Seattle – Seattle’s Lucky Envelope Brewing will once again ring in the Lunar New Year with more than a week of special events and special beer releases. Say hello to the Year of the Water Rabbit.
Lucky Envelope Brewing’s owners don’t shy away from their Asianness. They are proud Asian Americans and happily embrace Asian culinary and cultural traditions into what they brew and what they do.
This year’s Lunar New Year’s beer releases include a couple of collaborations brewed with other breweries that have Asian-American ownership.
Availability: Saturday, January 21st Release on Draft and 4-pack Cans ($18)
Description: Gong Xi Fa Cai and Happy Year of the Water Rabbit from Lucky Envelope and Highland Brewing! This refreshing west coast pilsner featuring real yuzu citrus fruit marks our fourth annual zodiac beer collaboration. Cheers to the new year with this traditional all-malt American Pilsner brewed with noble hops and fry hopped with Citra and Mosaic.
Beer: White Rabbit Milk Stout (6.3% ABV) collaboration with Ladd & Lass Brewing
Availability: Saturday, January 21st Release on Draft and 4-pack Cans ($18)
Description: We had so much fun with our first collaborations (Bob’s a Lucky Ladd for Latona Pub’s 35th anniversary), we decided to do it again! With the Year of the Water Rabbit upon us, we decided to brew with actual White Rabbit vanilla candies, an internationally-beloved candy that conjures up all sorts of warm and nostalgic fuzzies for those that grew up in the Chinese community (us, included!).
The milk candies and lactose lend a creamy smoothness while the dark malts create a delicious chocolatey profile. Like a warm hug from a loved one, this stout is percent for the cold winter months. Here’s to long-lasting friendships and a very Happy New Year!
