Lone Tree Brewing to Open Second Location in Parker, CO

February 7, 2024 by Spencer Mapes

LONE TREE, Colorado— Lone Tree Brewing is ecstatic to announce its second location in neighboring city Parker, Colorado— slated to open in March.

After years of searching for the brewery’s next location, Lone Tree Brewing will open another taproom in the former Barnett & Son Brewing Co. location at 18425 Pony Express Drive in Parker, Colorado. Barnett & Son Owner Andrew Barnett, a long time friend of Lone Tree Brewing, will soon retire; Transforming this location into Lone Tree Brewing 2.0 was the perfect fit.

“The acquisition of Barnett’s brewing assets and tap room will allow Lone Tree to research and develop new and innovative recipes that will be served at both locations for the immediate future,” says Jerry Siote, Lone Tree Brewing Co-Owner and Director of Brewhouse Operations. “The flexibility and versatility of brewing on a smaller system in Parker can provide much-needed customer feedback for scaling up newer recipes and further experimentation.”

The Lone Tree Brewing team will take over operations at the end of February 2024, and target a public grand opening for March 1, 2024. More details about the opening will be announced in coming weeks.

About Lone Tree Brewing Company

Lone Tree Brewing Company was the first brewery in Lone Tree, Colorado that opened near Park Meadows Mall in 2011. The neighborhood-focused, family-friendly brewery and tasting room regularly hosts community events that gather around a stylistically diverse lineup of flagship, seasonal, and limited release beers. Lone Tree’s cans are sold across the state of Colorado, and in select locations in Kansas. Its draft beer is poured at many bars and restaurants across its distribution footprint as well.

Breckenridge Distillery and Breckenridge Brewery Announce Fourth Edition of Sexy Motor Oil Whiskey and New Sexy Motor Oil Beer

February 7, 2024 by Spencer Mapes

BRECKENRIDGE, Colorado— Breckenridge Distillery, one of the most-awarded craft distilleries in the U.S., and Breckenridge Brewery, two subsidiaries of Tilray Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ: TLRY and TSX: TLRY), announced the fourth edition of Sexy Motor Oil, a limited release collaboration barrel-aged whiskey alongside a new collaboration, a whiskey-barrel aged beer, of the same name. The two iconic Colorado brands have come together to bring the two new releases of Sexy Motor Oil to lovers of both whiskey and beer this Valentine’s Day.

The ongoing Sexy Motor Oil collaboration between Breckenridge Distillery and Breckenridge Brewery, which are located three miles from one another, involves aging the brewery’s Imperial Oatmeal Stout in the distillery’s bourbon whiskey barrels. After the beer has been emptied from the barrels, the distillery fills the barrels with Breckenridge Bourbon Whiskey where it ages for more than a year to become Sexy Motor Oil whiskey.

This year’s Sexy Motor Oil whiskey is 107 proof, with delicious cherry and caramel cream notes, perfectly balanced with a cinnamon and oak backdrop; dry cacao envelopes the tongue after every sip. The Sexy Motor Oil beer plays up big warming notes of rich chocolate and robust coffee flavors.

The barrel-aged beer is an imperial oatmeal stout aged over six months in a Breckenridge Distillery Bourbon Barrel with a 13.1% abv. With a velvety mouthfeel, this enticing beer is a great cold-weather sipper. The Imperial Oatmeal Stout imparts notes of dark chocolate-covered cherries, espresso, and toffee; and its time in the Breckenridge Distillery’s high-rye bourbon barrels imparts hints of caramel sweetness layered with notes of vanilla. While the bourbon barrels impart bourbon characteristics, it’s the time in the barrel that makes a smooth, complex, and sexy beer.

Starting Valentine’s Day on Feb.14, 2024, the limited-edition Sexy Motor Oil whiskey will be available for purchase at Breckenridge Distillery and the Breckenridge Distillery Tasting Room on Main Street in Breckenridge, Colorado, and will retail for $200. The limited-edition Sexy Motor Oil beer will be available in Crowlers and single serve 16 oz cans at the Breckenridge Brewery Brewpub for $9 and offer 10oz pours in house for $8.

“Our collaboration with Breckenridge Brewery has deepened over the years, rooted in a mutual commitment to craftsmanship and innovation,” said Bryan Nolt, founder and CEO of Breckenridge Distillery. “Sexy Motor Oil represents the harmonious blend of our expertise and the embodiment of our shared values. We invite connoisseurs to savor a fusion of distinct flavors, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for creating exceptional libations.”

“Having both Breck Distillery and the Breck Brew Pub in the same town since the beginning has created a natural hometown partnership–allowing us the ability to talk shop over lunch and come up with creative collaborations like Sexy Motor Oil,” said Jimmy Walker, Head Brewer for Breckenridge Brewery. “Moreover, having them down the street allows us to exchange the freshest barrels possible which maximizes the flavor impact on the barrel aged beer, and the beer barrel aged whiskey creating something extraordinary.”

Breckenridge Distillery and Breckenridge Brewery are no strangers to barrel aged collaboration projects. In previous years, the two iconic Breckenridge businesses have released Buddy Pass a similar collaborative concept featuring an Imperial Stout Cask Finished Whiskey and Whiskey-Barrel Aged Oatmeal Stout Beer–that is available in select states.

Visit Breckenridge Distillery and Breckenridge Brewery locations to pick up bottles of this year’s limited edition Sexy Motor Oil whiskey and beer to gift on Valentine’s Day.

February 7, 2024 by Spencer Mapes

BREMERTON, WASHINGTON — Silver City Brewery is proud to present a dynamic rebrand of its classic lineup and new offerings for 2024. As a mainstay in Western Washington since 1996, Silver City has become synonymous with independent, high-quality craft beer. Our new brand design reflects our enduring values: Quality, Craft, and Community. Brewed in the Northwest.

Working with craft centric design agency Blindtiger Design, Silver City has refreshed the full brand and packaging lineup to better match what’s inside the can – Choice beer brewed in the Northwest. Every beer in the 2024 Silver City lineup has a new look, with visuals that pay tribute to their legacy and give fans new artwork to enjoy as they sip. Tropic Haze IPA was updated with a laid-back illustration of its iconic palm tree, Ridgetop Red’s packaging now features a mountaintop fire-lookout, and Ride the Spiral Double IPA sports an abstract nod to the enigmatic and sometimes surreal wilderness of the Pacific Northwest.

There are also exciting new additions to the roster – available on draft now, with package hitting shelves in January 2024:

Range West IPA: A four-season beer, Range West is an approachable, light-bodied West coast style IPA. Moderate bitterness nods to the challenges of blazing new trails, balanced by aromas of citrus, grapefruit, lemon, and pine. Range West IPA was recently awarded Platinum in the Sip Magazine 2023 “Best of The Northwest Beer Awards”

• Silver City Pils: This crisp, cold Pilsner invites you to savor the simple pleasures of life. Grainy aromatics, subtle hints of water cracker and a touch of honey. Like old friends sharing stories by the fire, the sweetness and bitterness balance perfectly. Silver City Pils was awarded a Silver Medal in the recent Washington Beer Awards.
• A rotating 16oz IPA Series featuring different IPA styles and techniques with each release, starting with a Phantasm infused IPA and a Cold IPA in early 2024.
• A rotating 16oz Lager Series including new recipes and returning favorites, kicking off with a Helles and a
Vienna Style Lager in early 2024.
• Silver City Variety 12-Pack: Featuring new beers Silver City Pils and Range West IPA, along with Tropic Haze
IPA, and Ridgetop Red Ale for a balanced mix.
As the new look rolls out in the Bremerton taproom, and out across the Pacific Northwest, keep an eye out for

Mother Earth Brewing Company Releases New Project X Series Hazy IPA – ‘Urban Solace’

February 6, 2024 by Spencer Mapes

VISTA, Calif. & NAMPA, Idaho— Mother Earth is entering the fifth year of its beer and art series, Project X. It’s no surprise the program has sustained itself for so long; with a unique twist on beer labels that feature collaborations with artists domestic and abroad, the rotating Hazy IPA series has captured the attention of consumers and retailers alike with its avant-garde approach to what a beer’s cover art should look like.

Mother Earth kicks off 2024 strong with Urban Solace – Another Hazy IPA featuring a rock star triplet of hops in Galaxy, Citra, and experimental “HBC 1019”.

“We’ve reached the point as a brewery where we are getting access to some pretty cool stuff, like priority hop selection and experimental varietals. HBC 1019 is one of those examples. We were really impressed with its characteristics at hop-selection last year.”

-Chris Baker – Director of Brewing Operations, Mother Earth Brew Co.

With a malt bill of nearly 40% oats and wheat, Urban Solace presents itself with huge mid-palate body, held up by slightly more bitterness than the style calls for – consistent with Mother Earth’s trend of designing Hazy beers with a more West-Coast finish. Leaning heavily into HBC 1019, the beer expresses big tropical and stone fruit notes along with a pleasing mix of Valencia oranges and honeydew melon.

For the label art, Mother Earth teamed up with Brazilian artist, Visvel, to create a dramatic cover that depicts a surrealistic world juxtaposing a lonely man’s solitude amidst the chaotic urban world around him. The design is right on brand for the artist:

“I was born and raised in the ghetto. My inspiration comes from the streets. Since I was a kid I’ve been on the streets with my skateboard.”

Urban Solace HIPA is available now on draft and in 16oz cans. Customers can find it using Mother Earth’s beer finder at findmotherearthbrewing.com or at one of Mother Earth’s tap rooms.

About Mother Earth

Mother Earth Brew Co. develops hand crafted artisanal ales in year-round, as well as seasonal and specialty offerings. With multi-state as well as international distribution serviced by breweries in Vista, CA and Nampa, ID; Mother Earth’s award-winning beers help define and maintain the standard of excellence expected of independent craft brewers.

Crying Eagle Brewing Company Breaks Ground on Lakefront Location

February 2, 2024 by Spencer Mapes

LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana – Something new is brewing on the Lake Charles Lakefront. An official groundbreaking took place on Thursday, January 11, at 901 Lakeshore Drive for Crying Eagle Brewing Company – Lakefront’s new restaurant and microbrewery. This will be a second location for Crying Eagle, representing a $12 million investment for the region.

The company’s founder and President, Eric Avery, was joined by public officials, his development team, employees, family and community leaders to celebrate the beginning of construction of this new destination attraction on the scenic lakefront.

“We are incredibly excited to mark the beginning of construction,” says Avery. “We first announced this project four years ago, never imagining it would take this long to get to this milestone, but we also could not have imagined the challenges we would face – and overcome—during that time. This groundbreaking is more than just a ceremony to celebrate the start of a construction project. It’s a testament of the and resilience of the Southwest Louisiana community. We are so proud to be a part of it and to begin this exciting new chapter in our city’s history.”

Avery gave special thanks to Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter and the city’s administrative team for working with them to make the project possible. He also expressed his gratitude to the Southwest Louisiana legislative delegation for the successful passage of Senate Bill 450, which removed the obstacle of transferring finished product between breweries of the same ownership, making a second location possible for Crying Eagle.

Avery says the Lakefront location will incorporate all the features their fans love most about Crying Eagle, along with some new, unique features:

Over 12,000 square feet of dining and entertainment space across two floors

Full-service restaurant with incredible lakefront views

Seafood-inspired menu

Microbrewery delivering a unique selection of lager-focused beer offerings

Full bar service for wine, spirits, cocktails

Waterfront to-go ordering station

Indoor & outdoor entertainment venues

Randy Goodloe, AIA, APAC, is the architect for the project and PERC Development is the contractor.

About Crying Eagle Brewing Company

The original Crying Eagle – University opened in 2016 near McNeese State University and has become a tourism staple in Southwest Louisiana, welcoming over 200,000 visitors annually and offering unique craft beers, award winning cocktails, elevated pub food, entertainment and brewery tours.
