May 8, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Neshaminy CreekCROYDON, Pennsylvania – Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company (Neshaminy Creek) announces their partnership with The Mahoning Drive-In Theater in Lehighton, PA. The long-awaited collaboration brought Showtime at Sundown, a classic retro American lager, to life. This throwback beer has a malty body, a hint of sweetness, and a dry finish, making it a light and easy drink. Sitting at a crushable 4.2% ABV, Neshaminy Creek created a beer that is best enjoyed during a long haul double (or even triple) feature.

Showtime at Sundown will only be available exclusively at The Mahoning Drive-In Theater and all three Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company taproom locations – Croydon, New Hope, and Dublin on tap for $5.50, 6-packs for $12.50, and cases for $41.50, starting May 21st.

To celebrate the release of Showtime at Sundown, Neshaminy Creek will be onsite at The Mahoning Drive-In Theater on May 21st for Night Two of their “It’s a MAD MAD MAD MAX Weekend” featuring Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and Fury Road on their colossal CinemaScope screen. The Neshaminy Creek Brewing team will be selling merch and beer-to-go so viewers can bring a taste of the drive-in home with them. Tickets and more information for this event are available on the Mahoning Website.

“When creating Showtime at Sundown, we had so much fun with the Mahoning crew coming together to make this beer a reality after talking about the possibilities of a collab for years. It’s a classic American lager that really does epitomize the nostalgia of the drive-in and our history of brewing lagers,” says Director of Sales and Marketing, Kyle Park. “I’ve been going to Mahoning for quite some time, so having this opportunity to create such a unique partnership has been special from start to finish.”

“From the day we met the team on the lot, we knew how likeminded our worlds were,” says Virgil Cardamone, Co-Owner of The Mahoning Drive-In. “Steeped in influence and soaked in nostalgia – that’s why this partnership is a match made in cinematic heaven! Delivering an easy-drinking brew for those summer nights under the stars is a dream come true for us made possible by our friends at Neshaminy Creek, a brand we have so much love for. Adding Showtime at Sundown to their incredible lineup is a true honor to our family!”

May 7, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Sycamore BrewingCHARLOTTE, North Carolina – Award-winning craft brewery Sycamore Brewing announces its newest beer, Brazilian Lemonade (5.6% ABV). The gose-style ale packed with citrus flavor is available today on-draft and in cans at the Charlotte-based taproom.

“We’re really letting the good “limes” roll with this sweet and zippy gose,” says Sycamore Brewing’s co-owner, Sarah Taylor Brigham. “It’s modeled after an actual non-alcoholic beverage that we love called Brazilian Lemonade, which ironically contains no lemons – just limes.”

It is crafted very simply by blending the main ingredient of fresh lime juice with condensed milk for a tart, lime-forward flavor that’s also sweet and creamy. The instantly refreshing beer will be available in four-packs at stores throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and Ohio in the coming weeks, so it can be enjoyed all summer long.

Reuben’s Brews’ Summer Festivals Return for 10th Anniversary

May 7, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Reuben's Brews'SEATTLE, Washington – At Reuben’s Brews, 2022 started off with a big announcement: The brewery would release 10 collaboration beers to celebrate 10 years of business, community, and glass backwards brewing. Now Reuben’s is about to launch the fifth beer in the series, and plans to make the most of summer with a full calendar of events. Like many businesses, Reuben’s dialed back its events over the last two years, canceling some and going virtual with others. So founders Grace and Adam Robbings are excited to bring their festivals back again.

“Festivals are a fun way for us beer lovers to explore beer and learn more about what we enjoy,” says Grace. “We love putting these festivals on at Reuben’s Brews because it’s core to our DNA to brew a wide variety of beers, and we love helping people find their next adventure on their beer journey.”

Beginning in May, each month will feature a different signature event leading up to a big anniversary block party in early August. Following on the heels of the popular Coffee Beer & Donuts and Baby Goats & Brews, Haze Fest will kick off summer with an abundance of deliciously juicy and tropical beers. Then it’s Lager Fest in June, the return of Reuben’s & Friends Invitational in July, and a 10th Anniversary bash in August.

“We want to take this opportunity to thank our community who have been supporting us throughout this journey,” says Adam. “Our anniversary party is our chance to express gratitude to those who have been with us each step of the way—the customers who made everything possible, our friends in the industry whose support was invaluable, our suppliers whose awesome ingredients make our beers, and the neighborhood of Ballard who put their arms around us when we opened.”

May 14: Haze Fest

After going virtual during the pandemic, Reuben’s is bringing Haze Fest back to the Taproom. Expect some of your favorite hazy IPAs and several new beers along with half a dozen creative infusions like an IPA inspired by tiki cocktails, and four different guest taps.

June 25: Lager Fest

As the days get warmer, palates start to crave lighter, crisper styles of beer, and that means lager. So this year Reuben’s decided to have some fun with cold fermentation and throw an all-day party for Pilsner, Helles, Svetlé Pivo, and the wonderful world of lager.

July 16: Reuben’s & Friends Invitational

Reuben’s is bringing back its invitational festival this summer and plans to have more than 15 breweries in attendance pouring a wide range of ales and lager that Seattle beer fans might not otherwise have access to. Stay tuned for more information, including the taplist!

August 6: Anniversary Block Party

This is the big one! Reuben’s will be closing down the block to celebrate 10 years of brewing. They’ll also be pouring the final two beers in their 10th Anniversary Series, a collaboration with the Reuben’s Crew mug club and a barrel-aged blend created by its employees.

About Reuben’s Brews

Adam and Grace Robbings opened Reuben’s Brews in 2012, after an award-winning homebrewing career, naming it after their first child, Reuben. At their employee-owned family brewery they brew from the glass backwards: designing each beer with intention, unbound by constraints. They know that making that extra effort is worth it. From everyday favorites to innovative new releases, they help grow your love of beer. Reuben’s Brews. Beer Unbound.

The Reuben’s Brews Taproom (5010 14th Ave. NW in Ballard) is open daily 11am – 10pm, featuring an expanded outdoor seating area and To-Go Store. They strictly adhere to all current state and local health precautions to keep their customers and team safe.

Pigeon Hill Brings ‘Socibowl’ to Downtown Muskegon

May 3, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Pigeon HillMUSKEGON, Michigan – Pigeon Hill Brewing Company, a Muskegon-based craft brewery, is excited to formally announce its newest venture: Socibowl (pronounced “sociable”).  Combining a restaurant, indoor beer garden, and entertainment, Socibowl will bring bowling – and Pigeon Hill – back to Western Avenue in Downtown Muskegon.  This eclectic fusion of social activities, slated for a Fall 2022 opening, will be located in the heart of Muskegon at 441 W. Western Ave and provide a perfect counterpoint to “The Brewer’s Lounge” inside Pigeon Hill’s 4th Street production facility.

Located in Pigeon Hill’s former production facility – which housed a bowling alley from the 1930s through the 1990s – this new venture began to take shape in late 2019, after Pigeon Hill moved its production to 895 4th Street.  Finding themselves with a carte blanche to enhance the flurry of activity along Western Avenue, Pigeon Hill’s owners – all downtown Muskegon residents – asked themselves “What do we feel like we are missing in downtown?”  Independently, they all arrived at the same answer: “We want more things to do with friends.” That idea, a belief in creating a social hub where families and groups of adults alike could find an evening of fun and relaxation, drove them to develop the concept behind Socibowl.

Socibowl, as the name implies, will be a space infused with social activities and bowling.  Far from a typical bowling alley, the atmosphere will be casually upbeat with twists of mid-century modern charm.  Bringing duckpin bowling, darts, pinball, and oversized yard games under the same roof ensures activities for all guests.  The addition of a full kitchen, draft cocktails, wine, and craft beer from Pigeon Hill means that guests will never go hungry or thirsty while enjoying an evening with friends.  Combined, the various offerings of Socibowl will create a new type of community gathering space, filled with fun, friends, and everything needed for an enjoyable evening in Downtown Muskegon.  As Joel Kamp, Co-Founder and CEO of Pigeon Hill recently noted: “We all live downtown now and are committed more than ever to contribute towards elevating the entertainment options in Downtown Muskegon’s central core for our community and visitors to enjoy.”

“This is the natural next step for us,” said Michael Brower, Co-Founder and Director of Sales and Marketing at Pigeon Hill.  “From day one, we’ve focused on creating spaces – steeped in history and community – for everyone to gather.  Now, we’re taking that to the next level, with a venue that embraces an era of Downtown Muskegon’s heyday and offers a social gathering space unlike anything on the Lakeshore.  Our partner Chad always says ‘lets do life, together,’ and that captures the essence of what we’ve dreamed up for our hometown.  Whether our patrons have set out for a night with friends – or a night to meet their new best friends – at Socibowl, it’s all about living life, together.”

ABOUT PIGEON HILL BREWING COMPANY

Pigeon Hill Brewing Co is a premier craft brewery out of Muskegon, MI with distribution throughout Michigan and Florida.  Founded in 2014 by Joel Kamp, Chad Doane, and Michael Brower with what little money their wives would let them take out of joint bank accounts, Pigeon Hill has organically grown to a multi-facility operation centered around a 20-barrel brewhouse.  Thanks to style-bending beers such as Oatmeal Crème Pie, Salted Caramel Porter, Renny DIPA, and Donut Stop Believin’, Pigeon Hill’s reputation for crafting excellent beer continues to drive both accolades and industry-exceeding growth.

Stone Brewing’s Fan-Voted Beer Now Available Nationwide

May 3, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Stone BrewingESCONDIDO, California – Stone Brewing announces the re-release of a fan-favorite beer known for its gigantic hop flavor, Stone RuinTen Triple IPA. This beer was the #1 voted choice in Stone’s 2022 Fan Favorites Series of six special releases. It has been rebrewed and is now available nationwide for a limited time.

To understand the full ruinous qualities of Stone RuinTen Triple IPA, let’s revisit an even older fan favorite, Stone Ruination IPA. In 2002, Stone Ruination IPA became the first full time brewed and bottled West Coast style Double IPA on the planet. In effect, it quickly became the most widely available example of the style. At the time, it was an attack on the palate, quite literally off the bitterness charts. So naturally, Stone celebrated Stone Ruination IPA’s 10th anniversary with even more hops. Stone’s brewers raised the ABV to 10.8% and upped the bitterness with reckless abandon.

The combination of Centennial and Citra hops make for an abundance of tropical fruity flavors right up front. A pleasant maltiness balances the hops and the experience finishes with that long, lingering, gloriously ruinous finish that defines the West Coast IPA style.

“In Stone’s early days, we’d brew our hoppiest beer yet to celebrate each anniversary, which led to Stone Ruination IPA,” explained Jeremy Moynier, Stone Brewing Senior Manager of Brewing & Supply Chain and 18-year veteran of the brewery. “That shot to another stratosphere with Stone RuinTen. I absolutely love the extreme dankness, pine and resin that assaults you up front. It finishes with intense fruit, hints of malt, sweetness and has just a touch of warming, reminding you that this is a big beer.  Every sip transports me to hop harvest where intense hop aromas hit you wherever you go!”

Stone RuinTen Triple IPA is the third release in Stone’s 2022 Fan Favorites Series. The series is a lineup of limited release throwback beers voted on by loyal fans of the brewery’s prolific 25-year history. It is now available nationwide in 12oz six-pack cans, 22oz bottles and draft.

Monday Night Brewing Collaborates With Hip Hop Heads Brewery On Newest Release

May 3, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

Monday Night BrewingATLANTA, Georgia – Launching in our Atlanta taprooms on April 29, Maibock Music is a collaboration beer between Monday Night Brewing and Hip Hop Heads, a brewery-in-planning. It is the product of a rip in the multiverse: the rare collision of parallel lines. Both Monday Night Brewing and Hip Hop Heads Brewery respectively started as just a group of three guys in Atlanta hanging out, brewing beer in their driveways, and spitballing: “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if we made this homebrewing hobby into a business?”

While Monday Night found its early musical (and somewhat ironic) inspiration in Bryan Adams, Hip Hop Heads were aptly drawn to hip hop–creating experiential playlists to accompany each brew they make.

Fusing their love of beer, music, and Atlanta culture, the breweries joined forces and conceived of Maibock Music, a Maibock that faithfully adheres to German brewing tradition. A bready malt aroma emanates from a classic mash bill and is complemented by the nuances of noble hops. In production for the better part of three months, with a great deal of spunding time, this 6.9% ABV golden liquid is worthy of a promotion from the boss (Rick Ross).

When it came time to hatch the collaboration beer’s recipe, the breweries started from scratch. “We actually all came together with no end goal in mind,” says Lance Templeton, one of Hip Hop Heads’ Co-Founders. “We knew the brew would be coming out in the spring, so we were thinking of what kind of beer would be indicative of that time period: something crisp, refreshing, with a slightly higher alcohol content.”

Monday Night’s Brewmaster, Peter Kiley, chimes in. “I said, ‘You know, what you’re talking about is a Maibock.’ Choosing this style was such a weird path–I would have never imagined that this would be the beer we were making–but the fact that we’re making it demonstrates to me the Hip Hop Heads’ real passion for understanding and preserving beer.”

Dwight Ho-Sang, Lance Templeton, and Joe Edelin, the founders of Hip Hop Heads Brewery, are all educators by trade, teaching in the Atlanta school system for the past twenty years. Teaching is hard work, and after long days of dealing with preteens and tweens, they would kick back and unwind over craft beer. The backdrop to their beer sessions was always hip hop. Like most brilliant plans, their idea to start their own brewery arose “after beer five or six.” The ball started rolling after Dwight’s wife bought him a homebrew kit (almost exactly what happened with Monday Night’s origin, when two of our co-founders were simultaneously gifted homebrew kits). Wives: Consider yourselves warned.

“We started building our own recipes and that prompted us to allow other folks to taste our beer. People thought it was actually pretty good. Then we started adding the playlist to it and making it an experience that we could market and brand and sell. And then it was like, what if we did this thing for real,” says Joe Edelin, Hip Hop Heads’ Co-Founder.

It’s only a matter of time until the trio creates their own space where hip-hop music and craft beer blend into a hallmark Hip Hop Heads experience.

“It’s more than just sound coming through the speakers,” muses Joe. “We’ll have experiential elements happening in the space that connects craft beer and hip hop together. There’s trap yoga. There’s hip hop paint and sip. Hip hop trivia. There’s all sorts of things that we can do within the space to provide that experience.”

In the spirit of enjoying a beer as a complete sensory experience, Monday Night Brewing and Hip Hop Heads Brewery will be celebrating the launch of their collaboration beer on April 30 from 2-5 pm at Monday Night Garage. There will be a live DJ, merch, and of course, Maibock Music will be flowing on draft and available to-go in 16oz 4 packs.  Presales for Maibock Music are now available on Monday Night Brewing’s online store.

About Monday Night Brewing

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Monday Night Brewing grew out of a small Bible study. Founded by Jonathan Baker, Joel Iverson, and Jeff Heck, Monday Night Brewing exists to deepen relationships over some of the best beer in the country. Brewmaster Peter Kiley oversees brewing operations.

About Hip Hop Heads Brewery

Hip Hop Heads Brewery was founded by three long-time educators and friends, Dwight Ho-Sang, Joseph Edelin, and Lance Templeton. They have combined their love for craft beer and hip-hop music to create a product that represents their community and culture. They seek to change the traditional craft beer narrative and provide a fresh new take on who craft beer drinkers are, and what they can bring to the table. The Brewery’s tagline is “Taste the Music,” and to that end they plan to bridge craft beer and hip hop cultures by providing a QR code on each of their cans that, when scanned, will produce a hip hop playlist that is specifically curated for that beer, capturing its taste and mood, and giving that consumer a multisensory experience.

DuClaw Keeps it ‘Low Key’ with Three New Core Brews

May 2, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

DuClaw BrewingBALTIMORE, Maryland – The brewery is rolling out a Session IPA, Low Calorie Wheat Ale, and an American Red Ale.

To expand its Core lineup, DuClaw Brewing Company just unveiled its spin on three classic styles, including ‘Low Key,’ a wheat ale that marks the first low-calorie beer release in the brewery’s 25-year history.

The crisp, light-bodied brew is only 95 calories with a low 3.6% ABV. Each sip is approachable, featuring soft and sweet notes of pineapple coupled with subtle tropical flavors.

“Looking back at our Core lineup, we saw an opportunity to diversify, and add flair without sacrificing flavor,” said DuClaw CEO and Founder, Dave Benfield.

“Across the board, we tested several pilot batches to achieve the perfect balance of clean and crushable styles. A great example of this is our ‘Relaxed Fit’ Session IPA, where we conquered the challenge of nailing a punchy hop flavor despite a low ABV.”

For longtime fans of DuClaw, ‘Misfit Red’ is a friendly face, as it’s been in production for more than two decades. According to Benfield, the industry is seeing a resurgence in Amber styles, and this elevation of ‘Misfit Red’ is an interesting take because it’s a blend between an Amber ale and an Irish red ale.

The following beers are now available on draft and in 12oz cans at select locations.

‘Low Key’ Wheat Ale (3.6% ABV): Look on the light side with this one-of-a-kind brew. Bursting with pineapple juice yet low on calories, this sip was made for sweet moments of chill. Enjoy the easy tropical breeze of mango and passion fruit, coupled with crisp notes of citrus and pine. After all, sometimes less IS more.

‘Relaxed Fit’ Session IPA (4.8% ABV):  Time to sit back, relax and relish in this pivotal moment. Because this is where pine meets pineapple. Where lemon meets lime. This is where a good pour finds your great times. Forget class. Smooth is back in session.

‘MisFit Red’ American Ale (5% ABV): This is not a rebel, a lone wolf, or a misfit. This brew is an individualist, a creative, a visionary. Quietly thriving in production for more than two decades, DuClaw is now elevating the American-style smooth and malty red ale into the spotlight.

Roadhouse Brewing Debuts ‘The Phlow’ Sunshine IPA

May 2, 2022 by Dustin Scoggins

RoadhouseJACKSON HOLE, Wyoming – Roadhouse Brewing Co. marks the arrival of warmer temps with a new brew: The Phlow, a Sunshine IPA (5% ABV) inspired by the culture of stand-up paddle boarding and in keeping with the brewery’s mantra to Live Deep.

A summer refresher just in time for outdoor adventuring,The Phlow has no fresh fruit added, but features notes from hops that deceptively insinuate the inclusion of such ingredients.

Says Brewmaster Max Shafer, “We’ve learned a lot over the years about how, where and when to use hops – and this beer showcases a lot of those new ways we have learned to really let the hops shine.”

The Phlow features a few new hops to the brewery’s production line up, including Sabro and Vista, the latter being the featured hop in The Phlow, at over 3lbs per BBL, because of the tropical punch flavors it gives this summertime IPA.

“Vista was a hop we knew we needed to showcase because it is one we have been playing around a lot with over the past few years,” continues Shafer, “Our involvement with The Hop Research Council allowed us to be one of the first breweries in the US to get our hands on Vista, and honestly it was just love at first sight for me.”

The Phlow will be released in WY, MT, CO, CA, ID and MT in late April, 2022.
