the brewery’s rich 200-year heritage, Lindemans is releasing an exclusive anniversary beer: Cuvée Francisca. Inspired by and named after Lindemans first lady, Francisca Josina Vandersmissen, it is a unique blend of a four-year-old lambic from the oak casks T1001 (20%), T1006 (35%), T1017 (35%) and 10% young lambic from foeder (oak cask) T1014; it’s dry yet complex, making it a nicely balanced old gueuze for beer enthusiasts as well as those new to the style. First fermented in wooden casks and then refermented in a bottle for 12 months, it carries a distinct taste of oak, citrus and notes of vanilla with a sherry aroma. The jubilee blend has a refreshingly sour yet crisp finish, and pours a golden blonde color.

Francisca Josina Vandersmissen was born in Hof ter Kwadewegen in Belgium’s Pajottenland a region known for its noble beer lineage, as it is the only location in the world where authentic lambic can be brewed. Soon after Francisca married Joos Frans Lindemans in 1822, they moved into the Vandermissen farm brewery and thus Lindeman’s Brewery was born. Two hundred years and six generations later, Lindemans Brewery is still owned by the founding family and is now led by cousins and co-owners, Dirk and Geert Lindemans, and continues to operate in its same founding region.

“It’s an honour to carry on my family’s liquid heritage as the sixth generation of Lindemans brewers.” said Dirk Lindemans, co-owner and managing director of Lindemans Brewery. “What started out as a small family business has grown into an international renowned lambic brewery bringing new flavor profiles and experiences to fans all over the world. We wouldn’t be where we are today without Francisca Josina Vandersmissen and Joos Frans Lindemans, and we’re thrilled to be celebrating our 200th anniversary with a namesake beer in her honor.” added Geert Lindemans co-owner and managing director.

A limited release of only 25,000 bottles worldwide, Cuvée Francisca is available for purchase in 750 ml bottles in shops across the country. This batch is available as a limited release only.

About Lindemans Brewery

Since 1822, the Lindemans family has been brewing lambic in Vlezenbeek in the heart of Pajottenland, Belgium. Lindemans Brewery is the largest, independent, family lambic brewery. Due to the sharp increase in sales abroad, the company has become an established name in the international beer world. In 2021 Lindemans produced more than 113,000 hectolitres and currently has 70 employees. Lindemans is imported to the US by Merchant du Vin.
